Literally, every college in the South says that. It's such a bad way to describe a college because every college is a family and always so nice and friendly.
I went to Alabama back in 1972. Very green state , full of trees 🌳, big forests , and crystal lakes. You can feel the real south of USA there. Very nice and kind people. Mu greetings from Uruguay 🇺🇾.

But if you go to college and apply yourself to get good grades, an internship, and a hands-on learning experience you will be way more successful in life than if you hadn't gone to college. Hell even if you coast through college, you will still be more successful than someone who just went to high school, because it still shows that you completed college and have successfully learned something as credit of your progress in the field you want to go into. Otherwise, you have to work a lot more to succeed and prove yourself without a degree, and college is while hard, a more fun way to go about success.

Easily the best time of my life. I met some of my best friends here besides the ones I knew from back home. Academics are pretty good too. The naysayers are looking at just numbers. It’s what you make of it. If you’re worth your salt it doesn’t matter as much where you go. I attribute going to Alabama to the job I have right now. It helped me grow and now we’re bringing in more of UA grads to compete with the Georgia Tech and UGA grads in the company.

But after my 2nd yr .Alabama pretty much pushed me to be more involved in my program and I'm very proud to be a Crimson Tide Grad. And graduated With a 3.1 GPA electrical Engineering degree. Roll Tide class of 2009....
It makes me really sad that the people in this video only choose to talk about partying and football to represent the school. Honestly, that is only what it is if that is what you're there for. For instance, I am going to be a music major and I'm going for their music program (which is amazing btw). My main focus is my future, not getting drunk and watching football, so if someone is going to judge a school on what the general populous does there, that's their problem. They might just miss out on great opportunities. I'm not saying that being social and enjoying sports is bad; it's great. I just think it shouldn't be the only thing people see when they're looking at UA.
I think that football and scenery should be complementary to the academics. For instance, I want to go to U Florida, the reasons, from most to least important are: Great school overall Great Math department Better girls Better football Better food Better weather Better scenery

I have been to San Diego State and Colorado State and Tennessee Knoxville(Transient courses) for Freshman and Sophomore which were much better in terms of partying, nearby town, amenities, beautiful campus.etc. however the pro about Alabama is that its an easier school for Engineering, all professors are lenient in grading and considerate and has good football team. Con: If you are not part of Greek system, you are an outcast and making friends is relatively harder with non-classmates and Tuscaloosa is UGLY town and had to take ride to atlanta or birmingham on weekends. Good times though, roll tide!

Nick Lounsbury No. Any decent university in the United States is going to cost you $30k in tuition + $15k+ in room+board, food, books & misc. expenses. I don’t think there’s a top 100 school under $40k, most are well over this number. A little research on your part would have saved me the effort to do your research for you, I guess that’s why you’ll never be in a good school. Learn from this.
Bruce Crawford a little research would also show that the majority of people don’t actually pay full price lol. Financial aid at most reputable universities are extremely robust and most students pay a fraction of that price.

I was involved in every area of my high school, and ended up graduating salutatorian. 4K doesn't help when the cost is 29K for freshman. I wanted to rush too, but it's high as well. I can't go because we just can't pay the amount. It makes me said too because I worked for years on getting there. RTR though ❤️🐘
