in all honesty, americans don't understand the majority of traditional spiritual systems in most african nations, not just Congo. We don't have a clue about traditional spirituality in Botswana, Kenya, Ghana, Liberia, Zambia, etc.
The problem is that even when you have, you heavy ( very heavy ) filter it thru your own categories that water them down or totally misunderstand them -if they are black, all must be beautiful exciting and wholesome -the evil colonizer forced people to abandon those beautiful all easy and peasy beliefs -if it's evil, or disturbing, or primitive , I don't want to know because white suprematists could have a point -I don't want truth I want Wakanda -I want to think that Africa has one only united ancestral wisdom that for some reason of (white) conspiracy is hidden -I want to embrace ancient cool gods to mock Christians I could go on. I am not assuming this is your case or of the channel, but I wouldn't blame you because I saw with my own eyes, as a Nigerian/Senegalese in the US how wrong and a la carte you cherry pick from foreign cultures what suits your issues and can't wrasp your mind around reality that somehow doesn't revolve around you. You are trained so. And politics and media put a lot of confusion.Even at school when you "learn" what someone thinks is "relevant" (convenient) for you and not what is true. You have with African ancient / traditional spirituality the same problem you have with ancient gods you "Wicca"- wash. And there is no problem until you realize like more modern wiccans do, that this is a re-elaboration and remix , very modern. It's a problem when you babble about glorious gods and "ancestors" and you think is real - and without knowing a thing about actual social and historic reality in Africa. Then you wouldn't be surprised that for many of us embracing "invaders religions" (both from Islamic and Western conquerors) wasn't always that big tragedy , au contraire. Overall, it's not for initiated to "understand". It's just for educated and patient people uninterested in narratives.

When you say “We” there is an implication that you are speaking for all melaninated people here in America. It would only be wise to do so if you had direct knowledge of each person’s genetic lineage. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Also, my understanding of the most recent seeding of this planet is that the original man/woman’s genetic footprint traces back to the Kongo region of what we call Africa today. If that’s true then even indigenous Americans would be able to trace the roots of their forefathers back to Africa. So even if one identifies with the most recent tribal ancestors here in America that does not negate the fact or eliminate the possibility of African ancestry. Wasn’t this all one land mass prior the continental drift? The sad part about it is so much of our history has been erased and there are so many researchers being idolized and referred to as master teachers when they really are not that. We shouldn’t attempt to impose our beliefs onto others. This sister seems intelligent and wise to me how do you know that she hasn’t verified her ancestry through divination and made the link that way?
