This was one of the most devistating moments I've seen in TV in a while. The editing, the song, Pete trying to protect claudia, *Claudia's wail* God it still gets me. That's just some *quality* tv, wow.
Rewatching the whole series and just got to this ep and as soon as the song started I remembered what happens and I instantly had tears welling... beautiful song used in the perfect spot...
Watching people come back to this because of the song becoming big again from Stranger Things makes me so happy that we all remember Warehouse 13 and how impactful it was on all of us!
I haven't watched season 4 yet but my daughter shared that version with me to cheer me up. Oh god no! Even that version makes me want to cry. Lol. Sad scene but it just makes me appreciate the cast and crew even more. I loved this show.
Both versions are very good, this version captures the anger and sadness Claudia and the gang felt at Steve’s (Warehouse 13’s Steve NOT Stranger things Steve) death.
So agree! I mean the whole scene was heart wrenching but when Pete said please get back in the car and the look on his face killed me! He really killed it in that moment as far as acting.
I'm still watching WH13 in 2024. This show has made such an impact on my life. Every watch through I do I completely forget about this scene, but when I watch I cry every time because the emotion is built so well.
we just got to this episode today. its been about 5 years since last time we watched and I kinda forgot about it. Eddie McClintock really nails his part and pulls the heart strings
First time watcher of W13 here - Wow, that entire sequence was a powerhouse of acting, directing and editing. Pete's face, Claudia's scream, Myka's terror.
the quiet "get back in the car" and Claudia's wail....the way she had the same look she did when Josh was trapped and when she found claire. steve wasn't just her partner, or her best friend, he was her brother. and he looked at her like a sister. this makes me cry every single time like a baby
This scene is a stand out for actress Allison Scagliotti. It is her definitive moment from Warehouse 13. She had to have had some emotional connection to this material as she took this scene into outer space and beyond. You can tell she was living in the moment, gave it all she had, and you felt like you were actually with her all the way through. The final scream made my blood curl like fingers scratching across a chalkboard. Thank you Allison for delivering such a disturbing and authentic performance. For many fans, and for those that dismissed this series as Sci-Fi dribble, you helped elevate Warehouse 13 to a new level. Thanks again to everyone from Warehouse 13 ... we miss you!
All of them were fantastic, I only wish they'd been given the full run they deserved for the final season, it was still wrapped up nicely, but they had to rush some things I wish could have had more time.
I’d love a continuation of the series following Claudia’s training to become caretaker, and after the first season she takes over for Mrs. F, with a new team. We’d see the team depart/pass one by one, maybe even see Pete and Myka’s wedding (possibly an artifact involved), until finally Pete retires and hopefully joins Myka. A whole new team introduced over the course of the first season, filling the holes left by those leaving, and Claudia’s necklace gaining skulls.
I'd disagree bc it's the moment I realized Ed McClintock could act. Al has a great role, but he steals the scene for me since I prev was entirely unimpressed.
@@nekogod s5 didn't sell it for me, actually would have preferred they wrapped at s4, but that might just be down to the last minute Pete/Mikes they shoehorned in.
I literally can't hear this song in any version without getting really sad. The scene affected me so much and I sort of love the show all the more of it. At the end of the day all I can ask for from a show is to make me FEEL and that episode is probably the most I've ever felt from a live-action tv show.
The part where Pete is trying to protect Claudia, telling her to get back in the car, while he himself is also trying to keep it together adds even more power to the scene.
Yeah.. I first heard this song in 'that' episode in Warehouse 13. It makes me sick, it makes me cry. It was so sad. The soundtrack to Warehouse 13 is just amazing. So well put together. I love this series.
Rewatching it now and just saw this episode again. The song started to hit the feels then the memories started to flood back. Not how he was killed but the emotions. Wow. Literally tears are flowing as I write this.
Interestingly enough, despite watching the show when i was younger and rewatching it not too long ago, i had no idea that this song was in the show until yesterday, when i wanted to look up the title theme and this got suggested to me by the algorithm (Thanks to me excessively listening to the original because of Stranger Things)
6 years later I still cant watch this scene without tearing up, and I'm a 48 year old dude. As soon as Pete says get back to the car you know shit's bad and the music hits the right note at just that right moment. Damn.
one of the saddest and best endings to a show if this didn't move you nothing will they should bring this show back so damn good claudia's yell just gave you chills
I miss Warehouse 13. My favorite show. I still watch all the episodes. Pete & Jinksy were hot & still are but I had a crush on Arnie. Theres just something about him that reminds me of goodness💜
As much as I love the song on its own merits, my favorite thing about it is how perfect it is for That Scene. It's about wishing to sacrifice yourself for someone you love. Then, Claudia did what she did...
Been years since I watched the scene, and yet when that drum beat dropped, I still felt every chill and remembered the heartache of that scream. Still lives with me to this day. Stranger things has nothing on this.
First song I ever learned on piano. I can still play it to this day. And today, the love of my life is in the hospital and I can’t help but hear it around every corner.
I listened to this recently & ended up buying WH13 on disc. One of my favorite programs ever. The section where this is played ALWAYS brings me to tears. So, so much better show than the bs on now.
Just binge watched this show again after almost 10 years, and this episode still gives me goosebumps. Kind of took away the gravity when they brought jinks back with the plot-device they call a metronome, but the initial reveal was still insanely emotional.
I remember i was just a wee kid when i watched this show, this was the first time i ever actually cried because of a show. One of the best shows when it comes to the characters, Steve was only there for a little while but it hurt so much.
I saw Judas Priest in March. Two nights in a row. The first night was at Mohegan sun arena in Connecticut. The next night was in Worcester. I got my tickets late, so I was in the back where it was general admission and no seats, just people standing. It was sold out, so it was crowded. I stood in front of two guys. They were huge. Just watching WH13 for the third time and can't wait to reach the scene of this song! Really perfectly directed and edited, and I think is one of best edit in TV series history! Hope to see a new WH13 season!

This was the scene where I knew without a shadow of doubt that my roommate was a sociopath. I had numerous hints throughout our friendship / roommateship that something was a little off about him. And there was. It was an inability to feel emotionally. There were five of us watching this episode ( we had a couple friends who were hanging out that evening ) and during that scene there wasn't a dry eye in the house ...... except his. I looked over at him and saw this familiar stoney look I sometime see in him during emotional moments. But this was the clencher, what an incredibly, powerfully emotional scene.

@@kacektv9405 same here!
I'm rewatching the show and I started to bawl before the music even started, and then when the beat started I couldn't handle it. This is my favorite cover of Running Up that Hill.
This episode was hard...
If i got a nickel for every time one of my favourite TV shows used Running Up That Hill in combination with a character death that wasn't technically a character death, i'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but its weird that that happened twice.
I was wondering why I heard this song play on the radio. I haven't watched stranger things but I can already tell you that this version of the song is the best one.
wonderful
Just got to this episode again 😞
edit: watching stranger things and i instantly recognised the song even with it being a different version
just awesomeness!!
