- If you want a little extra burn, you will love Pilates with Small Weights. The light weights will tone your upper body and make your core work a little bit more.
The key to an effective and safe at home Pilates workout with weights is to move at a steady pace, ensuring that the proper muscles are being strengthened and stretched without injuring the body.
As I talk through in the opening of the video, 1-3 pound weights is plenty of weight for this workout and you can always discontinue using the weights if you feel they are too challenging.
Adding variety to your at home Pilates routine with weights is the perfect way to make a short workout even more effective.
Pilates mat workout for abs is great but when you can also add a full body workout using small weights to your Pilates routine, it really is one of the best ways to get an effective Pilates mat workout at home.
During this short and effective Pilates mat workout, you will feel how beneficial a Pilates arm workout is for your body and even more so when you combine Pilates arms with a flowing Pilates mat class that also focuses on the core, legs and back strength for a total body Pilates workout.

My daughter bought me an early Christmas present... 1.5 kilo dumbbells... which l used for the first time in this workout... l think 1 kilo weights would be better at some angles but l managed, actually doing a couple of moves without weights... l see that this is a "old" workout but with every new practitioner following it it becomes new again🤗
This is an older class but still good. And the best news is there are some updated classes with small weights as well with better audio and camera too.

Thank you! This was perfect for me today (SAT am) b4 a busy day of hauling kids around ;0 I appreciated the well rounded feeling when I was finished with the workout. I have been so busy trying to finish my semester work that I needed this balance. One thing, the very first exercises with the weights and rolling up & back- I felt that your pace was a bit fast for me and I tend to do roll ups slower as I need the time to be sure of my alignment and activation. What do you think? Is this ok or should I be working toward a quicker pace? Thanks again for the excellent sequence :)
