Watching you walk through *without* a detailed explanation was possibly more helpful to me. I think I do what you do, just follow my instincts, and trying to follow a regimented tutorial never ends well for me. This is far more instructive. It gives me permission to trust my process and see where it takes me. Thank you!
Oh man, I cracked laughing out loud when I heard you say bloops and blops. I love how humble you are and how you reinforce that this is just your way of painting, not “the” way, I think it’s important for people to know there are so many ways of making art and it’s all perfectly fine. Thank you for sharing your techniques, you do beautiful work! I also love your accent!
Natural talent doesn’t need art school! Truly. Your paintings are so inspiring and gorgeous- the color choices, the textures…all of it works together so perfectly. Love seeing an artists process behind the magic!
Hi Hannah - don't be so hard on yourself!! This was so informative and interesting to watch. I learnt so much and really love how relaxed your approach is. Thank you for sharing your process. The finished piece is gorgeous! Keep doing what you are doing - beautiful art work! oh and it was fun that your cat made a guest appearance :)
Haha!! I was editing it and hearing all the weird cat noises and thinking ' I hope no one notices that' 😂 she gets zoomies and then makes the strangest noises!! 🤣
I loved getting a look at your process!! You’re definitely better at explaining than you think and you’re also showing it very clearly so it makes sense!!
ABSOLUTELY my favourite video on RUclips. You are SO incredibly generous with your time and your explanation. I really got so much out of it. I really liked you thinking out loud especially all the bits you thought were ‘crap’. Those moments helped me understand your decision making. I want to thank you so much for this video. I learned a LOT!
Perfect relaxing video to watch for a Sunday afternoon 😌 I loooved watching the scratchier, swoopy brush strokes going on, they make it so you, Hannah! Such a lovely landscape
Thanks for sharing this ! I made a big huge mess on my notebook because you made me want to try out new materials : the paper is now twice as thick I think 😁. You are very good at explaining the things you do, and a lovely artist. Thanks again (and go give a cuddle to this cute dog of yours ❤)
Omg a huge mess sounds perfect! I think it's so fun to just play with art! Awh thank you!! 💖 I'm so glad I did a good enough job! Haha I'll give her all the love for you!
Wow! Just WOW! One of the best videos that I’ve ever seen, when it comes to mixed media painting. Amazing! I feel so inspired right now. I finally understand the layering of different mediums. Again wow! Thank you so much for sharing this! Your work is beyond beautiful and I did not even have to think twice about subscribing. 😍
Omg!!! Thank you so much!! This is the loveliest comment ever 😭💖💖💖 I was so uncertain if I was even being helpful in the video haha! I'm so happy that you found it useful and inspiring 💖 thank you so so much!!!
I loved this so much I watched it twice! It was helpful to see the order of media and mark making. If you ever do another video like this, I would enjoy hearing the name of each color you are using. Thank you for sharing all the magic!
Thank you so much for showing your process this detailed! I only ever painted with acrylics and watercolors until a couple of weeks ago and now I just got started with gouache. So this was super helpful! I also really love your compositions, your palettes and especially the textures! 🤌🏼🌻✨
Yay! I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Best of luck with gouache! Personally when I switch from watercolour to gouache I fell totally in love and never went back!!
You did a brilliant job of talking while you were painting, it’s such a difficult thing to do!😍 I love the painting you’ve created, it’s very beautiful with the lovely balance of colours. x
Thank you so much Hannah, I simply loved it! The video and seeing your process was so insightful. I really enjoyed to be able to see your palette and how you mix the Gouache, because I always tend to end up with muddy colours. Ohh, and I wanted to ask what colour premixed green Gouache do you use? Or do you prefer to mix your own. Thanks!!
Thank you so much!! I can totally relate Ive had manys a muddy colour in my time! I will always tend to mixing greens on my palette but my favourite straight from the tube green would be olive green! Warm greens have my heart forever and ever!
Love your landscapes, they truly inspire me to draw the mountains of my country. I wanted to ask you something. When I click on the links, it doesn’t take me to the specific color but the set. I’ve listed carefully to get the colors but didn't get them all. Could you please provide the exact colors for the following? WN Pink PanPastels color Holbein Green Conte à Paris Pastel Pencils yellowish color Thank you so much! :)
I rewound several times to make sure my ears heard what I thought they did. "Amn't". Did you say that? Is that a regional thing? It was the cutest most delightful thing, so I hope it is.
Washi tape is very beautiful. For a cheaper option, painter’s tape works great. For something more professional you can stretch your paper and use “butcher’s tape” -but that’s a whole process and you probably need to google a video for that. Best to all 🌸
The values and textures and colors... Gah..... So beautiful 😍😍😍😍 Thank You!! Loved this tutorial. Very relaxing, as well!

Hahaha!! The amount of cuts I made in the video that was me shooing my cat off my desk!! It's like they know you don't want them there 🤣

Ah that oil pastel is a ridonculous size!! 😂
