I find the whole idea of sororities bizarre…everyone should be able to think for themselves, choose what they want to do, what they believe in and choose who you want to be friends with!!! I never had any interest in a sorority and had an awesome college life!!!
Speaking as an old white lady from the North I think the whole deal of a sorority is one of the most racist and anti-emetic and snobbish bunch of women and men too. So that is what people go to college for. And I always thought it was to get a degree.
Reprter asks, "Why the secrecy?" Well, idk if it happened here or not, but if someone was secretly recording me for an HBO documentary, I don't think I would be thrilled to find that out.
This film started okay and had potential but landed flat, imo. I stopped watching around 30 minutes in. No one knows or cares who the director is and her inserting bits of her life story in every 5 minutes just made it awkward and flow badly. The girls they chose to follow were just weird in their motives or personalities and a couple of them seemed truly insufferable. Almost like the film was trying to be a hit piece in a way. It was just all over the place and didn't cover the experience rushing or pledging well at all.
I agree, the narrator and the girls stories made no sense . I understand bringing girls in to talk about why they want to join sororities so bad but we did not a whole background story about them lol
They should start their own anti sorority. All refuse hair bleach and dress in ways to annoy them prissy ones. Like wear a swimsuit over pants or mismatched clothes with crooked hair.
I wanted them to go deeper, especially into The Machine but I got totally irrelevant information about the director dealing with her alopecia. I don't think her commentary fit well with the topic of the documentary. Felt like it veered of the topic of these sorority houses.
i was excited for weeks to watch the documentary but disappointed after seeing it when they barely dove into more aspects of greek life and focusing on completely irrelevant things. it genuinely looked like they had no footage to work with and i know it was supposed to highlight the negative parts of greek life but it barely did that. also the director was acting like she was oppressed for having alopecia and don’t get me wrong, i imagine that can be hard, but it is not the biggest issue in the world so i did not understand that at all lol. i wish they uncovered stuff like hazing too but really only showed 90% of girls’ decisions to sororities and 10% negative parts
Clealrly this is just another form of hazing just fpr woman, its mean and messed up. And they dont want u Recording because clearly they're doing something they're not supposed to be doing.
This is only surprising to people who have never gone to college and lived on campus, there is alot to a sorority they do have to have the gpa also to stay in the sorority once they get in. It is a legacy for some, and it is exclusive
Imagine having a daughter and her number one dream in college is to get into a sorority ☠️☠️☠️
🎉
@@P.90.603oh Please u make me laugh😂

Of course. So a woman can objectify a man as a lifelong mealticket and trust fund and hopefully die 10 years before she does.
And get raw dogged every night. 🤣

I knew the mixed girl wouldn't go through with it. She was way too chill and laid back. Good for her.
~ Then why did she bother?

no they go to get drunk and get laid
I completely agree. It’s absolutely ridiculous.
Guess that’s why you didn’t Rush or were not Admitted!
I meant to say Anti Semitic not emetic .
“I’m going to have to ask you to, like, leave.” It’s not LIKE leaving; it fg IS leaving. STOP SAYING LIKE when it’s not fg necessary.

OMG, this is such a first world problem🤢🤢🤢
And a very small portion of the first world. I went to college and Greek life was peripheral for me. Kinda irrelevant.

It's a Greek thing. If you know, you know.
I can’t believe he called it HBO Max when it is now called MAX.
the name apparently just changed today so i hope this is a joke. cuz u sound like a sorority girl yourself lol
Who cares
@@Nerdbookworm exactly I didn't even notice until I decided to watch a show 😂😂
Nerd it was a joke

After they get selected, spectators line up the streets to watch them run back to their new sorority houses. So weird and cringey.
Children of the corn.
😂
White gurls
Basic white girls
Right? LMAOOO
Pretty sad you have to pay to have friends
I didn't even think about it that way lol. Sororities and fraternities come across very cult-ish to me
idk if they cover this but talk about ALL the *FEES $$$$* kids leave college owing the greek organization big money 😂
Collage supposed to for education. How they have time between classes, homework and projects for all this nonsense
They don't. They're rich parents pay admissions to have them keep their child enrolled
Irony.
Is this Ghetto White ?
I thought it would be like an Obama movie, my bad
🎉
Lol ditto
Does it uncover the hazing too?
This is not new. You will spend more money than tuition.

The alopecia part threw me off too! I was like is this about your hair loss or rushing?! So confusing. 😅😂
Blonde White Girl Moment.
I fail to see why this is even news/documentary worthy?
Paying an organization so u can have friends
Sorieties- just one of many many ridiculously weird things in America.
Let it be transgenders wanting to be in sororities there will be to controversy 🤦🏾♀️
Weirdos
I am reading that it is boring and the director self inserting her life dealing with Alopecia.
Sounds like a cult
