      Teething issues are to be expected when a brand new firearm hits the market, even Glocks had issues when they first came out.
      But Taurus sold junk for years, back in the day, buying their guns was a gamble. Until recently, the only Taurus worth getting was the Beretta 92 clone. Now I will admit that their quality has gone up since then but that doesn't change the fact that they've earned the crappy reputation they have by selling lemons for years

I just hate the P320 X-Compact optic plate on the slide, because the location of the holes (for the screws on the bottom of the slide) jam up on the disconnector. It's one of their worst design flaws they've ever made in my opinion. Would gladly trade an x-compact slide for a subcompact slide of equal quality. (sorry for the rant).

    • @secondamendment8773
      @secondamendment8773 3 года назад +1

      @@hocuspocus4871 I disagree. Offering options for shooters that want additional features only broadens the market the gun will appeal to.
      Just because you don’t want those options doesn’t mean that others won’t.
      The average age of gun owners is skewing older every year and older people have problems seeing iron sights so red dots are appealing to them. Additionally, lots of people can’t afford multiple guns so there everyday carry is also their home defense gun which would mean that the ability to add a light could be a benefit. Having the option to mount a red dot and a light doesn’t mean you have to. Only that you can if you want to.

    • @hocuspocus4871
      @hocuspocus4871 3 года назад +4

      @@secondamendment8773 If you are inclined to put a red dot on it, then get a dovetail mount for the red dot.
      If you can only afford one firearm @$300, you won't be able to afford a red dot and a light. Your money would be better spent getting a pump shotgun for home defense. The purpose of a micro compact is concealability, by adding lights, red dots, etc, you are hindering greatly compromising the concealability of the firearm. It makes as much sense as pulling a 1 ton dually 4x4 truck and lowering it so it can't go over a speed bump or tow/haul anything.

      Agreed with the RD issue the gun is small. If you have set for RD sighting then that is time off the clock which you may or may not have. I put a RD on my GX4 and my G2c. Both are nice when you are at the range ..but in a defensive situation. You will not have the time . And targets are moving. I have since put a good pair sights on both guns. Now a laser I can see for a reference point..but taking time to look through red ? Is time you will not have. Me I'm going to point and shoot.

Can't wait to see what parts Lakeline comes out with for it in the near future but as for now the only thing I would change after roughly 1000 rounds is the sights. @@sterlingmack5394 The G2C is comfortable and been super reliable for me, it's fed the shittiest ammo and the best ammo no problem. It's taken a few swims in nasty river water, been dropped in dirt and mud, thrown around and abused, not once have I had a malfunction of any short and I'm absolutely terrible about cleaning it. It's chewed through 5k+ rounds in 2 years and still shots like the day I bought it. The GX4 on the other hand feels smoother. The trigger is a million times better, recoil is much easier to manage, it doesn't feel as spongey on the trigger, there's less give to the wall and breaks a lot cleaner. I find it more comfortable to carry for my day to day work/activities due to the slightly smaller size. But it's not too small like a LCP that it's a pain to fire and maintain control over. The comments here amuse me because everyone is biased in favor of what they own. I guess I'm very fortunate to have accumulated several very nice pistols from micro to full-size duty from the more "prominent" gun companies, from .380 to .45, and have a nice place nearby to shoot and practice quite often. I would put any of the five Taurus pistols I own up against my Glocks, Sigs, Rugers, or Smith & Wessons any time. They are now making top notch guns at much lower prices than their competitors. I just bought this Taurus GX4 but haven't fired it yet. I fully anticipate that it will be just as good as it shows in this video, like the others I own. Great video brother 👍

    In the past, Taurus semi-autos (24/7, Millennium, etc.) they always came with a manual safety, like it or not. They also fit each and every gun with their internal lock, named it Taurus Security System, again whether you liked it/wanted it or not. That's their attitude, shoving their ideals down the users' throat. This time around they forgot to give us a manual safety version, still take it or leave it.
    When SIG P365 first came, I immediately voiced I'd like to see a manual safety version. SIG promised right away there would be a version with manual safety coming. And one year later, in 2019, they fulfilled their promise. That's when I bought my 365 with manual safety. SIG's not perfect (that's Gaston), but whatever problem(s) they have, I like the way they do business: customer oriented. GX4 was released May of 2021, so it's been over a year now. I haven't heard anything about a manual safety on GX4 :)

    Academy is selling the gx4 for $399 in Olive Branch, MS - just outside Memphis, TN.. That's why I got the g3c with 3 12rd mags and that was $299. Esit- moving to Jan 27,23- I bought one for $327 same place. I hoped I could hold on to it but my arthritis wins. I got 2 rounds out and my thumb and wrist said - don't do that again. I could barely hold the thing and put it up. I'm 74 and can handle the G2C40 well enough, G3C a little easier, and a Hellcat has a little more jump. I don't enjoy 50 rounds of those, but the Gx4 just wins the ouch test.

      I own two of them and they both work very well. There are certain models that they've made that were always good and a few models that were frequently bad. I don't think any of their current models are bad. Although maybe a couple of them are in bad taste aesthetically or are a generally impractical idea. I have a mid-80s PT99 AF. I don't know the exact count but it's got over 90 k through it. It's a great gun. This legitimately smoother than several Berettas that I've tried. I tried other Taurus 92-ish things that didn't have as good a trigger. So it depends on which model you're looking at. I don't think I'd be in a hurry to buy a curve except for as a collector's piece or probably a early '90s model '85 unless I got to inspect it carefully. But I wouldn't be afraid to buy a G2 a G3 or GX4.

    I have the G2C (which is a great little 9mm) and, ever since the G3C came out, I've been thinking of upgrading to a newer Taurus G series model, but the lack of a rail on the GX4 like the G2C makes this a no-go for me, since all my newer pistols have a combo light and laser. When the GX4 gets a rail, it'll be a whole other story for me. I'd probably also opt out until there was an optics cut.

    Last month I bought a Hellcat Pro along with the Gx4 thinking the Pro's U notch sight would be an advantage but to my surprise, the Gx4 kept the shots more to my point of aim. Maybe due to it's lighter trigger, and a grip angle closer to a Glock's which I'm mostly used to shooting.
