Thanks for the video. I am now a proud owner of X-Plane and the Reality Pack. I will soon start flying lessons and I wanted a simulator to reinforce what I learn. Amazing!
Paul Sneyd It’s not that difficult but if you want a difficult thing to do then do the install of the global/entire world install and it takes about 6 to 8 hours:)
2 Questions: First, how does this compare to airfoil labs in terms of realism? Second, when you do stall test in the future can you pls stall the aircraft until it plunges just to see how realistic that is? Because, say the zibo 737 for example, it doesnt stall, u get warning, it falls slowing, then it goes back up and gains altitude even tho im at 100 knots or lower.... Is that the way 737s are suppose to behave? lol.
I am surprised by this default model since the interior and exterior details of the 3D model are extremely sharp and very high quality, I have not seen this in other default models, and with the REP is an unmissable combo
Great review buddy! Looks like a really great plugin :-) Nice that it did in fact register tear and wear on the tires by landing sideways :-D ... I'm just teasing, those crosswind landings can be tricky ;-) Keep it up! ;-)
just curious, how did you start the plane with the fuel shutoff valve pulled out(just before setting the fuel selector to both) ? does it do anything/is it modelled? seems odd that you were able to have the engine running with the valve at cutoff.
I couldn't help but notice in the video when you were doing sharp turns, just as in the default 172 the ball in the turn coordinator barely moves which is completely not realistic. I've noticed that a lot of people have not commented on this and to me I feel that this is a major flaw. One should have to enter the correct amount of rudder input to coordinate the turn. When I called Laminar, they were unaware of this and said they would "get to it in a few months" :(. What's your take on this?
Marvyn Mujuni I have both... now. Because the Airfoillabs one finally freaked me out with all its unexpected glitches. What can I say - the Airfoils' one is like a young hysterical pony. The REP is smooth, forgiving and comfortable to fly. Which one is more realistic it's up to you to decide. Although Airfoils have a bunch of cool visuals - fog, rain etc
I have a question: X-plane has a Saitek yoke designator for all the parameters & calibration, but I don’t see a place to allowing use of the Saitek rudder pedals and toe brakes for parameters and calibration. Help!
I just look at your video I don't understand why the plane started when you fuel shut off valve it's pull out .it's on the cutoff position maybe they have a bug to fix this.
Great video for this addon I just bought. Curious though... what addon gives you your taxiway signs at the airport? They are as clear as real life and seem to be much better than the default signs even at high res.
The prop is always off center and looks phony, compared to others, even with FOV changes in the stock 172sp. Hope REP can fix this. I have used AFL 172sp for 3 years now and it needs to be upgraded. Probably has been neglected due to AFL KA 350 and scenery have been focus of attention. The full flaps have way too much drag and a few other perf related issues. Sad, great aircraft, but will will have to go. Can't recommend it anymore in XP 11. The stock 172sp handles and performs pretty good. Feels lightweight with good FPS. Hope stock 172 with REP does forward slips. The power off stall could have fallen off a bit more. At least the stall horn went on. Try an uncoordinated power on stall. See if it drops a wing! Thanks for the video. No offense, this is what reviews are for, right?
It would be useful to show how to use the Prop lever in fixed RPM planes. Since the update to XP 11.10 I have to adjust the gryo in the Cessna to magnetic north. I think this is a bit of overkill. I only use this plane to view scenery.
The image of the prop radius is pretty fake. Also the Radio stack, for instrument approaches, etc in the Airfoil Labs 172sp is much more realistic, Including the KAP140 AP, intercom etc. It only has GNS 430 but this is more like a real world 172sp training rental. Not sure how plane started with fuel shutoff pulled out... hmm. The AP in this aircraft is pretty fake, nothing like in the real world. Thanks for the videos. I have used both aircraft, Hands down AFL 172sp is better. I don't work for them or receive any comp. Simply my opinion because some in this comment section have asked which is better. Thanks
@Q8 pilot could you do a video with the 737 800 zibo mod doing a go around or fly to your alternate this is something im really curious on how to do please ! and Happy new year
Hi, in the video show that the cessna has a bug, I dont know whether is the Laminar mistake or the plug in. How you can turn on and run the engine with the full cut-off on (Pull out)?, should not be a fuel flow.
I tried this with the laminar non g1000 c172 in 11.10. Couldn't get the engine running. Also says "Fuel shut off" and jumps the fuel selector switch to "off." Dunno what's going on the video though.
It is not a bug. The behaviour shown in the video is exactly what a real C172S would do. You start fuel injected engines with the mixture at full cut-off. Note that the engine was primed first.
You are correct. The Fuel Shut-Off Valve (clicked at 5:20 in the video) should be fully in. If you pull it out, in the real aircraft, fuel will not flow. You would also start the aircraft with the mixture fully lean (red mixture control pulled fully out), and you would have both sides of the red master switch turned on (next to the key). (I am a PPL that flies the Cessna C172 in real life.)
Lars-Henrik Eriksson good luck trying to start any aircraft with fuel cutoff lever pulled out in real life. Maybe mixture, but fuel cutoff? Those are separate levers.
Great video! Just one question: if in the maintanace section some things are not in good condition, such as the tires, will the aircraft handling differently?
Yes, if your spark plugs are fouling it won't run ok. For the tires, I haven't really tested the effect, but I recall in previous versions of the carenado REP taxing becomes harder.
Ok, makes sense! By the way, I was wondering if you could have a look at the review I did of the Short Final Design Albuquerque video just for some feedback or consults, as I am really trying to get my channel up and running now that I have a better computer that is capable of running something like x-plane. Thank you, I would really appreciate it!
How can I upload a flight plan created in simbrief to the A320's MCDU? What format should I save this flight plan? Finally, what folder of x-plane 11 should I save these flight plans to? Have a great week and great flights. keep these videos coming. They are awesome!!! Fabio
Thanks for the review :) I would just like to ask, how would you compare this to the Airfoil Labs Cessna 172. Which one do you prefer? I am just thinking about getting a good Cessna 172 and this is the decision I am currently making.
Thanks for this review, Osamah! Couple of questions: 1. How do you feel this compares to the AFL c172? 2. I thought I read somewhere that you have a PPL IRL...true? If so can you speak to which is closer to the real thing in flight dynamics?
The AFL 172 is much better in terms of failure simulation, flight model, and generally aircraft handling, but it comes at a higher price. This is a good alternative if you are on a budget. Through my experience with this aircraft model in real life, the AFL C172 is a more successful aircraft, but REP and the Default cessna is not that much far behind.
I have no idea how you make your X-Plane looking so realistic. Could you make a video on this explaining how you do it and what addons yo use? Like your Ortho4XP resolution and tweaking addons + shaders...etc. BTW are you using X-Enviro or soft clouds? Plus are you using Abdullah Al-Muntassir Sky Colors?
Looks like you have ruined your spark plugs =) This is a feature of simcoders and it is very realistic. You need to be careful during taxi. Lean the mixture or your spark plugs will foul. Go to the maintenance tab and replace your sparkplug and start the engine again. You should be ok.
Should lean for ground operations as explained in Cessna POH. Depends on density altitude etc but basically should always lean while taxiing in sims. In real 172sp might get a bit of roughness. Make sure use checklists to remind to set mixture rich on takeoff.
Another video about the FF A320 wouldn't be bad either ( I'd like to know how it's progressing and what systems are simulated before I part with my cash....because that will be an expensive plane )
Thanks for the video. I am now a proud owner of X-Plane and the Reality Pack. I will soon start flying lessons and I wanted a simulator to reinforce what I learn. Amazing!
Hi was it difficult to install to xplane ?
Paul Sneyd It’s not that difficult but if you want a difficult thing to do then do the install of the global/entire world install and it takes about 6 to 8 hours:)

wait a minute, why did you pull the fuel shutoff valve out? And how is the engine running without fuel? lol
I am surprised by this default model since the interior and exterior details of the 3D model are extremely sharp and very high quality, I have not seen this in other default models, and with the REP is an unmissable combo
Nice plane mate. Great full review! 👍
Thanks a bunch captain =)
Great review buddy! Looks like a really great plugin :-) Nice that it did in fact register tear and wear on the tires by landing sideways :-D ... I'm just teasing, those crosswind landings can be tricky ;-) Keep it up! ;-)
Thanks buddy! hehe yeah sometimes even a bad landing serves a purpose in flight sim, but hey we made it all in one piece =)
Again a Good unbiased user review of the addon. The scenery looks great
Thanks a heap Vic! The scenery is absolutely marvelous; one of the best for XP11.
Thanks for sharing this! I just got the X-Plane 11 DVD set and this is on my list to checkout.
You will not be disappointed; happy flying!
just curious, how did you start the plane with the fuel shutoff valve pulled out(just before setting the fuel selector to both) ? does it do anything/is it modelled? seems odd that you were able to have the engine running with the valve at cutoff.
Great review! This really helped me decide if I want to invest in the REP line of products.
The propeller markings don't exist on the real aircraft from the inner side (pilot view). This is just annoying during flight.
Hi. At this date, for vfr and ifr training, would toi suggest this pack or thé airfoillabs c172 ?
Great review, looks like a definite purchase. Thanks for sharing
Thank you for watching my friend!
Very nice! I fly out of Arlington at Arlington Flight Services, so I’ll have to get this for the X Plane I got for Christmas. 😎
Glad you liked it =)
my good! the scenery is amazing

would you recommend getting this instead of the airfoils 172 skyhawk?
My cessna 172 REP for some reason doesn't have that moving needle RPM feature, why is that?
Anyone know if this is compatible with xplane 11.20v6 default c172 in VR?
@Q8 Pilot, Another create video! thx Captain. What do you prefer the Airfoillabs c172 SP or the Simcoders REP for the default Cessna 172?
...and why?
Marvyn Mujuni I have both... now. Because the Airfoillabs one finally freaked me out with all its unexpected glitches. What can I say - the Airfoils' one is like a young hysterical pony. Hello, great review! Looks pretty good
Apparently there is no stress factor on the aircraft frae - I'm able to do craziest movements on speeds above Vmax and still not loose control
Would've loved to see you put in the crosswind correction to see how the aerodynamics were.
I keep getting a install error . I'm installing per there instructions as best I can. Tried it several ways but no luck.
I just look at your video I don't understand why the plane started when you fuel shut off valve it's pull out .it's on the cutoff position maybe they have a bug to fix this.
I guess this is a bug, but not sure if it is an LM or REP issue.
Q8, great video, just bought REP because of that. I do no have the needle vibration effect, any idea how to enable that? tnx
I don't know why but all my scencry airport will not load into X plane.. It worked before.
Great video for this addon I just bought. Curious though... what addon gives you your taxiway signs at the airport? They are as clear as real life and seem to be much better than the default signs even at high res.
Another great video! Just wondering how you have PBR on the runway at 7:25. Is this because KAWO was purchased and the developer added it?
Thanks for watching, yes the airport is Payware and reflective lighting is a new feature in XP11 that the developer has taken advantage of.
The prop is always off center and looks phony, compared to others, even with FOV changes in the stock 172sp. Hope REP can fix this. I have used AFL 172sp for 3 years now and it needs to be upgraded. And thank you for your support as always Manley =)

Q8Pilot thanks very much i appreciate the consideration

Right. Strange with the fuel cut-off, but the handling of the mixture lever is correct.

Fabio
There is a format for the JARDesign aircraft. It should be placed in the aircraft plans folder.
Thanks for the review :) I would just like to ask, how would you compare this to the Airfoil Labs Cessna 172. Which one do you prefer? I am just thinking about getting a good Cessna 172 and this is the decision I am currently making.
Personally, I would go for the AirfoilsLabs Cessna 172, but then it cost more. This is a good alternative if you are on a budget.
Thanks for the reply! :) I think I like the AFL 172 more from what I see, so will probably save up for it.
Hi Q8Pilot, would you say the AFL beats the REP for c172 default on flight dynamics?
Thanks for this review, Osamah! Couple of questions: 1. How do you feel this compares to the AFL c172? 2. I thought I read somewhere that you have a PPL IRL...true? If so can you speak to which is closer to the real thing in flight dynamics?

Already done a video not too long ago explaining all my add ons.
how come it always say my sparkplugs are fouled and then the engine shutsdown?
Looks like you have ruined your spark plugs =) This is a feature of simcoders and it is very realistic.
You need to be careful during taxi. Lean the mixture or your spark plugs will foul.
Go to the maintenance tab and replace your sparkplug and start the engine again. You should be ok.
LOL its a bit unreal never once did we in flight school lean a 172 on the ground, maybe to clear a a bit of roughness at runup but never taxiing.
Should lean for ground operations as explained in Cessna POH. Depends on density altitude etc but basically should always lean while taxiing in sims. In real 172sp might get a bit of roughness. Make sure use checklists to remind to set mixture rich on takeoff.
Can you advice top 5 planes here please? :-) So i can go learn some plane. Thx!
Will it do spins with this expansion?
Hi how do I get the tach to studded like that ,is there a setting
Not sure I follow you sorry.
@@Q8Pilot sorry ,lol there is a setting that makes the plane older rental and the tachometer shakes a little bit . I found it in plug-in for the rep
@@johnpesale3896 I don't think REP has this feature.
@@Q8Pilot I found it I. The plug in folder for the REP 172. Select old rental plane and the tachometer vibrates a little
Thanks! Good video.
Thanks for watching!
What is the weather addon you are using on this video?
Nothing, default XP11 weather.
Have you given up on XE or SMP for the time being? Or is the default improved enough to not need those plugins?
Can u do another top 5 planes to get for x plane!
Yes things have changed, sure I will make a note of this for a future video.
Another video about the FF A320 wouldn't be bad either ( I'd like to know how it's progressing and what systems are simulated before I part with my cash....because that will be an expensive plane )
Q8 PILOT please do a video of auto gate plugin how to install it
Thank you for the review, wonder what it would be like in VR, are you going to try it? Regards.
My oculus rift is on the way =)
Just received mine, busy setting it up now:)
How are you going to announce the giveaway winners?
The winners have been announced through the widget.
Just noticed DG not set LOL so much for checklist
Took me a few hours but I found the Gateway manager :P
Well done and good luck!
Will this work in VR ?
no, the menus and stuff on screen doesn't show up. im making a txt file for the checklists so I can do it in VR anyway
nice
Thanks!
I think you just wrote: "8 TB HD" instead of "8 TB HDD" in your channel description xD
👍
Missed the give away :-(
Where are you from
I am a Kuwaiti national.
I got the first like and comment
Thanks for your help, because this im unsubscribe!!!

Why you sound like you got your computer setup in a subway tunnel?
sounds ok to me
Kaipeternicolas he has mentioned before that he’s tried multiple things to remove the echo but they haven’t worked.
It is a lot better than it used to be
Maybe move the computer in a room and out of the subway tunnel?
Not everyone is able to just move rooms like that. I'm sure he has his other rooms for a reason. Its not like you cant understand him talking anyway.
