Excellent, thank you for these great ideas and the way you have explained body based calming. I am wondering what can be added to these “immediate” calming methods to facilitate relational wellness, … especially when we are in hostile family / work systems?
Hi, Marcus -- I have a bunch of suggestions, but in the beginning, taking a break to get yourself together is a great option. Just make sure you've talked to your partner in advance and let them know that when you are taking a break, it's your responsibility to come back and re-engage and set a default time for the break -- say 30 minutes. If you don't need to take a break, I can come my brain by tapping on the side of my fingers or pressing my hand over my heart. Basically, anything that allows you to stay in the moment and curious, regardless of the hostility of your partner is going to facilitate relationship wellness. I have more coming out on this topic!

Thank you. This should be helpful if one of my students needs to calm him or herself. I tried to find it on your website, but I couldn’t. Help?
