Loved the "welcome to my side hustle" comment. I also appreciate your perspective on how money allows you to achieve your goals and it isn't just a game of who can zero their debt fastest. Being debt free is truly great, and so is being informed and having your own benchmarks and goals that work for you and your partnership.
Both of you are paying off debt, saving a good portion over the average american, and finding ways to enjoy life well within your means... looks ideal to me.
Just started the video id just like to say I think that’s what separates gen z from other generations is our ability to be transparent with one another bc I genuinely feel most people want to help one another
Why are people obsessed with telling other people to deprive themselves? Isn't the goal to be in a place without needing to rely on deprivation for survival? Then they would be calling you irresponsible for being in that place. It's not a zero sum game and it shouldn't be. You can make impressive financial progress and live a rich fulfilling life that involves spending money. These people act like you have to be a servant to money when you should be making money serve you. That's literally the point of money, it's an exchange of value. Also absolutely loved your point about society needing people to choose diverse careers and that telling everyone to go to trade school doesn't solve the problem of overpriced colleges or predatory loan practices. Hope you are having a great day! :)
I think people are juist jealous ig that they don't have the opportunity to be able to allocate a large portion of their income to paying of debt instead of paying of rent. People now a day are too much looking into the negative aspects/ envious about other people opportunities then seeing the positive impact that someone can have on their live. Nobodies live or financial situation is the same, but we can help each other to become better in it!
Just finished the video and wanted to say what you’re doing I feel is spot on, I really wanna get better at using my credit cards, my only input I have to say is if your interest on your debt is 5-7% and the inflation rate compounded annually is around 7% try to beat that in your investing account or whatever, and kinda why I own a bit of bitcoin it’s got a 55% compound annual growth rate the s&p I think is around 13-15% anyways keep grinding good luck
I will guess that the house is in the boyfriend's name? I will guess that you contribute to your boyfriend's financial bottom line and overall general health through what i will summarize as "domestic engineering"? (Ie Not everyone eats from scratch sour dough bread without all the extras in commercially available sour dough; plus its cheaper.)
@ I know. I’m teasing you lol. I love your advice. I’m going to school for OT. You helped me. I appreciate you. But having someone who makes more and not paying as much on bills and rent, Helps tremendously. Especially when student loans are ridiculous at an all-time high. I live in Los Angeles. So the cost of living is even higher.
Yay fellow OT!! It’s hard and hugely helpful to have this support- I definitely wasn’t counting on it. Luckily PSLF isn’t horrible to pursue if you work as an OT! You got it

I feel so very seen thank you
Love it

Thanks for sharing! I’ve struggled to get my friends to talk personal finance so it’s so nice having someone my age to compare with and relate to.

@@FinnOber02 agreed- but I think it’s so helpful to see all the different options to spark some new ideas!

I don’t like Dave Ramsey either, literally no clue why he’s got such a large following, his advice imo is super generic & bland

So I should find a girlfriend and live off her salary so I can pay off my student loans. Got it lmao
I didn’t say what you should do, I said what I’m doing- cuz this is my channel and I share what I’m doing on it.
