  • Are wraps a thing of the past? Is paint back in the game? What do you think?
    We've done the hard part for you, and have experimented with both wraps and paint, and here is our follow up video, 1 year later.

    Man, I just spend 2400 on a 98 Chevy 4x4 that needs brand new rocker panels, fender, and new paint on the hood and roof. That being said the second I get that fixed I'm saving up and buying a set up from you guys. Great work!

    I think it’s a lot of variables in which it’s up to the person, some think wraps are good and last but then you also wash out the durability of that wrap every car wash. But it’s also gonna be bad on paint if the cars baking in the sun and not protected so both sides have good points and cons but I personally just have painted cars I just bought my dream truck so I’m loving the paint.

    I think wraps look awesome in certain situations, but overall I think paint is great and given the choice would always choose paint.

    Id wrap cause i take my rig offroad often so the wrap protects the paint and also doesn't matter if I get scratched up, but if I were driving a pavement princess i'd probably paint it

    Good video. I wrapped the OEM bowties on my Silverado because to buy and professionally install the black bowties they sell would run about $400-$500 (imagine going that route and having a rock chip it on the freeway)....I wrapped both front and rear bowties for $50 at a local shop. Only issue is the 100° weather in CA I saw bubbling, expanding and shrinking within a year.

    Paint or linner that's what I've come up with. I'm torn between getting the truck repainted with the body work or just get it as smooth of a finish on the linner.

    What about a bed liner for the exterior paint job over paint or wrap for off road? And which bed liner paint would be best for an exterior paint job?

    That f350 purple rims and shiny wrap on the thumbnail lower section was in my town. I think he drives to houston a lot. Nice truck, just very very blinding. I actually hate it. Thats me of course and its not my truck.

    Now with chrome like bumpers on a truck. Woukd you prefer paint of vinyl wrap. I want an all black look like every other truck on the gram and stuck on which one to do

    • @caseytodd7632
      @caseytodd7632 6 лет назад +1

      Painting chrome metal is a booger and many shops shy away from it. Has to be chemically stripped, bodyworked, prepped, primed and painted and if not done perfectly, will start chipping quick. Because of this it is expensive. My last truck, it was actually cheaper to find a junkyard bumper off a silverado work truck model that was flat black from the factory and have that painted and ditch the chrome from the get go

      Casey Todd nailed it quite well. Some guys even go to the extent of getting it sand blasted and powdercoated black, but unfortunately still falls in the area of potential chipping easily

    If you’re constantly wanting new, than wrap is the way to go, but if you’re looking for one and done color change, than paint is 100% way to go, but about the clear coming off on the Lamborghini, person removing wrap should’ve used a humidifier to remove the wrap instead of just peeling It off. Unless paint was just THAT bad and It wouldve came off no matter what, which I doubt.

    Wraps = supporting hipster vape godz with a heat gun and giant stickers. Paint = supporting a classic artisan with skills that span decades before they were born and decades into the future. Basically wraps are douche, paint is class. Stay classy.

    3500 for a paint job where u go Maco? A decent paint job is 5k for a half decent job and up to 15k and more for a show quality paint job

    • @norcalsrt1214
      @norcalsrt1214 6 лет назад

      U pay for quality a decent paint job is very time consuming, it's not just wet sand that is only the first step in finishing a paint job sure some guys pad their costs but time is time
