Fun(or actually not so fun) fact, the rhynio’s breeding method of impregnating creatures and having the babies burst out is taken from the real life breeding methods of some wasp species. Tarantula Hawks are large wasps that hunt tarantulas and other spiders. When ready to breed, females will find a tarantula, sting it and paralyze it, drag the spider back to its nest, then lay their eggs on it. The eggs hatch on the paralyzed spider, and the larvae eat it. In Ark the creature immediately dies once the baby bursts out, which is for the best since in real life it’s actually a much slower, more horrific process.
Yep, but it doesn't really have anything to do with IRL rhynio, of which we only have a head, I think. Can't remember if it's an amber fossil or an imprint, though.

Phlinger Phoo's video is pretty in depth too. He also does some experimentation, if I remember right. Idk, it's a lot of videos with similar content today, I may be mixing it up.
A little clarification on the "drag weight" It only determines the chance that the Ryhniognatha carries the stats from the host so choosing to use something like a bronto would only be wise if you already breeding brontos for hp stats. Gigas would be great because breeding melee in them is common and already bred pretty high. Having to start a new line of brontos just to get a slightly better chance to carry stats would take more time/space/energy than to just use rexes that you already have hp/melee bred way higher in 9/10. Its cool to note that brontos/gigas/carchas/megas all give the max % conversion of stats BUT the ammount of time it would take to get any of those 4 tames to the stats that most people have their rexes (mine are 150HP, 120Melee) would take months as oppose to just killing a bunch of the rhyniognatha and spam taming with cloned or bred rexes to get the hp/melee i already worked on breeding. Just an important note.
So, IF I get this right: a smaller creature that gets up to 120/120 could actually work out better than a 20/20 Bronto because even though the % of stats carried over is lower. The time to tame, breed and mutate a smaller creature (for example Triceratops or hell, even a Raptor) would be quicker. Kind of balancing out the loss of efficiency in carrying the points over. Do I get this right?
Considering the level thing with movement speed, Quetzals and Wyverns would be the best for this since they don’t get stats in movement speed, making them a better host
@@Lhama36 should do it to anything, the reason Flyers are better is because a 150 won’t have any points into Speed so the rest of their stats get a buff, 60+ is considered great in flyers so using a Wyvern or Quetz with a high HP or damage stat will give the best results
Diplodocus could be good too though no? If I recall they can't be melee mutated since they only have a head shove, nor can they be pointed in melee. Plus the drag weight is way higher.

@@unluckyluchiano6092 i think he is saying its not enough drag weight to be better than the bronto. It will still work sure but the chances of getting a desired stat are much lower since the drag weight is essentially the "luck" for the baby. You could use a rex but in doing so you take a massive chance drop in getting the stats to carry over onto the rhyn. Im no. Bronto/giga/carcha/mega all have a higher drag weight and sit in the "S TIER" chances category while rex would be like A tier, which is still good but not as. Seems like a gamble tame, you take a gamble investment investing with drag weight and then you have to hope you get 5 easy feeds to increase ur odds. With a bronto and 5 feeds its a really good chance to get all stats carried over because the drag weights really high. Rex would be less. Im not sure about pve but in pvp rexes would be the better option though since they are actually bred actively everywhere on pvp servers and getting hp/melee stats in them is more common and "easier" so that chance of stat transfer wouldnt be worth having to start a breed line of brontos to get good hp
@@jestershyper what you're saying makes sense, I gotta say. But wouldn't be the first time a RUclipsr had been wrong about something 🤷 just saying, Syntac thought you needed to beat the King Titan to use Mjolnir
Rexes are okay. So if you have the extra hud on you'll see egg quality %, craving %, and host %. When I tested on my single player it showed that rexes are 78% host where the 4 shown in the video are 100%. So for the best chances of stats passing down you need to do all 5 cravings to get 100% craving. Egg quality is higher % depending on rhynio lvl so a max lvl on any server is 100%. Then host creature gives % by drag weight it seems with the 4 above giving 100%. So you can definitely use rexes, but you'll already have a lower chance to pass down those boss stats.
I thought rexes might be one of the best since once you already own a low level one you can ferry your inpregrated rex back to base for the feedings while you cant do that with the bronto, giga, charchar and so on but are rexes lower on the stats to use for this ? im horrible at the numbers.
its based on drag weight. Rexes drag weight is lower than a gigas, this is also what determines if dinos can go into boss fights or be "dragged" when dead. All the same weird hidden stat, and rex is a step below it
@@jestershyper ahh so even tho its good its one step lower that being able to ferry it home is nice thats such a shame :/ i guess the only options to get it home for those food cravings the long run or a tek skiff if those can carry anything in that drag weight class i dont think it can ?

I feel like this is going to break PvP. I don't have real internet, right now, but I managed to get the update through a hotspot, so I didn't get to check out any PvP servers. However, I did mess around with it on my SP game a bit. I searched for one for hours even did a "destroywilddinos" Went all throughout the swamps on The Island, nothing. I ended up spawning one in, and a saddle, just so I could test. I just kept laughing at it the whole time I played with it. The thing is so absurd and ridiculous. It was level 100 but it was just ruining every dino I attacked. Even went into the water and killed "the sea giga" (Mosa);with it fairly easily. I didn't get the opportunity to fight a real giga, because he just wasn't showing up and I wasn't going to spawn anything else in. I mean, obviously my intention is to kill the spawned Rhynio when I'm done testing it, anyway. My biggest gripe is that it makes all the other flyer useless. With an actual Giga it will do more damage, but a tamed one has less health, and tries to kill you if the health gets too low. There is still reason to have a rex because it's faster, while still packing a great punch and tanking. There's still reason for Carnos and Allow because of their speed and bleed effects. Mosasaurs is tough and heavy hitting, but it's slow, and doesn't have qualities of other sea tames like immunity to jellies and eals. The Rhynio, however, is faster than Pteras and Wyverns, it can do helicopter style directional flying like the Tapejara, it's tougher than the Argy, the stamina seems to last longer than any other flyer, has projectiles like a wyvern etc. What reason, other than sentimental attachments, would I have to use any of my other flyers once I get a Rhynio (I mean legitimately, since the test bug is getting the kill command soon)?
@@Gamer_G33k but they aren't supposed to be. You get my meaning? I think when it was added they may have called it sea giga, but it was trying to take the place of the Mosa. Mosas were originally supposed to be the water equivalent. However, everything that WC has called a "giga" in the past (including Mosas and Quetz) has failed to live up to the actual Giga. That says something. Not sure if it says more about the Giga, or about the failed attempts at recreating the magic, though.
Raas, how do you feed the cravings to the baby inside the host dino? When I was doing mine, I saw that he wanted to be feed.... I had it... but I didn't know to feed it to him! how do I do it? Tks!
Does it matter if It hatches at a low level? Or do people just want it a higher level so they don’t have to level it up as much? Just got back into ark after years
The level it hatches at is it's minimum level. A level 10 baby will max out 10 levels above standard max level and so on. So a max level baby = 2x the stats when actually fully maxed out
This is on an official server right? Im asking beccause ive heard that the bosses are weaker in singleplayer about 67% and we as ark noobs are about to try fighting the broodmother with around 10k health and 400 meele, is it doable or are we gonna get absolutely obliterated?
Trying to get this on a boosted server. I intentionally want it low level so that I can manage what stats to put into it and this create a god, like I did with the multiple enforcers at our base… but we don’t talk about what happened to them.

Have you tried using boss rexes? That's what i was going to use before you mentioned the drag weight thing, but stat wise do you think that'll work?
Not enough drag weight
@@Raasclark what on earth are you talking about, if a trike or a Shadowmane works, a Rex has a higher drag weight. Shadowmane is 350, Trike is 300. A Rex is 550, how is that not enough?
Do you have to feed them all the expensive things
Thanks rass ❤❤
So can you get damage into them and how do u multiply them into more can u impregnate your own tames ?
Finally got my first one from a 140. Used a 245 trike for it and got some decent stats.
But I crave more… Bronto taming time!
If you’re trying to get it to impregnate more than one dino is there a method to that or does it only happen by chance?
sooooo my understanding is that drag weight affects the BASE stats and then then the levels of the parasitized creature are passed on to the baby Rhynio just like breeding?
i wonder if a titanosaur would work
Then it untames middle of the process and kills you
@@GermelDaGreat unless you play on unofficial servers/singleplayer and turn off the timer for taming titanosaurs. I'm honestly just curious how it would affect the stats.
Mk
I know you can’t cryopod an impregnated creature but I wonder if you can transfer it since when u get impregnated by a reaper you keep the baby on transfer
Does this one work with wild Rhynio or can I use an already tamed one?
Can I get any tips on ark because I’m not the best
Please Use a Titansuar, Extinction Titans, and even Try with a Mek be it a Exo-Mech or other.. I want to see if those can be used as "Hosts"
its metioned that they need to be breedable creatures to be a host
what about Quetzls or other flying dinos? Since they don't have speed stats, would that help with maxing out the level?
Raasclark i have a question how much time is needed to a baby rhynio to born in official? Bc i have another question if the baby come out less than 24h could we use the tita to make a baby rhynio? I have also thought the titans in extintion but you know……
Curious to know if you can KO and get the pheromone like megalania toxin. That would be handy
no
Can you make a list of all the carving items?
Has anyone tested the effect of breeding it with x or r variants? Id be interested to see if any of the special effects of those carry over
Rass can a Rhygniognatha can impregnated a tame one to combine the different stats you want together.

@@Raasclark omg RassClark respond me try this plz
Lets be honest, Tuso's are the Sea Gigas
@@Gamer_G33kyou read the entire comment and that’s what you have to say😂😂
@@Gamer_G33k but they aren't supposed to be. You get my meaning? I think when it was added they may have called it sea giga, but it was trying to take the place of the Mosa. Mosas were originally supposed to be the water equivalent.
However, everything that WC has called a "giga" in the past (including Mosas and Quetz) has failed to live up to the actual Giga. That says something. Not sure if it says more about the Giga, or about the failed attempts at recreating the magic, though.
Is this creature in vanilla ark or a mod like ark additions? Sorry if it’s a bit silly question I was just wondering
Vanilla
@@Raasclark OMGGGG YOU REPLIED, LOVE YOUR VIDS SM❤️
Raas, how do you feed the cravings to the baby inside the host dino? When I was doing mine, I saw that he wanted to be feed.... I had it... but I didn't know to feed it to him! how do I do it? Tks!
Bring up the wheel on the dino, you’ll see the item there on the wheel. It’s a strange they’d changed it but it still works well.
@@official23ro thank you
got a 77 rhynio with a 171 Bronto and out came a lvl 33 baby. bronto got 5k drag weight and i fed the baby 1 item from the list. what was the problem
love your videos
I have been looking for hours and I can't find one do you know where the spawns are?
Our savior is here!
Can u do this to titanosaurus?
How is that giga at full health basically when prego??
Will it starve to death before it gives birth???
1 question: Does impregnating a tek dino cause the baby Rhynio to become the tek version as well?
this is a dumb question but ill answer, no you cant breed tek dinos with rhyniog
does fertilized eggs work in place of normal eggs?
Yes
@@Fep59691 good to know... much easier to get on the fly...
Flying reaper
you can trap and reuse them. syntac did a video showing this.
Can you upload the pregnant dino into the ark to transfer them to a different map?
@raasclark is this you or a scam
Trying to get this on a boosted server. I intentionally want it low level so that I can manage what stats to put into it and this create a god, like I did with the multiple enforcers at our base… but we don’t talk about what happened to them.
Wait can u tske these to boss battles?
What is the best host if i want hp+ melee dmg already so i can put rest in speed or stamina?
any of the creatures show in the vid mutated with alot of hp and melee
