This is the most heartbreaking TV scene I've ever seen, and by far the best version of this song. I can barely hold back tears any time i see this scene. Pete trying his best and his voice cracking trying to stop Claudia is the thing that usually breaks me. Amazing scene and use of music. Top marks. Bastards 😂 Soul crushing Falls just behind the use of Only You (Yazoo) in Fringe for use of music
Devastating sequence. After seeing how proud and euphoric Claudia was when Steve told her the truth (and truly realising how much he means to her), to hear her wail is heartbreaking. Seeing Pete's reaction and Myka's terror just makes for amazing TV.
I can‘t hear the song „Running up that hill“ without crying. Claudias scream was so heartbreaking. 😔 I had seen this episode in the night and i started to cry. My mum came into my bedroom and was listening me. I describing her why i was crying. 😔
Pete practically begging her to get back in the car breaks me, he's barely holding himself together and doesn't want to see her suffer. makes me cry every time.
The most underappreciated example of acting i have ever seen. How his voice breaks shows how deeply connected he is. I mean: I love Claudia and deeply feel her break as she cries out. But this is easy to play. This parental care with true love for Claudia reflected mine. He was shocked and wanted to cry himself, but he tried to be strong for Claudia. Not because of some weird Manhood-Fascism, but because he knew it would break her. He didn't even had the strength to stop her from passing by. This is a great example of genius level Acting. Petes Character was poorly written and this scene was the peak of emotional content. And the actor made it sooo good. I cry literally ever time i see this.
One of the most powerful scenes I have ever seen. The song is perfect. I am really glad they decided to air both episodes back-to-back, because this as a cliffhanger for the last episode would have been a bitch.
In a way, I almost wanted Steve to STAY dead. That episode ending is harrowing. EVERYONE knocks it out of the park. Resurrecting Steve felt like a cop-out, much as I love the guy.
What makes this sadder is I think Jinks knew how it was going to end. Listen to the young lad's voice when announcing the plane is ready to go and Jinks' face immediately after. Also, Pete's face when he looks at Myka as Claudia goes up stairs; he knows what's coming and there's nothing he can do to stop it.
It feels wierd to hear the Song even its the Original which they used in Stranger Things cuz every time I hear the Notes its bring me back to this Scene.
That moment "He volunteered. He had alot of experience going undercover at ATF... and he had been here the briefest." When you realise how much everyone meant to Jinks, because even though he hadn't been there long: He volunteered to become a traitor to save his friends...
@@danielrussell3408 currently I could only find the cover on RUclips. Running up that hill by Track and Field. Otherwise the originals can be found on Spotify/Apple Music.
I watched this scene and I knew something bad was going to happen but oh my god Pete is my favourite character I wouldn’t have expected it to be Steve.
Just re-watched this on nowtv and they slightly cut the scene so you couldn't really see Steve in the awkward position, it did take away from the emotion but I hate it when they cut perfect scenes
It's not Placebo, I was told by a contact at the show that it was created specifically for the show by a band called Track & Field. She's hoping to make it available to the public soon.
@juliamaxwell31 Although it's true that Allison Scagliotti twittered that the performance of Running Up That Hill was by Track and Field, I think it was really by the group called Stars of Track and Field. The group, Track and Field (Track n Field) only performs instrumentals. Whoever it is, I want it!
This hole thing was actually really, REALLY, sad. Even though I did'nt even liked Jinx :(. But I have to say that they really nailed with the music on this one.
@lil0paladie0girl Actually this isn't Placebo. They never did an acoustic version of this song. A group called Track and Field performed this. Allison Scagliotti confirmed it on her Twitter account yesterday. Just trying to give credit where it is due :)
One of the saddest things I’ve ever seen on TV. Such an incredible scene.

I cried when i saw this, i could tell what was coming and it broke my heart when she screamed. I love Jinks, i hope they bring him back
Yes we have.
I have good news

Right there with you buddy - typed as a tear rolls down my cheek.
He has been confronted by death of both comrades in arms, and close family before but never like this

In the uk they aired them a week apart, i cried for 7 days 😭

Thrills! Everytime! Even years later
It still hits right in the feels

This version is by Placebo though, I think
This definitely sounds like Placebo, Brian Molko has a distinctive voice.
Powerful scenes. This episode killed me. I really liked Jinks and Claudia/Jinks friendship. So sad
Claudia's scream breaks my heart to pieces
it was heartbreaking to see claudia and petes reaction
This still hurts. Eventhough I know what happened after, I just cant stop crying
AHHHHH! not out in the UK yet! can someone please put it on youtube so there is at least something before i can get it on itunes. pretty please!!!
@DannyRodd88 I just did a search on iTunes for Running Up That Hill and it came up as the 7th one listed, under songs.
