I've watched enough mine explores to learn that when light has a hard time filling up a space it's a big area. But you are definitely right, you can't tell how big it really is until we get something for perspective.
My grandfather Jim told me about many things mining related, he was a coal miner in North Wales 1920's ish. He described what they then called "singing posts" that this was a post placed to hold the back but also alert the miners to potential collapse. The weight of the back would cause the wooden post to dink and pop when the back was going to fail, giving vital minutes of escape time. Hope my and my grandads memories help. Gary North Wales UK
Sorry to be so off topic but does any of you know of a tool to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb lost my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can give me
@Mohammad Alfonso i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
An absolutely epic episode. To imagine the tonnage of material taken out of that hill is mind blowing. Mr M in that ballroom for perspective was perfect. Keep living life to the fullest! 🍻
Well Hello Mrs. M. I often wonder if all these adventures Gly takes Mr. M on makes you as nervous as it does me ? I know Gly is very experienced and all that but some of the places I've watched him go into are downright scary. I've not had an opportunity to explore any mines with the exception of one time when I was much younger and my mom and dad took us to the IZ Ranch in Eastern Oregon to deer hunt. I remember seeing a few of what looked like mines to me but my dad told all 4 of us children to stay out of them. Only one time when I was the only one with dad he actually allowed me to walk a very short distance into one of them. I was overwhelmed and I'm sure it showed on my face. I think I was 12 years old then and I'll be 64 this month. Have a fabulous weekend.
Nice to see mine exploring that tell what the geology is and what they were mining, not just running around and showing just the junk that was left there, and taking unnecessary risks to see how fast they could go not explaining anything. Keep up the great videos, Professor Gly and MR. M.
Poor Scott, he wants to be the safe observer.... from a distance, and mean ole "Gly" makes him climb into the ballroom lol. Awesome vid fellas, thanks for sharing your finds
That is a fun mine ....we have explored it many a time ...... they blasted the ore pass in the 20's ..Big Lead , Silver Zinc mine.....there is another one across the way to the south with the Headframe on the side of the canyon wall and a gravity tram ......
You took a few risks down there. I love your videos I'll probably never get the chance to see a underground mine. But your making my day. You & Mr. M be careful down there! We want you to be around awhile. Stay safe!
“Gly”: Hey Jeff! We documented the one to the south and that video will be released in two weeks. Wow, what a mine that was too! Artifacts and interesting things to document laying everywhere!
Thanks for sharing one of your first Gly! It’s special to see a artifact like an ore cart in it’s natural habitat. You explored some sketchy areas in this one!
After being with you for awhile I gotta say I was always a little worried when you were soloing these mines. I'm glad mr m is with you so you're not on your own. That view when you popped out of the mine was so beautiful though. I've always loved desert mountains must have been a hell of view after being in the dark for so long. Stay safe you two
Gly, is there different mining styles that you could tell us about? It seems that gold, silver, lead and the such as all seem to have Similarities but Suttle differences in technique
Hi Gly & Mister M, wow that ballroom stope was absolutely amazing, you just don't get the scale until someone like Mister M climbs up a bit to show you, awesome. The whole mine was awesome and very technical to get through, you nailed it guys, good job. Thank you for sharing, much love. xx 💖
Gly, as I have said many times before you have never met a ladder you didn't like. Awesome adventure and thanks for taking us along. Mr. M, thanks for being the smart one of the two of you. It must be stressful trying to pass that on to Gly at times, especially concerning ladders, lol. Take care guys and see you next time.
@abandonedandforgottenplaces 10:40 The first Line says “The Bullion” I can make out “trea” 2nd line, maybe it says treasure! :D Thankyou and Mr M for a fantastic exploration n making us feel like part of your uniquely awesome team ^_^
Without a doubt the best episode to date!!! Love all of your mines and especially the geologist’s knowledge. But please take care of yourself and Mr. M!
What a fine mine to explore. Thanks for taking us with you. Love the interplay of you and Mr. M. Would have loved it if Mr. M. had pulled that china tea cup out while he was taking his break!
Hello my friend my name is Bobby from Boston I just got done watching your video the killer Hill Mine you know I watched a lot of guys going in mine but I can tell you this one thing you look like you've got a lot of experience you would be the only person I would feel safe going into a mine with I enjoy your videos and look forward to seeing more in the future take care my friend be careful
I used to love to climb and now can barely walk but still love to explore. Your journey through the old mines make me feel like I am right there with you guys. I did go to craters of the moon out west in the 1990's and in Mt. A place you could dig for crystals and found some nice ones. I even found crystals that were made overnight in Calgary,Ab. Just couldn't wash them and if you did they disappeared or some just exploded. I kept one in a sealed glass cube that I used a vacuum to pull the air out. No moisture to get at it.
Mr. M cracks me up. Very quick witted, and never missies an opportunity to show of his dry humour. That's quite a mine you found there. It's a gift after finding mine after mine with not much to write home about. I can't help it, when helmet cam is in use, I always duck and dodge when you get close to rock. Hehehe. Anyone like that? Looking forward to the next one like that.
Really enjoyed this episode, the size of the ballroom was just mind blowing, I had no idea of the size until Mr. M went ahead of the camera and instantly began to shrink lol Looking forward to next weeks episode :)
An episode well worth waiting for. To think men worked and hollowed out so much is truly amazing. Thank you Gly and Mr M for taking us to this spectacular mine.
Now this is the episode I've been waiting for! What a spectacular mine! The size of that chamber was really hard to see until El Mago walked up into it ahead of you!! I was very surprised to see so few collapses in that mine, despite the huge vaulted chambers inside it! those old timers knew what they were doing, if you didn't put those pillars in tactical spots, the whole mine could become unstable, at least that is how I imagine it would come down, wait until they get nice and deep into the mine with the pillars not placed right and if one gives, it could pull down the curtain long before the show's over! Pass on my appreciation to Mr. M again for me, he is a big inspiration to me, walking and climbing in an abandoned mine, but first he hikes the mile or two to get up the mountain! I know it could not have been easy for him, so please tell him that he's doing a fantastic job especially for being in his 60's I'm more than ten years his junior and he could probably dance rings around me! LOL Really enjoy waking up Saturday mornings and watching your videos, even if they aren't as in depth as you would like but for me it's like seeing a good friend every week! Thanks for doing what you do, you bring light heartedness and enjoyment during a time when it can be a hard time trying to find those things anywhere else! See you next weekend!
Yet another fantastic post gentlemen!! Can I ask what the title of your opening theme tune is as it would make a great ringtone.... and when asked where I got it from I can point them to your channel where I'm sure they'll be instantly hooked !
Swiss cheese mine 😁. Wow what an awesome effort you 2 go to, to show us this mine what an amazing adventure... I look forward to Sunday mornings and your adventures. Keep up the good work. Pete Australia
Epic explore kids. Had me on the edge of my seat, from go to throw. Stay safe out there you two..My Sundays in OZ just wouldn't be the same without you.
What a great episode... Gotta say it was worth the wait. Props to Mr. M and yourself for going the extra distance. 1st ore cart I've seen on an episode. Great find....Ready to see what you have in store for next week...
Wow that looked huge inside. That was a nice ore cart to bad the wheels were gone. Awesome video gly. Thank you and mr. M for taking us with you. Happy Easter to you and mr. M and Mary and everyone else. 👍
Happened across your channel by accident, I'm from the UK. I could watch all day. The fun you have and the banter with Mr M is great. I live very near the Yorkshire Dales which is full of old lead mines but thy are just so wet and dangerous, going into them is a big no no. So watching you two guys having a fun time is a safe way to see how mines are worked, Itching to see next episode, Keep up the good work and thanks for making this possible.
That is an impressive mine. Thank you so much for bringing this to the people, it is great that these important relics are being preserved for posterity through these excellent productions. This mine is so immense and it was great that you were able to take us to the nooks and crannies as well as to the large chambers. I was glad that you were able to see the ore car even though it was devoid of wheels. Thanks again.
This was an awesome mine. It really deserved this two parter. Massive, wow! I look forward to this every Saturday! Thank you Gly and Mr.M for all you do; I've learned so much about mines and geology for you both.
Perfect configuration: entrance at the top, and exit at the bottom))) And extra exit for mr.M in the middle))) That's what I told you: you made it in 2 parts keeping it interesting and with good duration. Very nice mine! I was like: "ok, a ballroom". Then mr.M went forward becoming smaller and smaller. I remember those enormous 20+ft stulls, but it's still impressive workings here!
No idea the size until Mr. M gave us a perspective.
Same!
Beautiful
I've watched enough mine explores to learn that when light has a hard time filling up a space it's a big area. But you are definitely right, you can't tell how big it really is until we get something for perspective.

Gly..if you got the BALLS to go...we sure as heck got the eyeBALLS to see it...
You are amazing....
Shivers down my spine...
Absolutely EPIC...
Oh yes, let’s climb a ladder with one rung, ok maybe not such a good idea, so I’ll just climb up the rock wall....you GO Gly!
Is a ladder with one rung really a ladder?
@@ellyk8834 I think it would be just a lad at that point.
So we all witnessed Gly climb a lad......EWW!

Right?
This has to be one of the Best videos you have made for us to watch. Yes that was a lot of fun.
You ROCK !!!!!
NO PUN INTENDED LOL

We tried to explore the mine youre referencing, but its very collapsed unfortunately.

Now we know who pulled the goodies out of the pillars....

If I could I'd hit the like button a crazy amount of times for this episode
Awesome video Gly and Mr. M.... Keep them coming.
Great video Gly and Mr. M. Saturday's at work are so much better when I can watch your video's.
That was EXCELLENT...such HUGE rooms, amazing what men can do.
I laughed at Mr M's "I'm not gonna fall in that pit" and "the ladder with one rung on it" lol. Great video.
Been waiting all week for this!!
Thanks for sharing one of your first Gly! It’s special to see a artifact like an ore cart in it’s natural habitat. You explored some sketchy areas in this one!
Right like I just started following him not too long ago and I'm absolutely obsessed like he's crazy I can't take my eyes off the screen
