Pros:
- Very lightweight guitar. Musicians who gig standing up may benefit from this feature.
- Very simple guitar. 2 knobs. 1 Volume. 1 Tone. No toggle switch.
- Affordable price point compared to SG, Les Paul, ES-335, etc.
Cons:
- Very strange headstock design. Why did Gibson change it up? Very weird.

I’ve owned 3 Melody makers, they’re nice enough. I see them for $300 every one in awhile and at that point I usually just pick it up. The 2014 Melody Makers are by far the best melody maker. Maybe best Gibson at that low price point

Never played a melody. I like the headstock tbh better than the normal Gibson, maybe I’m tripping. Reminds me of a Martin headstock

I own a 06 or so model with duel single coils. The thing has a distinct RockNRoll bite. The headstock is different due to a simplified design. I believe they are the same neck. Gibson didn’t laminate extra width and carve it like the others. It was designed in a different world than today’s. One where function mattered more than form.

If you are interested in selling I would love to buy it. I have a 1986 one in red exactly like this one. The tuners on yours are not original the original ones came with mini Grover tuners so the guy that sold it to you was not honest about that.
