Thank you!!!!!! I’ve been looking everywhere for this info and all I got was how to reset or how to reconnect and I was getting frustrated. I just bought one used, now I know I need to have this installed
the telematics module is well known for failing. it may need updated or totally replaced. I would have to plug into it to know for sure. I always recommend to mopar owners that plan on keeping their vehicle for a long time to invest in the appcar program. just for these types of issues, but if you are near muncy PA I can plug in and check it out free of charge.
I have a question, I recently replaced my aftermarket unit back to an RBZ unit. My car has the connect small plug and harness and I plugged it in. Everything works but says no phone in phone and connect button pushed. Is there a reset to what sends the small harness. It's been unplugged for along time if that matters. Thanks
lol I hear that all the time, “the dealership messed up my radio” but then I pull everything apart and there isn’t a telematics module installed at all lol. So either the vehicle didn’t come with it or the shop removed it, and I doubt that there are shops just removing them lol.
They are pretty transparent about it if you read the owners manual, radio manual, and dealership factory accessories catalogs. The list the various radio versions and their features and options
Hello. I just got a 2013 Jeep Patriot and getting that message. I am assuming it wasn’t installed (uconnect) in the car. Would the uconnect kit work if I purchased and had it installed. The car is for my son and was hoping he would have hands free talking.
You can install a factory telematics module and it may work right off the bat, though it may need enabled by a dealership after installing it. It has been a long while since I have worked on these and cannot recall if they do need enabled or not. I am thinking they don’t but not 100%
Hey. Problem with my uconnect system. I have a 2012 Town & Country Touring. The Uconnect system was working very well, but now, every time i push the phone or vcr button, theres a message on the screen 'Not equipped with uconnect'. Funny thing here is that my phone recognize the uconnect bluetooth and gets linked. And when i make a call i can hear it in the audio system of the van...
Just install a 3 party radio that's what i did fixed the problem if they where a good company, they would just say please contact the dealership to install appropriate software when u press it
I have the 430n with the nav and I'm about to see what I can do to get this rectified but mine says Uconnect phone not available also I was confused thinking maybe I needed a satellite subscription to make it work but it's not even showing up anywhere on the phone so I'm thinking there's no Bluetooth module installed
You pay extra for all features. Some come part of specific option packages and some are add on options. It could be worse like some other high end cars that have these features actually installed and they still make you pay them extra to activate them. This mygig radio doesn’t have an internal Bluetooth module, it is an external telematics module that comes with the higher electronics convenience package. Some people didn’t get the high level package so they didn’t get a telematics module.
I have the mygig stereo with GPS, Bluetooth ,and Satilite radio. I took it out of a 2010 Jeep liberty. I also took the gps module and the rear view mirror (which contains the microphone for the voice control) my problem is the wiring harness. Can anyone make a video explaining how to remove it from the old vehicle. Also, on a side note, the radio from the Jeep liberty went into my 2007 Dodge Nitro and works great. It even switched the logos by itself. The GPS works as good as any from that model year. The bluetooth works flawless except they cant hear me on account of the wiring for the mic isn't connected. If anyone can help with this it would be greatly appreciated. If i figure it out I'll try and make a video to help others with this problem.
to get the uconnect to work you need a telematics module installed as well as the proper rear view mirror with microphone. you can get these items from a dealership or ebay
@@call_me_danger Hey Jacob my truck has the same problem 3 months ago I change the fuse box because the one that came with the truck didn’t work anymore & since I installed the new fuse box, the camera, steering wheel buttons, sensors for backup & the uconnect didn’t work anymore, in this case what should I do ?? I have a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500
@@gedwerhoil1201 do you mean the tipm box? This sounds like a wiring issue, something not connected or blown fuses, or a bad tipm. Or something needs programmed to your vehicle configuration file. It is hard to say with not being able to see it and plug in with a witech
When I bought my Jeep it was originally working and connecting to my phone with no problem. About 8 months ago it just stoped and started giving that same message. Would you know how to fix it at that point???
These modules are known to overheat and die. Sometimes you can get an update that helps, but if it is not responding at all it may need replaced. Without plugging in and checking out the diagnostics, I can’t say anything for sure.
someones trying to sell me a ntg4 ren touchscreen and im upgrading from a 2013 dodge grand caravan stock radio no uconnect or anything and he says it will work without a module for uconnect im wary about buying?
The ren will likely need the extra telematics box. You will also need to make sure the new radio is the same can bus speed as your vehicle. These radios were made in 2 different bus speeds, a ren low speed bus and an ren high speed bus. I know for a fact that in my 2010 Chrysler with the ren mygig, I had to buy the telematics module separately to get the uconnect feature working.
I have a 2005 Town and Country and the Uconnect keeps not working. If I disconnect the battery and reconnect it will work for a few days but then stops working again. HELP!!
That may need an update or the telematics module may be overheating and shutting down. If you have access to someone that can do an update on it, I would try that first. If that doesn’t rectify the issue I would replace the module
What model is the car and the radio? Did the unconnect work before and then stopped? If it did work but stopped, you will likely need a new telematics module. If it has never worked it is likely that your car is not equipped with the telematics system
@@StatikBenz yes, you would need to get a telematics module. Not sure but it may possibly need enabled with a dealership tool to work in a car that didn’t have it from new.
How do I disconnect this ? 2011 dodge caravan 430 RBZ can’t find the module to disconnect it so the radio works but uconnect will disable. Tired of the voice commands and I don’t need the feature
Do I sell these radios? No, not really. I normally just use them for research and building adapter harnesses to use these radios in different vehicles. Can I ask what you are looking for? Or what your final goal is?
I am using just a 12v server power supply. A pc power supply works good, as well as any of those 12v wall warts with around a 5 amp rating that everyone has laying around in junk drawers.
It was an upgraded option package. So you could still get the premium touch screen radio and hard drive in the lower model car, but could then upgrade by installing the telematics module if you wanted.
