Should a doctor be penalized for merely sitting on a chair during long duty hours? Dr. Vijaylakshmi Verma, working at a government hospital in Bhopal, was issued a show cause notice for sitting with her legs resting on a plastic stool in the hospital ward. In my opinion this notice is both harsh & inhumane, considering the demanding nature of a doctor's profession, which often requires them to stand for 8 to 10 hours during duty.
