This is exactly how I was taught to change brake fluid when I was an apprentice mechanic way back in the early 1980s. Worked then and still works today.
Yep, good old Gravity bleeding. Started my Apprenticeship in 1974 as a Mechanic and this is the way i was taught back then. Have used this method since then and never had an issue no matter what car i have used it on.
I learnt this way years ago and it's the best. As Anthony says, you can be doing something else while the fluid does it thing and you can do it on your own
Старую жидкость надо предварительно откачать ,с расширительного бачка, залить новую. Только потом ослаблять штуцеры. Так будет меньше затрат новой жидкости
That's how I been doing this on my own for 30 years I borrowed the cat water and food feeding bowls its works great sometimes I just let drips on the driveway
Absolutely LOVE this method. Never seen this way before and this is an awesome method if done correctly with precautions. As you say, ensure the brake pistons are recessed back into the callipers which I assume would be to get that last bit of the old stuff out as much as possible. Love how sometimes the simplest method works best. The old KISS principle Keep It Simple Stupid. Love the container reuse, great idea. Thanks once again.
Hey Anth, Zdzisiu here. Tackling this job and will use your method. To finish the job tighten the bleeding valves and give it a few pumps or do you give it a few pumps whilst bleeders are open?
I can’t explain it any better than I did in the video unless it’s better in another video hollow screws do not overtighten them you fill them seat and then nip them a little bit as long as fluid is flowing when you close it not air as long as you don’t let it run out and get any air in the system. You can’t really have a problem, but it is a matter of life and death so if you’re not sure Greg Adams automotive services
If you have just changed brake fluid but doing brakes like a month later, how long do you let the brakes drip if you don’t plan on actually changing the brake fluid?
