Many of those “stats” on Russia are based on prejudice rather than reality, as well as inadequate data presentation. 1. Russia has almost 90 federal subjects, most of which are as safe as any other part of Europe. In 2017, Moscow had 2.5 homicides per 100k (compare to 3.5 in New York City and 1.7 in Paris), but a few small indigenous republics where people abuse alcohol skew the stats, such as Tyva in southern Siberia with its 25 per 100k). The overall for Russia is still not that bad, 6 per 100k and keeps going down. It looks like he used the stats from 10-20 years ago. 2. When it comes to corruption, it’s bad, but Ukraine is way more corrupt by all accounts, so he got it wrong. 3. Russia is a high-income country, and nobody is paid minimum wage. It’s solely used to calculate fines and some fees. That’s why it’s so low, haha (yes, fines are very low in Russia, which is wrong). When you read laws, the penalties are typically expressed as N minimum wages. 4. As a gay man who has lived in Russia most of my life (being openly gay), I can confirm that most people don’t care about your sexuality, and major cities have vibrant gay life, night clubs, etc (unless you live in Chechnya). It became worse after 2013, but still not that bad. You most certainly can’t compare Russia to Afghanistan. It’s a ridiculous comparison with no base in reality. In fact, the Polish society and laws are way more conservative and homophobic. 5. Didn’t you say Finland had the highest suicide rate? I’m confused.

A quick explanation to why Switzerland has the lowest rate of homeownership: In Switzerland it actually doesn’t make sense to pay back your mortgage/mortgages from a financial point of view. The mortgage rates are really low and if you actually pay of your mortgage you’ll only have to pay more wealth taxes. As you all know Swiss people hate paying taxes.... So the low rate of homeownership in Switzerland is actually a good thing
I wonder why they don't vote for lower wealth taxes so that they can own their house one day. I thought the Swiss hold lots of referendums on all sorts of topics.
Dally H. You’re absolutely right! The Swiss vote over everything. But the wealth taxes are already very low. It varies quite a bit throughout the different cantons, but for 100’000 CHF you pay 0.18% (180 CHF) per year. As you can see not really much. But if you add around 700’000 CHF ( Average house) then it’s quite a bit more you pay. Of course it’s still not the world, but for Swiss people it’s enough to not wanting to own their house. It may seem odd to people from other countries and this system may be unique, but it works very well here, like nearly everything else aswell. 😉
I think you can also see it as a service. If you rent a house/flat, you do not have to care about anything. The landlord does take care of the house and property. I live in a house with about 20 flats in it. It is not the nicest house for swiss standards. But even though every flat has a kitchen build in and everyone can use the shared washingmachine and dryer in the basement. Another thing would be the limited space in many regions. Because of the mountains you don't have that much land to build on. I guess in some areas it is very pricy to own land and build a house for your self. The thing about the highest prices in the world is not that bad. You earn a lot in switzerland. I can live very well on a half time job. Everything that has to do with service (restaurant, craft etc.) is very expensive. But other things like cars or electronics are about the same prices as in germany. So if you consider everything together switzerland is a very nice place to live at.
That outline of the basque country you made in 7:43 is preeety spicy. While "Basque Country" is the official name of a Comunidad Autónoma (the administrative and social subdivision below state level) what you have drawn there is Euskal Herria, the historical region that Basque separatism wants as a whole and encompasses neighbouring Comunidad Autónoma of Navarra (with a huge ANTI separatism movement) and some regions on southern France. Also you have included Treviño as part of Alava (and the Basque country as well) while its and exclave of Burgos, Castilla y León, but thats understandable cause spanish geography is a mess.

Romania is the worst country to be get killed by a vampire.
Best
It's only because the change is higher...
We are actually the worst to keep our states united (Why do you think the flag of Moldova looks like this)
First, vampires came from Slavic beliefs, much of which was taken by Romanians today. Dracula himself is an invention of an Irish writer, and the prototype of Dralula was not a Romanian, but a Hungarian count. Until 1920, all of Transylvania was Hungarian. Currently, Romania is a beautiful but very neglected country.
@@mickyschreiber6806 You are aware that Romania is surrounded by slav countries, right? If you can get past our (mostly) latin language we are pretty much like our neighbours because all of us been here for a really long time (all but the mongols though). Are you saying that Vlad the Impaler was hungarian? You said alot and almost all of it was wrong, tf is wrong with you? The only thing that you got right is that Bram Stoker (the writer) was Irish.

As a Moldavian I can confirm that touristic situation in the country is terrible. Even Moldavians don't know some local places to travel, visit or rest. My wife is Russian and she moved to Moldova to the permanent residence an year ago. I still don't have any idea what to show her from architectural, historical or natural attractions. The only... interesting (I guess?) place is Transnistria. That's like a portal to Soviet Union where Soviet architecture has survived and that's pretty interesing for the young people who was born in 90s or later. Except for the Transnistrians themselves, lol

People do vote in Slovakia, it's just that they don't vote in European Parliament elections.
Exactly! This "fact" was misleading
Regional vote? With avg about 30%... EU vote least in union... National half of the nation not interestint about...
@@andrejmaslo5056 you clearly missed the point of Jakub's comment. Slovakia has low turnover only in EU parliamentary elections (only 22% in 2019) however, turnover in Slovak parliamentary elections is a lot higher. 65% in the last election (2020) which is very similar to other European countries.

A quick explanation to why Switzerland has the lowest rate of homeownership:
In Switzerland it actually doesn’t make sense to pay back your mortgage/mortgages from a financial point of view. The mortgage rates are really low and if you actually pay of your mortgage you’ll only have to pay more wealth taxes. As you all know Swiss people hate paying taxes....
So the low rate of homeownership in Switzerland is actually a good thing
That’s so interesting
Same in the Netherlands, it's the reason that Dutch people have on average the most private debt in the EU
