This is an excellently modeled aircraft. The amazing sounds just put the icing on the cake for this excellent addon. Now if only Laminar could figure out the ground handling. Every aircraft in X-Plane slides around way too much and the brakes act really weird at slow speeds.
Synoxys this is not an issue with x-plane but rather with hardware as seems to be the issue. I have real world experience in a C172 and I can tell you that if my planes rudder pedals were as squirlly and loose as my saitek pedals, while being just as effective than you would suffer the same consequences in real life. So I’m kinda stuck between what to do
All three models, the original III and both Turbos, are full of atmosphere and character and very immersive with no adverse hit on frames or performance. The ceiling textures and the pop-up panel could both be better but that's about it. A great package and a fun plane to fly.
oh boy a T-Tail G.A is one of my favourites..i just like the look of it. yes i agree the textures and detailing is just outstanding...truly amazing...the one thing that makes me smile about this piper aircraft is the flap actuator (looks like a parking brake)..hahaha
Thank you as a 70 yr old this a great video for me as it’s easy to follow I purchased this as download Voucher at Flight Sim 2018 RAF Cosforth A very good show with everyone so friendly and helpful Once again than you
I just bought the Turbo and non-turbo version of this plane for XP11, along with both of the REP packages to go with. Haven't got to try them out yet, still need to install them...
Thanks for this review! Is it possible to disable the windshield dirt without disabling reflections? I think the novelty of a dirty windshield will get old pretty fast for me.
Liked the landing. With my Turbo Arrow from Aerosoft I can't fly the final that straigt. The closer I get to the runway, the more the nose turns to the left and the plane starts to move from the left to the right like a leave in the wind. Compared to the Cessna 172 it is almost impossible to land. What's wrong with it? I turned the weather to CAVOK. Any idea?
Thanks a lot Q8. Unless you already did, i would be interested for a how to perform a go around with an airliner. I know the basics but with your way of presentation I think it will be quite informative. Thanks again for your contribution to our hobby.
First ever comment on a ytube flight sim, and am a new xplane convert from fsx and p3d . Just re bought this on the strength of your review ( again ) and not dissapointed....Thx. :)
Are you suppose to leave the fuel pump on after ignition or are u suppose to turn it off? On other GA aircrafts suchs as airfoil Labs c172 and Aerobask pipistrel Panthera, you can turn fuel pump off after ignition and fly.
Great review! I own this aircraft and am enjoying it thoroughly. I saw on landing that you had a hard touchdown. Not sure if this is an issue with X-planes modeling or not as I experience the same kind of landings sometimes. After flying this aircraft for a while I found out that coming in with extra energy is a great way to get successful landings. Another great method is to use a lower flap setting than full flaps as full flaps creates usually more drag than it does lift. Also on a large runway like that one landing with power isn’t a problem. Changing these things really helps me get good landings with this aircraft. Definitely recommend trying it out!
Agreed. In flying a real arrow, those things drop like a rock when you cut the power. Best to leave a little power all the way in until just before touchdown.
Hi,are you using after-effects when editing these videoes? Your XP11 have a high contrast to shadow-factor, makes it look more realistic. Or is it perhaps Maxx-Fx (?)How do you edit Your videos, if I may ask? Is it Final Cut? Would also be interesting to know how you compress Your videoes..best regardsbmj73
i need help. I just bought one of this, and as soon as I take off my plane becomes uncontrollable. it is always trying to go left. someone can help me?
Great review captain. The plane is really beautiful and very interesting. I do not know if it's in your plans, but it would be interesting to see a tutorial from the SSG E-Jets 195 Evolution.
Hey there buddy, yes I purchased the suite from SSG, and currently being tested so that I can give you folks a fair review of it. Perhaps in a couple of weeks time.
Many thanks for taking the time to review this plane. On a side note, have you tried this in VR as the VR Beta has been released? Would be interested in your views:) Regards.
Yeah, I ended up buying these planes because they offered the reduced cost deal for those who bought the Arrow III. They aren't quite as refined as the Arrow III, but these two aircraft are very nice still, and slightly different. Have you flown the IV as well? I'm curious what you think about the differences between the two. All three of these aircraft are very tough to land well. They are so different than say the Airfoillabs 172. But once you get some good landings, it's definitely a great feeling. I do look forward to what JustFlight will do to improve these two aircrafts the III and the IV.
Osamah mate do you use a liquad CPU cooler? My new GPU doesn't seem to make a big difference and I constantly get blue screen crashes... I think it's down to my CPU throttling and overheating. its 4.4gnhz do surely I should be able to achieve your frames. Cheers son ;-)
Rich is full mixture, lean is the least amount of mixture before the engine dies/ or reducing mixture for the best ratio of compressed air intake: fuel consumption (in flight) which depends on pressure. By doing this you will receive greater RPMs. On the ground, you generally lean the mixture also just to reduce fuel consumption since you're not moving anywhere but keep the engine running for its AC power it provides. (I'm not 100% sure on any of this; just guess' from my experience). Osamah would provide a better answer since he has a ppl.
Mixture refers to how the carburetor combines fuel and air before passing it to the cylinder heads for combustion. At low altitude, there is a lot of air and the mixture is generally set full rich (the exception to this is during low power settings like taxi power to avoid fouling the spark plugs). As altitude is increased, there is less air, so the mixture is "leaned" by reducing the amount of fuel sent to the carb. Ultimately, when the mixture is properly leaned for a given altitude, the fuel/air ratio will be about the same, though the amount of fuel sent to the cylinders will decrease as the mixture is leaned. Care must be taken to not lean the mixture too much as the cylinder head temperature will rise as more air is supplied to the combustion process.
I have flown the real plane for hundreds of hours and never heard the terrible tire noise. I also think the speed was a bit slow on approach compared to what you train in the real plane. The touch down is never that hard in the real plane but it could have to do with the speed. He came in a bit slow.
The tire noise is default x-plane sound. You can replace it with silent sound. As for the touch down, the approach speed is about 75KTS. at 10 ft, flare and reduce power to idle. The hard touch down is probably due to a bug in the plane, but I could be mistaken. Thanks for watching!
Q8Pilot After my first couple of landing in the Just Flight Arrow, I have resorted to leaving the power at the approach power setting and just flaring. It bleeds airspeed quickly in the flare a makes for a much softer landing.
I know this is the piper arrow 4 and it’s new .. I have the piper arrow 3 from VFlyteAir. And its very cool. Is it worth spending $60 for all 3 plane from justflight Two arrow III and the new arrow IV ,,, does anyone one know if there is much difference in the arrow III from the 2 company’s
If you already own the Arrow 3 from Just Flight you should have received a discount. Honestly, not much different between the Turbo and non- Turbo versions. Stick with one.
Nice video you have do some mistakes. First the Takeoff speed is 70knots and not 60 and second the ALT button with turn on after when eng is start and not before. Nice airplane but i dont like at all the touch town when we landing. it's look to hard the touch and not like all the other x-plane airplanes. I hop the will fix this on next updates.
"And touch down!" I'd say so...! Glad your landing gear didn't come up through the wings like a real aircraft (LOL). Nice video but just a couple technical points: the yoke nor the instrument console have "rust" on them - the yoke typically gets paint chip wear and so can the console (but rarely) when repeated finger nails rub on it when adjusting the ALT or OBS. Comment about "bolts" on the wing might be more accurate if you describe "rivets" and/or screws (wing tips) instead...there are no external bolts visible on the PA-28R201 wings. Happy sim'ing
Great review but jesus you came in waaaaaaay too high and fast. Try landing the plane in the first half of the runway mate, and remember: You can always go around again.
I know your comment is a year old but even so, it doesn't matter so much about his landing because this was basically just a review of the aircraft. It's always easy to criticise from your armchair. Maybe you could do a video and show us how its done!!
this guy needs to go back to landing 101, and don't park at the FBO, go straight to the shop to see how much damage he did, total frigging idiot !!! it's a wonder the gear didn't colapse on the runway.
From www.pilotfriend.com/aircraft%20performance/Piper/17.htm : Like many T-tail airplanes, the Arrow IV flies differently than Arrows with conventional tail feathers. The T-tail, depending on airspeed, is either very effective or far less effective than a conventional tail (which isn’t as prone to abrupt transitions between different flying regimes). This is due to the fact that the stabilator sits up out of the propwash, and so is less effective at low airspeeds.
I think the dramatic CRASH sound made it seem worse than it is. Combined with those horrible cartoon tire squeals... ugh. When will devs stop using that? As a PPL I have never heard a tire screech in a plane I was flying. So, not the best landing but horrible sounds for this plane. At least in landing.
This is an excellently modeled aircraft. The amazing sounds just put the icing on the cake for this excellent addon. Now if only Laminar could figure out the ground handling. Every aircraft in X-Plane slides around way too much and the brakes act really weird at slow speeds.

JF have done well with the arrow across all platforms. My favorite is the xplane 11 versio. Great detailed review again. :)
Thanks a million Shane! Yes the XP11 version is my favorite as well.
Thank you as a 70 yr old this a great video for me as it’s easy to follow
I purchased this as download Voucher at Flight Sim 2018 RAF Cosforth
A very good show with everyone so friendly and helpful
Once again than you
The best of any GA aircraft I have flown in a simulator compared to real world. AWSOME product
Thanks for your insight of this wonderful aircraft and as always your meticulous tutorials.
Thanks for watching!
Awesome video and aircraft! Great review buddy :-D
Thanks a million Thomas, you are the best!
Question: You have given an 8.5 out of 10 to this JF model... what would you consider a rating of 10 by your standings?
Another great video from you, amazing aircraft
The textures in VR are AMAZING!
I just bought the Turbo and non-turbo version of this plane for XP11, along with both of the REP packages to go with. Haven't got to try them out yet, still need to install them...
thanks for another great review. I really enjoy your channel content!
Glad you enjoy the channel my friend, and for watching the video!
Just bought it, sounds great and many great details
Thanks for this review!
Is it possible to disable the windshield dirt without disabling reflections? I think the novelty of a dirty windshield will get old pretty fast for me.
Brilliant review as always. Thank you!!
Thank you for watching my friend!
Q8Pilot always
Thank you Thomas. But it seemed to me that the piper from vFly ET Air Piper Arrow III v.5 was a bit more atmospheric.
Liked the landing. With my Turbo Arrow from Aerosoft I can't fly the final that straigt. Most welcome Nick and thank you for watching! I will make a note of your suggestion for a future video.
First ever comment on a ytube flight sim, and am a new xplane convert from fsx and p3d . Just re bought this on the strength of your review ( again ) and not dissapointed....Thx. :)
Blue skies and happy flying captain =)
Great video Q8pilot, I think that this may be my next airplane!
Thanks Manley =)
Superb aircraft, I love it. Thank's :o)
Thanks for watching!

On this Piper, the fuel pump remain on until above 1000AGL.
Have you done a full review of the Socata Trinidad from Just Flight for XP11? cheers!.
I have this aircraft but how do you switch to the T tail version? I only have the original non T tail version.
Great review!!
Awesome Video as always!
Thanks a million my friend!

Thanks for the info, I will certainly run x-plane now and give it a shot =) Thanks for watching as well!
Agreed. In flying a real arrow, those things drop like a rock when you cut the power. Best to leave a little power all the way in until just before touchdown.
That constant beeping is not the stall warning. Its the "Low power, gear not down" warning. The horn that sounds later is the stall warning.
nice vdo !! but a great slumdunk as well my friend :)
I guess you forgot to flare properly
have a great 2018 !! hoping to see more !
Thanks for watching! The slumdunk could have been avoided with a lower flap settings, flare was fine.
@Q8Pilot
what weather program are you use ? :)
Actually the white light at take off is overboost when you go over 41 MP - it's not advised on real airplane. Nice model!

it is not a bug all single engine propelled aircraft have a tendency to turn
I have just purchased this plane. How do you refill/ check oil?
Thanks!
Great review captain.

great review thank you now in my hanger
Glad you enjoyed it =)

May I wish you and all if your followers a very happy New year.
Best wishes brother.
See you in the new sky's of 2018.
Cheers.
3:50, fuel tank switch is not every 10 min, more like every 30 min. Very good video, thank you!

Use the msi afterburn for monitoring your cpu and gpu.
A water cooler is very efficient against overheating.
Yeah mate CPU reaches 85-90
I Have a i7 7700 3.6 GHz
With a water cooler my CPU reaches 35 - 45
full load?
Jonfrederick Lilley max 45 in game
Why are you using XP12 Beta 1 not XP11 ? Your sim looks amazing!
Looks terrific. Are there icing effects on the aircraft?
Someone explain to me why you need a rich mixture lean etc what d OK they mean
Rich is full mixture, lean is the least amount of mixture before the engine dies/ or reducing mixture for the best ratio of compressed air intake: fuel consumption (in flight) which depends on pressure. By doing this you will receive greater RPMs.
On the ground, you generally lean the mixture also just to reduce fuel consumption since you're not moving anywhere but keep the engine running for its AC power it provides. (I'm not 100% sure on any of this; just guess' from my experience). Osamah would provide a better answer since he has a ppl.

Mike Frank thank you
Nice aircraft. Both toff and ldg roll lateral control and braking is fairly unrealistic and hard to mantain in centerline. Needs to be improven
hello, does it work for MAC game installed by STEAM?
I am not familiar with Mac sorry!
This looks a lot better than XP12!
=)
Happy New Year..see you in 2018
Do you still use reshade? Your sim looks amazing!
Colton Spires No not using reshade anymore.
Well whatever addons your using is making X-Plane look nice.
Damn this game looks good
Looks Interesting would you recommend this to a Pilot with average Flight Experience?
Thanks in Advance and Greetings from Germany

ur not supposed to use fuel pumps when flying the plane, I've flown it before
Where are you from
I am a Kuwaiti national =)
Q8Pilot wow
is like the other normal arrow but with turbo...
Great review but jesus you came in waaaaaaay too high and fast. Try landing the plane in the first half of the runway mate, and remember: You can always go around again.

Need to switch tanks is so stupid for a plane!
what the hell is going on here this is not a turbo aircraft
What a terrible landing ;)
Not a great landing, but personally would not rate it as terrible. A lower flap setting would have saved the day.
this guy needs to go back to landing 101, and don't park at the FBO, go straight to the shop to see how much damage he did, total frigging idiot !!! it's a wonder the gear didn't colapse on the runway.
