Watch and observe, children. They PLAY their instruments and sing with competence. They know their instruments and have spent a lot of time practicing and learning their skill. No Autotune. No computerization doing it for them. This is something called talent. Talent was a skill from decades ago before Autotune, before computerization, before the record industry picked young people to become stars based on visual appeal and how far a person would go with publicity stunts to create shock value. These talented musicians of the past had creativity, commitment, flair, skill, and put in a lot of time writing and polishing their songs. Many of them read what is called sheet music. Sheet music is a kind of language for music using what is called notes. Sheet music and notes kind of equate to learning how to write language and use what is called grammar. Grammar are the rules and guidelines of language. Music has a grammar to it, as well. In both writing language and music, creativity may be used to create magnificent songs, such as the one on this video. However, you will have to learn what is called discipline. Discipline requires something called work. Discipline and work will give you the means to learn how to actually sing and play instruments on your own without computerized assistance. Once you become good with singing and playing instruments, something called your self-esteem will improve. You will develop a sense of what is called accomplishment, like these young lads in the video.

My all time favorite band. I'm nearly 60 and I've been listening to their music since I was about 8 years old. My brother gave me an 8 track tape of their music and I was hooked. Best 3 piece band ever.
I copied Mels bass lines and my other 2 brothers copied Marks guitar and Dons drumming. We were a big hit locally and pulled in quite the crowds. Always got requests for this song. Played the first live album front to back. That was the best times of my young life back then.
Grand Funk Railroad: Did you kids know they sold out Shea Stadium in a few hours when it took the Beatles 3 or 4 days? Rock and Blues, American Style! Oh, the airplane seen at the end of American Graffiti was Grand Funk Railroad's private plane. HISTORY!!!
Actually it took the Beatles seven WEEKS to sell it out. I found that out on a GFR documentary I recently watched. Thanks for that history. I love finding out trivia like that.
I saw them live on that tour at an amusement park in Dania, Florida called Pirates World. They played three or four nights and their were riots outside one of the nights from fan who couldn't get tickets.
SOY VALENTIN LARA DE TOLUCA MÉXICO, CUANDO ME PRESTARON ESTE DISCO TENÍA 13 AÑOS, QUEDE IMPRESIONADO CON LA BRUTALIDAD DE ESTE TRIO, LARGA VIDA AL GRAND FUNK
the amazing thing about grand funk railroad is that they could take a "cover song" that is not originally their own and DRAMATICALLY improvise that cover song and make it SOUND SO DIFFERENT from the original version that you would think that they (GFR) wrote the song THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!...........put these lads in the rock n' roll hall of fame RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,what a travesty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look don't give the RRHOF any more credit for anything. They've included RECENT hip hop and rap performers. And I THOUGHT the thing was rock and roll... hmm. They are included because god forbid Jann Wenner and the voting committee be thought EXCLUSIVE. It's all very political. That's why Blue Oyster Cult (MY band), The Smithereens, The Grass Roots, The Turtles, hmmmm GFR won't get in any time soon. Look it took The Moody Blues DECADES to get in and Levi Stubbs of The Four Tops didn't live long after their induction. LOVED the 4 Tops. When I went there I asked the criteria: 1) 25 yrs in the biz; 2) must be nominated by the VOTING committee-not the buying public (??!??!???!), 3) and voted in by - you guessed it; that same committee. It's a crock. IF it were legit, it would be done chronoLOGICALLY; not picking from the most current era and inducted. I'm surprised they recognized Robert Johnson, early.

One of the greatest rock and roll bands ever
A dog on bass player I'll tell you sure influence me over the years and I'm 68 years old come on
Killer Track from my High-School years.
I'm 61 Navajo Indian,I remember buying my double album "caught in the Act" in eighth grade..love " closer to home".. AWESOME BAND
Being a Child of the 60's brought me here. Whenever I've had it with todays so-called crappy Music ( And that's a lot ) I come here to listen to real Music done by Talented Musicians and it ears love it too.
Grand Funk , eterno.
Ain't nothing like grand funk railroad!!
Grand Funk, one of the best rock and roll bands to ever exist. Just plain clean rock and roll.
9 minutes of awesome jamming. Big sound and spot on. Rock and roll attack!
Happy Birthday Hayden Panettiere
I'll Always Love you Hayden Panettiere
Sincerely,
Neal Patrick Fry from '69 in
Pure Michigan and Grand Funk.
Mark with that Messenger! I saw them 2 years later - my first rock concert. Mel will forever be my favorite bass play and Don is equally amazing. What a band!
66 años y aún me emociona oír a este grupo y más ver sus videos qué en mi juventud se prohibieron
Talented energetic and passionate musicians. But don’t forget the songwriting. It’s a totally supreme package.
Power trio bands need to come back in. Feel the energy 🌋
glad the internet exists so that all the younger folks get to hear this stuff too
Ho yeahhhhh ... in France too ... you are a perfect mind about that ..... the perfect trio with ZZ Top for all time .... god bless you .... Eric from France ( Normandy )
Hell ya
Fk the young ones.

I'm not sure they understand it.
WOW, What strong memories! Man, I love those guys still. And Mark is still pumping out the music today. Great Band!
I can't tell you how many times I heard this in my Teenage years. This was when they were AWESOME.
Was my favorite song, listen to it non-stop in the 70s.
70 yrs young love rock of the seventies
When music WAS music.
On point
That's Right!!
REAL MUSIC
❤❤❤❤❤
Grand Funk was a KILLER KILLER band! OMG people this was freakin LIVE!
GFR is so severely underrated and I never could understand why. Nobody today could lay a finger on these Michigan boys!
usernametaken 56 dosent get any better than this!
Grew up on this music with 4 brothers in the house playing our own stuff and the 8 tracks and records going all the time. 60 miles north of Flint, GFR nation!
This is real music....energy, mesmerizing, delirious!!
Your comment is amazingly concise. Three words that capture the essence of Grand Funk. THANK YOU!
Thank you Mark Curtis!!
This is so raw.
Loved Grand Funk in the late 60's and 70's! They had so many great hits!
This has got to be the BEST performance of this song. ... one of my favorite!
one of the greatest 'riffs' of all time..
Since 1969 when I was a teens of 16 years...i like GFR...up to now July 2022 Iam 69 years old.
One of the best rockin bands of the 1970s. God bless the 1970s....!!
They still play -September, 2018 in Topeka. Most of them anyway.
Angel Martinez , I agree. One of the best ever. THE “American Band”
Angel your right grand funk and Uriah heep and golden earring three of the greatest bands are getting screwed by the rocking roll Hall of fame it's not right.
@@richardwarke6036 Bad company and Boston too.
The rock and roll hall of fame blows.
Just plain old rock n roll done right...these guys were so under appreciated by just about everybody...but the true fans....long live GFR>>>
My all time favorite band. I'm nearly 60 and I've been listening to their music since I was about 8 years old. My brother gave me an 8 track tape of their music and I was hooked. Best 3 piece band ever.
😅
Certainly one of them.
Now THIS is the true definition of what a power trio in music is.
Thank you! Incredible! The way drums and bass backup Mark Farner on his killer Harmonica is outrageous! 👏
Gawd I thought he was so sexy ❤❤❤
GREATEST song ever recorded love the bass
I copied Mels bass lines and my other 2 brothers copied Marks guitar and Dons drumming. We were a big hit locally and pulled in quite the crowds. Always got requests for this song. Played the first live album front to back. That was the best times of my young life back then.
Grand Funk Railroad: Did you kids know they sold out Shea Stadium in a few hours when it took the Beatles 3 or 4 days? Rock and Blues, American Style! Oh, the airplane seen at the end of American Graffiti was Grand Funk Railroad's private plane. HISTORY!!!
Yamaha SR650 love that
Great movie. Great times. Gotta see that movie again to catch the plane cameo. Thanks!
T j ash thank you very much this is the reason peter grant was pissed off
Actually it took the Beatles seven WEEKS to sell it out.
Впервые услышал GFR в 1974-м!.. За 50 лет моя любовь к ним только окрепла!.. ❤😊
This band always knew how to let the music breath so we really feel it! Loved them since the mid 70s.
the best power trio. good bless America for this!
One of the best bands ever! They made me love this music.. even if I was only 10 years old.. Led Zepellin, Deep Purple, etc.
Double for me too!!!!!!
dammnnnn..that raw voice. wow
Such happy memories with this totally underrated talented rock band. Just 3 guys doing it all!!!
SOY VALENTIN LARA DE TOLUCA MÉXICO, CUANDO ME PRESTARON ESTE DISCO TENÍA 13 AÑOS, QUEDE IMPRESIONADO CON LA BRUTALIDAD DE ESTE TRIO, LARGA VIDA AL GRAND FUNK

I'm now 68 yrs old,,, still love there 😃 music 🎵🎶🎵 I am nosey how old are they ( anybody know???????‼️🎶🎵😃😃😂😁
El grupo más ninguneado del mundo.
Siendo que eran lo maximo
El más ruidoso de la época.
Excellent musicians! I have always loved their music! 💗💗
Saw them at Fillmore West San Francisco 1969 or Santana they rocked out one in the morning awesome never forget
How did I live 52 years on this planet and never hear this? Incredible performance!!!
They are only 19 and 21 , and a masking taped 200$ guitar and a toy Jazzmaster drum set.
Well I just heard Tool sober 3 months ago for the time been hearing to funk since 71
the amazing thing about grand funk railroad is that they could take a "cover song" that is not originally their own and DRAMATICALLY improvise that cover song and make it SOUND SO DIFFERENT from the original version that you would think that they (GFR) wrote the song THEMSELVES!!!!!!!!...........put these lads in the rock n' roll hall of fame RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!,,,,,,,what a travesty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi; how are you ?
Excelente grupo los de esa época
Son los padres de.la música
Música que jamás morirá
La música de los.60 70 80y90
Son las mejores
Después la decadencia
When I was 13 in 1970 Grand Funk Live was the first album I ever bought, after hearing a few cuts on late night FM radio. I played the album endlessly. The version of Inside Looking Out on this album is even better than the one in this video, as if that's even possible.
Wow these guys can rock, this is real rock n roll.
Extremely underrated band...loads of talent, just never had a tremendous amount of critical attention.
Screw critical attention. We the fans matter. We define them. Nothing comes close to GFR, no one can decide that for me or in general because it's DENYING THE OBVIOUS
My first album I purchased was GRAND FUNK RAILROAD "Live" 1971. What a power house start to my collection.
They should of been in the rock and roll hall of fame many years ago!💥
You can say that again!
The Rock Hall of fame is Bogus
@@richardkelly7554 exactly. the same chumps who run Rolling Stone mag also control RnR hall of fame. Says it all right there
Not safe for prime time.
Alongside Tupac & Madonna?
Nah. Screw that place.
This jam summed up what we young hippies were listening to in 1969-1970.I couldn't believe they caught lightning in a bottle.this song was a Vietnam. era classic.God bless GFR and the people who served.
