My friends had a similar story in Rio almost 20 years ago. They were drunk at a nightclub and left when the sun was coming up. Being drunk they thought it would be cool to walk home on Copacabana beach. They walked about 100m before being robbed by 3 guys on motorbikes. They took their wallets and watches and started driving off when my drunk friend screamed out "I need my ID and credit card". All of a sudden the robbers circled back and threw back their wallets (minus the cash). My friends proceeded to thank them and wave goodbye like they were all besties. You couldn't have scripted it better.
A few years ago when weed first became legal I was pulling up to a dispensary and a guy jumped out of the bushes and demanded my money as he drew a Bowie knife and pointed it at me as he walked towards me. Not skipping a beat I pulled my .40 cal out and said not today, looked down and noticed he had in a nice pair of Jordan’s, asked his shoe size and wouldn’t you know it was 11, same as mine. I got his shoes off him, got some legal fire, and laughed my ass off all the way home.

They demanded all my things and really all I had was my phone, empty wallet and my burrito. They were visibly frustrated, I think, because the tie and shirt probably made it look like I had been a better mark than they thought. The 2 guys behind me, were pressing the guy in front, presumably the leader, to ‘beat my ass’ I pleaded with them not to beat me up because I was from across the state and didn’t have any medical insurance, so if they beat me up my life would be so so fucked. Remember this guy has a 250 million dollar contract
There’s a RUclipsr Kurt Katz that was in the favella and all sudden a gun shot from a semi automatic went off and they had to take cover.
Joes right on the ride from the airport, there’s people in the middle of the highway selling crap when there’s a traffic jame.
Selling crap?
WTF
The dude in the favela was smiling. Imagine him in a real shootout in the favelas. He would be rolling and screaming.
Oh Shit, Shane plays Fallout?!?! My man!!!
3:18 if they did you would not know. it's completely accurate..
Check also the films "Tropa d'elite" and "Carandiru".
If you don't want to get robbed in Brazil, you shouldn't walk at all. I got robbed twice because I was walking down in empty streets. Since I started going to places by car, I haven't been robbed anymore. Don't go anywhere too early in the morning or at night. You should frequent only crowded places, but be careful when you are in São Paulo, there is a thing called "arrastão" that is robbers walking together at the same time and stealing people
I got robbed twice in Rio on the same f#cking day.... Pissed me off so bad I booked the next flight out of the country...
You guys don’t know how to move and pick Rio...
Spent 3 months in the north east of Brazil and if you got robbed there it's because you looked like someone easy to rob... I did not get robbed
His name is Killer Mike because he Kills Microphones 🤦🏿♂️ its a play on words
Allegedly Killer Mike had an altercation with Grammy security and the guard is pressing charges. Wtf Joe. I don't even watch TV let alone the Grammys
1:15 “it was pretty cordial” this man really got robbed and then hopped on the biggest podcast in America to brag about how nice the muggers were 😂😂😂 I wish I had this sort of positive outlook lol
7:55 that’s how you can tell he already doesn’t watch football. They cut to her like once or twice? Yea once or twice every play. And then after every play we get to hear the announcers talk about and show replays of her reactions to all the plays… I get it you have no life and love celebrities. Thats pathetic and I’m trying to watch football. Not a 3 and 1/2 hour episode of tmz… 🤡🤡🤡
Lil dice.
I got robbed at knifepoint by a gang of teenagers in Venezuela. They were not nice.
Everyone gets robbed in brazil, even brazilians
I stayed by myself in a favela Chapeu Mangueira in Rio de Janeiro front of Copacabana, surreal survival experience for 9 days, of beautiful sights and experiences and near dead experiences luckily unscathed by then, but near death experiences nonetheless in and out the area.
Why in the heck you guys go the favelas?
Is like a tourist going to Chicago and staying in the O Block.
STL area. A buddy that manages a liquor store just told me about a memo he got about counterfeits in the area. What he told me was exactly what was said about bleaching bills.
You can absolutely buy the paper money is made from, just not the printer or inks, unless your Wozniak some how
Had a guy try to rob me at gunpoint during my gas station graveyard shift. Ended with him in an ambulance with two holes in him, plus he just got sentenced to 10 years 🤙
counterfeiting is a federal crime but doesn't carry much time at all
You need to learn how to use the colon. Joe Rogan didnt get robbed.
U😮
Glorifying robbery - very smart, Joe Rogan
I almost got carjacked, I seen them coming and was able to get in my car and take off, then I called the police and he hung up on me, then they robbed the next guy they seen , then the cops came, true story at my moms house in Chicago! I know nobody cares but. Idk
Shane plays fallout…A DAWGGG😤😤
Have you seen Portland?
Yo how did he know so much about counterfeit 😂
Bible paper is the go to ive heard
Brazil has the best robbers
Sounds like Matt is describing season 1 of Reacher
The reason for the “New” blue strip hundreds, is because the old ones were counterfeit so good they had to change it
@@TyChaff I’m surprised Rogan never had any former counterfeiters on the show. There’s a bunch of pretty talented ones, granted I’m sure the best ones we’ll never hear about bc they don’t get caught...
