I'm a huge fan of the Rolling Stones and The Beatles. I think they shared a healthy rivalry during the sixties. Lennon and McCartney sang backing vocals on their brilliant dig at the establishment after being busted. We Love You. Keith was at the orchestral recording piece of A Day in the Life. Mick was at the All You Need Is Love Global showing. Lennon played Yer Blues on the brilliant Rock'n'roll Circus. Keith playing Bass, with Hendrix drummer Mitch Mitchell and Eric Clapton on lead. I love the Stones' albums Aftermath, Between the Buttons, Their Satanic Majesties Request, Beggars Banquet, Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main Street and Goats Head Soup. Amazing work. The Beatles, Rubber Soul, Revolver, Sgt Pepper, White Album and Abbey Road. Between these two bands and those albums are some of pop/rock musics greatest songs. I also love Dylan, The Who, The Kinks and many more 1960s bands. I think the '60s and early '70s are the greatest time for music, in my opinion.

Penned by the Jagger and Richards tandem, “Play With Fire” (1965) started out as an up-tempo song titled “A Mess With Fire”. It’s a “don’t mess with me” piece, with Mick Jagger addressing a well-off woman to tell her that he’s undaunted by her wealth.
In 1995, Mick Jagger stated : “ It’s a very in-your-face kind of sound and very clearly done […]. I mean, it just came out. It was just kind of rich girl’s families - society as you saw it. It’s painted in this naive way […]. I don’t know if it was daring. It just hadn’t been done [before].”
“Play With Fire” was featured in the 2007 movie “The Darjeeling Limited”. A RARE INSTANCE of an entire single being used in a film.
    ONE BOLD CLASSIC❕ 💚🔥 💙

I remember this from the Free Concert the Stones gave in Hyde Park in July 1969. That was a love-fest like no other I've ever been to. We were all Stoned. Anyone else out there who remembers it? Happy Daze. I was 21 at the time. Life was simple back then. Flower Power and the Summer of Love, with no worries about the future, as we didn't expect there to be a future, due to the Cold War and the constant threat of Nuclear Annihilation. Thankfully, it never happened, but now our Grandchildren are also faced with an uncertain future. Life can be so cruel. Peace and Love to all.

Actually it isn't a blues. Tunes have certain chordal structures and progressions that define what they are classified as. It's a great tune, but this is structurally a ballad. (B/t/w... I learned to play this tune in 1968.) The Stones' "Gimmee Shelter" is structurally a blues, as are "Lady Jane" and "Sister Morphine."

@@TheMightySandow There are absolutely minor chords in blues music. Tons of blues songs are in a minor key, even. “The Thrill is gone”, “Ain’t No Sunshine”, “House of the Rising Sun”… Even by The Rolling Stones, you’ve got songs like “Miss You”, “Hoo Doo Blues”, “Sister Morphine”… those are all blues songs with minor chords.

Their early albums were full of really cool songs that they didn't play on the radio much. You had to buy their next album, play it through and then play it every day for six months or until your parents yelled at you to turn it down. I was 15 when it came out and how wonderful to hear it here.

Well, you've got your diamonds and you've got your pretty clothes
And the chauffeur drives your car
    You let everybody know
But don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
Your mother she's an heiress, owns a block in Saint John's Wood
And your father'd be there with her
    If he only could
But don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
Your old man took her diamonds and tiaras by the score
Now she gets her kicks in Stepney
    Not in Knightsbridge anymore
So don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
Now you've got some diamonds and you will have some others
But you'd better watch your step, girl
Or start living with your mother
So don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
So don't play with me, 'cause you're playing with fire
