Hi Jennifer, thank you sooooooooooooooo much!!! 😁😍 I’m looking forward to sharing what we’ve done as I would’ve liked that over the last 2 years I’ve been trying to learn. Im sure it’s out there, it’s just finding the right words to search 😁
Hello Kirsten! > *waves from Vancouver* < First off, a big huge hearty CONGRATS on getting into the course you are interested in. Whew, what an accomplishement. Thanks for the flip through; I am quite taken with your collage vases with foliage and had to pause the video to go make a few myself. I sense an new collage obsession with these. (They kind of remind me of Helen Wells who is my current art crush.) All the best with your upcoming studies. Oh and wow for the printmaking festival... looks like I need to plan a trip to Stirling Uni for next year's festival. I've always wanted to visit Scotland.
Hi Apple 👋🏻 thank you!! It’s an HNC, live first year of a degree, although may need to repeat first year at university. I love Helen wells too. She’s unashamedly herself. I need some of those giant sketchbooks she uses…they’re definitely bigger than a3 I think, maybe not 🤔 Printmaker festival was great. It was strange to meet social media people 😱😎😂
Hi Dolores, sorry my reply is so late. I love your profile painting. It inspires me!!! I’ve done so much more than I expected to in week 1. It’s been very interesting. We did work with skewers and ink. You can write a lot with them without continually reinking. 😊
Hooray❣️I hope you enjoy the course immensely. Thanks for fitting the video into your busy days. Such a treat to see the wonderful cards and hear all about it. I love your books and how much variety you create with cut and painted paper.
Hi Kristine, sorry I’m so late. It’s been an interesting first week. Very tiring but I love it so much. It’s so good to have some guidance and structure. It opens up so much ideas. I’m hoping to do a video this weekend on week 1. The paisley big art show opens tonight. It has a 1000 artworks from the public (3 of them are mine!! 😂). I really liked the cut paper too. I’ve always struggled with collage but it’s because I was overthinking. Random shapes made it do much easier. ❤️
@@quirkyqueens No worries about time - none of us are driven by a phone-shaped remote control, I hope. More art, less interruption is a good goal. Your random shape prints/stamps inspired me to take a brave breath and have a go at making my own from foam and cardboard. It’s great - so freeing. In more ways than one - ink and paint over the place. Thanks so much for that, for replying, and for all of your videos.
Hi Mel, rarely, I tend to just keep layering and adding. Even with the oil pastels, I’ll pop a layer of mod podge or clear gesso on top so I can add to it.
Oh my, you´re back! 🥳 Did I get it right, dear Kirsten: You managed to enroll in art studies? I am afraid, I got a bit out of training to understand your language. 😂 But: As I can see, you have been very successful making some very interesting art pieces in your scetchbooks. Will you be on youtube again more regularly or will you be too busy with your art classes? I´ve already missed you, my dear 🥰. Xo Britta
Hi Britta!!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰 Yes, I will try be on more frequently. I did get into art college…I start in 5 days 😱🥳 I’m aiming for at least once a week, even if it’s just a round up of what we learned that week. I would’ve liked that when I was trying to teach myself. I hope you’re well dear Britta ❤️❤️❤️
@@quirkyqueens Congratulations, my dear!🥳 These are really good news! I hope you´ll find, what you are looking for 😎 And of course I am looking forward to hear from you more frequently - how you feel, what you´re busy with and so on. / I am as well, as I can be with a 72year old back and knees 🙃
Good luck with your course Kirsten ....you will do so well🎉 look forward to hearing all about it 😊
