“She wants to leave cause your Daughters mean and your house smells weird!” 😭😭
😂😂😂😂
So true
Thats the one I would use every time 😂
About every autistic kid ever😅. It’s usually some jealous girl who is friends with the host that is mean to you specifically for being “weird”, shy, or different. And yes, different smells
@@JDMimeTHEFIRSTMore like every spoilt kid. Don't lump neuro-divergence in with awful self entitled brats. Not cool.
"She has to fly like paper, get high like planes" 😂
Gonna use that to call out of work.
'yeah, so if you catch her at the border she got visas in her name'.
🔫💥🔫 & take ur 💵💰💸
no i lost it
"Cicadas!" absolutely got me
Totally! Did a spit take lol
Best part
Agreed!
😂
Same energy as “pocket sand!”
Maya's dead-eyed stare when releasing the cicadas 🤣
i wonder if that part is referrenced from something like movie
@@ValKoralieI figured it was referencing them being in the news
Cicadas 😂😂😂 💀 ☠
Thats what it was! The dead eyed stare. It was awesome lol
.... while in her bathrobe!
Me as a kid, but my mom stopped coming to get me 💀 she was like "we not doing this every time" lmaoo
😂😂
You had a good Mom.
Same hahah my mom was very, “You need to grow up!”
yeaaaa.. naah, my parents never did this lol. I'm sure if I got molested or something they'd come though. For a "I don't feel like it" moment, they didn't give a flying f*** 😂
That was right of her
The “what do you want me to say” part is too real 😂 my mom used to say “if you ever want to get out of something you can always blame it on me.”
I say the same thing to my kids.
I say that to all my kids as well
My mom would always same too!!
I tell my kids the same thing … blame me.
When I was about 8 and slept over at a friends' house, it was great and fun and cool until after bedtime and the house was big and scary and dark and made funny noises and I called my Mom and she came to get me. It was just that one time, but from all of us scared kids, thanks Mom for always being there with the car and complete loving understanding.
What if youd stayed there and learned on your own that there was actually nothing to fear? Youd have felt braver and a little less scared of the world around you.
@@GGoAwayy Well, that was about 55 years ago, so it seems to have worked out. If my grandkids today get a little scared, I let them know we're there for them. But I will say, I am proud when they are scared (of Doctors and such), I tell them it's okay to be afraid, but if they are afraid and do it anyway (they always do), then they are my Hero. A person who has fear and carries on has my respect, but I also understand the difference between being a youngster and an adolescent or adult.
@@GGoAwayyNot everything has to be a lesson in bravery and toughness. instead of teaching kids that people won’t go out of their way to show them kindness and support, try being the person who will.
Skinamarink says hello lol
@@heathercreates So they should go out into the world, and try to survive on their own, naively expecting kindness and support from strangers? Good luck, kid. Youre going to need it. Sorry no one prepared you for reality.
"Hello we are the police. We are here to arrest the girl and take her to girl jail " lmao 😂
It would possibly work without the stach
LMAO!!!
That one got me too 🤣🤣🤣
I’d straight up think that my friend’s parents were cool af if they did that lol.
The nonchalant "Cicadas!" had me in tears 😭
I’ve already repeated this out loud seven or eight times today with no context 😅
Made me remember when my mom had to pick me up because of homesickness -she always did and never made me feel bad about it.. Thank you Mom and I love you❤
Have you since gotten over your homesickness?
One of the last times I got homesickness, I was with the neighbor's family and they took me and their kids to Taco Bell. I don't know why but after the food came, I wanted out 😂 nothing I could do, I ate part of the nachos and just whimpered until we got home. I think it's just cause they weren't the warmest people.
Maya is such a brilliant comedian. She is understated, she is over-the-top, she is goofy, she is sincere, she is willing to play “the straight man“ and willing to deliver the punch line. She is humbly perfect.
The other girl’s a damn good friend for continuing to invite her
Lol I mean sometimes you still want an invitation even if you decline. That's true friendship 😂
Gotta keep up the DEI quota
Same thing I thought! 😂😂😂
@@ZIRNHELT86 get therapy.
Your friend’s house- A NIGHT PLACE TO VISIT BUT I WOULDNT WANT TO SLEEP THERE!”
All the doorbells triggered my dog so bad lol 😂
Bro
Lol mine slept through it
Our corgi lost his XXXX...
This was actually really sweet!
"Hello. We are police." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
When you want friends but other people's space gives you anxiety 😂
Kudos to whoever was playing the daughter. Good actress!
At what point do you you tell your daughter "hey, you're not going to any more sleepovers, because you're clearly not enjoying 'em"?
you don't
At what point do your friends get sick of you always bailing out and just stop inviting you to their sleepovers? These are some VERY understanding friends to keep inviting her back.
@@GGoAwayy True
@@GGoAwayy Or just very gullible friends that believe all their excuses.
@@DarthEnderX or dont care
Maya quoting MIA was awesome!! ✈️🎶😂😂
This has to be the cutest and funniest skit I have seen! It’s way too relatable!!
That dad excuses are so accurate😂
Dad doesn't care he's just gonna tell it like it is.
I love How the Tree is in different Seasons
The best Mothers Day skit ever!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
"LIKE M. I. A SONG?, YEAH SO IF YOU CATCH HER IN THE BORDER SHE GOT VISAS ON HER NAME ""
I'm 31 and my mom still reminds me that I can always use her as an excuse to bail out of social engagements. She will always proverbially pick me up from sleepovers lol
Maybe it is time to just be open about your desire to be back at home. I do feel like people are starting to become more understanding of that issue.
I went from EXTROVERT child to "okay yeah I don't like spending too much time with people" adult, and my friends definitely understand ❤❤❤. Any friend worth having will.
The wearing pads excuse was so funny!
“Girl jail” 😂😂😂 I wonder why the girl just didn’t say no
I need her to teach my English 😂😂😂
That got me - because I wasn’t expecting anything like that for an exciting
Maya has always been my favorite and she is still so freaking funny
Am I the only one who noticed at 0:03 clips from the sketch dragon babies is on the tv?
No you are not the only one
“She wants to leave because your daughter’s mean and your house smells weird.” It’s so accurate because why is it we hate the smell of other people’s houses sometimes.
I had initially planned to retire at 62, work part-time, and save money, but the impact of high prices on various goods and services has significantly disrupted my retirement plan. I'm worried about whether those who experienced the 2008 financial crisis had it easier than I currently am. The volatility of the stock market is a concern as my income has decreased, and I fear that I won't be able to contribute as much as before, potentially jeopardizing my retirement savings.
The increasing prices have impacted my plan to retire at 62, work part-time, and save for the future. I'm concerned about whether those who navigated the 2008 financial crisis had an easier time than I am currently experiencing. The combination of stock market volatility and a decrease in income is causing anxiety about whether I'll have sufficient funds for retirement.
This is precisely why I like having a portfolio coach guide my day-to-day market decisions: with their extensive knowledge of going long and short at the same time, using risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying it off as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, their skillset makes it nearly impossible for them to underperform. I've been utilizing a portfolio coach for more than two years, and I've made over $800,000.
Mind if I ask you to recommend this particular coach to you using their service?
Leticia Zavala Perkins, a highly respected figure in her field. I suggest delving deeper into her credentials, as she possesses extensive experience and serves as a valuable resource for individuals seeking guidance in navigating the financial market.
Thank you for the lead. I searched her up, and I have sent her an email. I hope she gets back to me soon.
Killer skit. The police-cicadas wombo-combo as a follow up to the straight-talking dad did it for me. Big ups!
“Cicadas”
This is easily the best line in this entire sketch
As someone who always called my mom to pick me up because I didn't like sleepovers, this is on point.
I told my kids years ago if they didn’t want to go someplace or be someplace, blame me. “My mom is going to be angry” etc. They did and I couldn’t have cared less what kids thought about me, so long as my kids were safe and happy and had a serious out for peer pressure lol
This is by far one of the best skits SNL has ever done purely because of how wholesome it is.
This skit resonates with me. My Mom always told me I could use her as an excuse to get out of bad situations, and I definitely took advantage of that on multiple occasions. Happy Mothers Day to all the mothers out there! Great skit SNL!
She's a beach 😂😂😂😅
I lost it at "Cicadas!" I am literally crying! 🤣
This is so funny because I know people who do this and did this, but I never did this. I loved being at somebody else’s house. Usually, it was my cousins’ or my grandmothers.’
Cicadas!!! Hahaha! That got me!
The way I lost it at cicadas 🤣
Kudos to you parents like this. If I had done this even once I would have been severely punished for the inconvenience and I'd never have been allowed to go to another sleepover. It led me to stick out some really unpleasant and unsafe situations, so don't be like my parents. Be like Maya and Kenan!
That is an award-winning mother and the other family should get most forgiving. 🙂
Has anyone else noticed how many comments about robes there are on tonight's sketches?😄
Every week!😄
If ya know....ya know.
Those cicadas really caught me off guard...I lost it.
🤣
I'm making a meme out of 'Cicadas'! 🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗😂😂
We have a "pretty please" phrase we use when my girl doesn't want to do thing thing get friend is asking, that way I know to make an excuse for why we can't do it n let it be on me as to why it's a "no"
Also
II remind my daughter often that I don't care how I look or seem to others, that, she can use me as her escape for any situation.
I've rescued her from several sleepover situations & this sketch cracked me up with the excuses!
All of Maya's sketches just hit flawlessly. Truly top tier SNL legend
There comes a point where you just stop letting her go to sleep overs cause you need to get some sleep.
Or let her to go to the friends house, but pre-arrange the time that she has to leave/has a house curfew. At least then the parents won't be stressed about when she's inevitably going to call!
It used to be SUPER awkward in the days before cellphones. I’d have to call my home on the landline of the person whose house I was at (and wanted to leave), and kind of hint to my mom that it would sure be great if there could be a major family emergency soon, so I could come home from this sleepover??? 😐
Thankfully she got it most of the time, and I could loudly say “oh no, grandma is in the hospital again?” Or whatever.
The sicadas got me 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
CICADAS...and dry red...BAM!
"Cicada's!!!!!".... almost sent me to the ER!😂😭
she's a dam good friend to keep going to a home that makes her feel unwelcome. doing herself a disservice. 😂
Might be my favorite skit of all time.
"Cicadas!" had me dying!
This one made me tear up! ♥️♥️♥️
Me too! I could never handle sleepovers at other girls houses. It was less bad when it was at my house or it was just me and my very best friend, but anything else was too overwhelming. I recently learned I’m on the autism spectrum and it explains so much of my childhood and why I disliked stuff like this. Thank you mom (and sometimes dad) fo always coming to get me.
"I'm her mother and I'm a bitch."... "Thanks mom." Hilarious! The young actress playing the daughter was just perfect!
😂😂😂😂 for the other family to keep letting her come over is wild
I had a friend like this. I knew it was social anxiety. We’d have breakfast for dinner bcz she never stayed and that’s ok lol. I’m glad she felt comfy to try
The dad excuses❤👏🏾
the dad was too real
"Cicadas" makes this skit a classic for me!
I grew up with a single father who was over protective. After a birthday party, I tried to explain that I was just down the block and after trying to sleepover and failing, I begged him to just let me walk home. He still picked me up and all of my friends watched as we drove 4 houses down and went home. A mom like that might've been nice 🥲
This was literally me as a kid lol. I would go to a sleepover and want to go home immediately 💀
That was so well done.
Funny then sweet.
Happy Mother's Day❤❤
I love how the dad was just completely honest during his first visit.
That's the sweetest ending ever, I wasn't expecting that.
Yeah. My mom just stopped letting me go. We still joke about it 30 years later. 😂
When I enlisted she said "I can't come pick you up" lol
As someone who doesn't have a good relationship with their mother, it made me sad
Yeah, me too. Don't have any relationship with her. Never allowed friends, let alone a sleepover.
Oh hell naw 🙅🏻♀️ after the third 2am call she ain't allowed to spend the night over there no more!! 🤣🤣🤣
Best thing my mom ever told me. “If you don’t feel safe, tell your friends im a bitch, throw me under the bus, whatever you need to say.” ❤❤❤😢
Yeeeeeah after the third time, it's a no-go for the sleepovers over there
This is why my mom said no sleep overs 😂
This is like the old Will Ferrell "Help Me Get Off the Phone" skit.
That’s what friends are for
The ending was surprisingly thoughtful ❤
I thought she was going to say, Because I'm your mother and I said so
Best parents ever high key
Genious mom😂😂😂
Trigger warning on that last one. Damn. Sorry for all you moms that have had to hear that while you’re giving your kid your everything.
I told my mom once, "tell them I'm not allowed to go" 😂😂😂😂
I would always ask my son before a sleep over, if his friends had pets, since he was alergic and he would tell me no pets, then the call would inevitably come that he needed to come home because he was itchy and his throat felt funny. The sketch is perfect and I'm such a fan of Maya's❤
Friends will get that you systematically wanna bounce on the sleepover every single time and then no longer invite you, ever.
Maya’s mom character is a homie lying for her daughter like this 😂👏🏽
This sketch gave my dog a full on meltdown with the constant doorbell ringing 😂
1:59 - CICADAS
im not sobbing.. you are...
At that point she needs to stay home 😂😂😂
When you’re out of excuses and just release Cicadas
I had a friend in high school who did this at every sleepover. It didn’t matter whose house it was.
Excuses that also work- I forgot she has an early appt, I forgot I have an early appt , I forgot she’s grounded, we need to leave town on a family emergency, I JUST QUIT MY JOB and we are moving, FBI are moving us again, I HAD A NIGHTMARE AND I NEED MY KID!!!
What an interesting idea to bring bugs inside someone else's house! The next time my enemy has a party, I should bring a few miscellaneous bugs to let loose, maybe pregnant scorpion, etc.
“If you catch her at the border she got visas in her name” 🤣
My favorite part
if this was me , i would stop letting her sleep over anywhere
the m.i.a reference got me fangirling💀
I remember my friend left my sleepover because she said our house was too quiet and there were no noises outside-she said the suburbs was "spooky". Unfortunately, she was used to East Atlanta (Candler Rd)...
“We’re here to arrest the girls and take her to girl jail.” “CICADAS!”
Love it 😂😂
"By the way, I'm not gay" 😅😅😅
He said that to the wrong family tho 😅
"...but I am bi, and my wife and I are open, so... foursome sometime?"
always called my mom....she always sent my dad 😄
Keenan talking about her period got me!!!!!😂😭😁🤣
