this is my favorite cast and i miss the years watching lost in space, the cast looked fabulous as they aged nicely to June, Angela,Marta, and Billy thank you for the awesome seasons you all did on lost in space you were all my top favorite cast.whatever happen to robot wish he was.there and guy Williams.and mark Goddard as well as Dr.smith i miss them. I am glad you did the interview.i felt like was a part of the Robinson family in space awesome it's still in my heart at age 57 now.always will keep at it to.keep remembering the show
watching this piece was truly a treat I met Billy Mumy at the Dearborn Convention in 1990. What a nice guy. I truly Love Lost In Space then and will always. The show had heart. I will never forget all the joys this iconic show has brought me. Thanks to the cast of Lost In Space.
I was a Japanese primary school pupil when "Lost In Space" was broadcast in Japan in 1960`s, and I was a great fan of this awesome TV program. When I watch former actors of this program, I have to concede that more than half a century has passed since then, and no wonder I`m no longer a kid as I used to be.
I'm 55 and I grew up with Lost In Space! I couldn't wait to watch this on our old Curtis Mathes TV. I was in love with Penny, Angela Cartwright. My first crush when she started in The Sound of Music. Lost In Space. Even the intro music takes me can. Damn! Great time as a kid!!!
Love this series so much. I was only 4 when it was first shown and I believe showed in the UK later. I appreciate it more than ever now on DVD. The stars were definitely Dr smith, Will and the Robot. But every Robinson Family played with conviction. Love June Lockhart. Tv's greatest tv mom in Lassie and Lost in Space.
The original music was composed by John "Johnny" Williams, Who would go on to score such memorable classics as "Jaws", "Star Wars", "Close Encounters of the Third Kind", "Raiders of the Lost Ark" and many many more. Also Bernard Hermann's music was used in the first season, with music from "The Day the Earth Stood Still" and "Beneath the 12 Mile Reef" being notable examples.
Guess i was lucky, my dad INSISTED on a color tv, in 1965 , 3 years before color was released to the genral public. at first, it was only a few shows and ads, but, over time, it blossomed. Too bad, the older episodes of LOST IN SPACE were in BW!!
Beverley Heidenreich I loved Lost in Space as a kid, still do! I watched every episode. I'm 57 now. I Had a huge crush on Judy! Those were the best days of my life! I really enjoyed the music at the beginning of the show.
My three brothers and I loved this show as kids. My fave episodes were The Keeper and the one in a scottish castle with this seaweed covered beast. The background music building the tension was brilliant. John was my hero.
Loved this show when I was a kid. In the 1960's, we were all loved outer space and in those days there was a race to the moon. It was very fun to watch.
it's so wonderful to see Lost in Space cast members. The fans would love to see them rescued from space!!!! I'm talking original cast!!!!!( what's left!)
Oh my....first time I ever saw June Lockhart was on the TV series Lassie as Timmy's mom. WOW I am floored at how beautiful she still is....looked her up, at my posting right now, she is 92.......I am just stunned, didn't even know she was still with us. BEAUTIFUL LADY!!! Not possible to get any classier.

Lourdes Lozada We happened to have Seven people in my family, so everyone had an easy assignment to whom they were. Even Dr. Smith...my oldest brother was real serious, so he was Don....but my poor other brother ended up as the Doctor: but somehow it fit!
Who cares if it started out serious and ended up campy . . . . it was a great show for kids and great memories. The music was so intense to an 8 or 9 year old. And Johnathan Harris was mean in the beginning and became the endearing coward hiding behind Will and antagonistic to the Robot cause he wanted to stay in the series, lol. I love the camp even today ... aah the memories
I watch the show everyday in the afternoon on CHCH Tv 11 Hamilton Ont. It comes on at 3pm. The station runs retro programs from 10am till 6pm for now it seems. A good choice for the Toronto region.
June Lockhart is the classic TV mom and she is always so cheerful and upbeat during interviews. This show was silly but I loved her deadpan delivery of sarcasm on Roseanne.

Wonderful memories of watching Lost in Space reruns right after school! It was a ritual for my sisters and I to watch while eating a snack. Something so simple that made us so happy! Ans we really loved the show! Still use "Danger, danger, danger, Will Robinson"
Great show Fox Producer! Wished you had edited in more clips of the show that we probably saw a 1000 times so we just get to hear voices of the stars we have not seen in 50 years that you took the trouble to invite to the studio
Lost in Space is really two different shows: Season 1 and then Seasons 2 & 3. Season 1 is gritty, artful, serious (enhanced by John Williams' magnificent background score). Seasons 2 & 3 are, for the most part, comical, tacky, campy. And, btw, Marta Kristen looks fantastic in this video!
buddy51 Unfortunately, the "campiness" starts within Season 1. You could argue that the change started in Season 1 Episode 6 with the space cowboy. Season 2 was clearly the high point for campiness. In season 3, there was an attempt to tone it down (I believe because the adult characters were upset with the way the show was going, focusing almost exclusively on Smith, Will and the Robot), but the damage had already been done.
I agree, as I could perceive this even as a kid and, I was disappointed by the route the show took. The Robot and Will kept me watching, a long with the occasional episode with decent writing. One thing I did like was the interaction between John Robinson and Will as, he and the other adult characters didn't talk down to him or cady coat things. He was treated as though he could understand the impacts of his actions, which is why I think it tended to be the doctor who caused the trouble. I think as the show went on, Will was used to fix Dr Smith's chaos. I think had the series stayed more serious it could have been much better.
You do realize 60% of the population is overweight, & 30% morbidly obese so, it's no longer the norm to be fit. So, get off your judgemental high horse.
Jeeesh hosts shut-up and let the other cast members have the dialogue. Great to see them all. Maybe my birthday present will be the 50th anniversary edition in HD so I can relive my happy childhood!

THAT post-production practice is for the traditional half-hour situation comedies, aka sitcoms. We're all suffocating from lack of oxygen in this space ship. Robot Robot by the wall, give us a solution to save us all. ROBOT - Why not open the window ?
Para mí es un placer haber tenido el gusto de vivir la presentación de tan maravillosa serie , que nos transportó a la fantasía de la ciencia ficción,y al mismo tiempo la imaginación .
I loved this show as a kid and still love it now. I enjoyed watching this interview. Everyone still looks great 50 years later. Sad that Guy Williams and Jonathan Harris have passed away. I wonder why Mark Goddard didn't participate in this interview. What I find very sad is the total lack of respect for Angela Cartwright because she's heavy. People change in one way, shape, or form as they age, and I highly doubt that any of you who left negative comments about Ms. Cartwright looks like a fitness model, so you're better off keeping your mouths shut. It's too bad people cannot treat one another with more kindness. There's already too much ugliness, why add to it.
Actually, Mark Goddard accumulated a lengthy list of TV and movie appearances following the cancellation of Lost In Space, and also appeared on Broadway with Liza Minnelli in Martin Scorsese's musical play "The Act" (1978). In 1991 he became a special education teacher in Middleborough, Massachusetts after he finally received his master's degree in education from Bridgewater State College (where he began his studies 30 years prior). Bill Bixby was NOT typecast, he had a lengthy career in front of and behind the camera starring in and directing comedic and dramatic roles in both films and television, spanning over three decades and achieving many awards & accolades for his work. His resume includes action-adventures, comedies, dramas, education, horror, musicals, mysteries, religious programming, sci-fi, war, and westerns, as well as hosting documentaries, participating in game shows, and even commercial advertisements.
I think Will as an adult would have been much like Bill's character on Babylon 5, intelligent, introspective, etc, but also a technology expert; maybe more of a technomage if he was in the Babylon Universe, lol.
My favorite episode was when the robot became giant house sized and Will had to figure out how to restore him to normal size. Second favorite was the alternate dimension episode. Both were very inventive and well written.
I loved this show as a child. The only problem is that when it was live it came on late and my father had to sleep so he could go to work. The worst words I heard was when my father said turn the damn TV off. Whatever I saw I knew I would never see the ending. It was a very bad feeling. Thank God for reruns, DVDs, and pay per view.
I`m a Japanese and "Lost in Space" was also broadcasted in Japan in 1960`s.To be honest, Angela`s overweight is shocking to me because I was her fan, and loved her cute appearance in 1960`s. Anyway, people change a lot as time goes by.
Les escribo en español pues no hablo inglés. Soy de Venezuela. Muchas bendiciones para cada uno de ustedes quienes nos dieron una infancia maravillosa viendo esta excelente serie Perdidos en el Espacio.
Billy is handsome! It was funny when the family came up with various clothes, and other things that could not possibly have had on board. Like Gilligan's Island.
Every boy in 1965 wanted to be Will Robinson. Lost in Space inspired MANY kids to enter into science, engineering, etc.. motivating decades of American innovation and technological advancements. The positive social impact of such TV shows is greatly underestimated.
I wished a million times Irwin would have kept Lost in Space's tone that it opened with. It was a serious endeavor that devolved into fun silliness. Okay - I was a kid back then, so the silliness didnt ruin my interest in it. :-) But when I became a teen - I appreciated the more serious tone the 1st few episodes seemed to present. I loved all the cast regardless - and yes - even Robot.
ImTheDaveman It would have ended up like a " Little House on the Prairie ". A lot of people swear by that format of family in crisis and relationship issues.
The first season was by far the best, but the entire series was before its time. Great cast, they still all look good. Great special effects for its time and the music made the show much more exciting. The new lost in space on Netflix pales in comparison to the original.
I have all 3 seasons of Lost in Space on DVD. I'm 62 years old and it was the best series I've seen in my entire life...
Absolutely the best Sci-Fi series I collected all 3 on DVD in 05. The 2nd down would be Star Trek: The Next Generation.
The show was a HUGE part of my childhood. Loved it then, love it now.

I have a proud picture of me standing in the middle of June Lockhart Marta Kristen and Mark Goddard.
I was grinning from ear to ear
the musical score was totally insane, it's overlooked a lot :)
I liked the earlier intro music. It had a sense of mystery and sci-fi groove to it.

All part of our family TV Sundays...7pm Lost in Space...8pm Ed Sullivan....9pm Bonanza
Bill did the Lennier hand sign and move..awesome!
The first season was by far the best, but the entire series was before its time. Great cast, they still all look good. Great special effects for its time and the music made the show much more exciting.
The new lost in space on Netflix pales in comparison to the original.
I still love this show but watching it now I realize the Jupiter 2 was a space RV for a family camping out on different planets, LOL!
I remember these nice series!
It has just started a re-run on Sky horror channel, fantastic ! Love it as much now as in the sixties.

Met June Lockhart at a convention. She is a 24-carat sweetie!
Got lost in the dressing room with those space cuties.
Does anybody know if the new re-mastered Blue ray series is available for download yet, as originally promised last Spring?
