While Lost in Space fans are certainly glad that the series continues to live on in new ways, nothing quite beats revisiting the original! Part of the charm of the original series was its awesome cast, which consisted of many seasoned television veterans, as well as a few enthusiastic child stars. Amongst the cast were Guy Williams and June Lockhart, both of whom had previously held long-standing roles on major television series during the 1950s.
Prior to Lost in Space, the public knew Guy Williams for his role as the titular lead on the 1957 Disney series Zorro. Meanwhile, the public knew June Lockhart as the woman who played Timmy’s mom on the series Lassie. Other Lost in Space stars that we’ll be taking a look at includes Angela Cartwright and Bill Mumy, who were the youngest two members of the show’s cast. Join Facts Verse as we take a look at the Lost in Space cast then and now.

Okay if I'm not mistaken you do realize that you said June Lockhart was the husband of John Robinson got to pay more attention to the details
Maybe there was something about those two that we didn't know about... 😏
Proofing the final product is apparently illegal for YT vids. Or maybe they just don't care. After all, you're already watching it.
About a show made in 2022 it would have made total sense since 1/2 the population doesn't know what a woman is.
i said the same thing. i had to rewind again, i thought my hearing went out. 😂😂🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂 yup, she is definitely his husband!!!!
Penny Robinson was my favorite on Lost In Space. I was 8 or 9 years old when Lost In Space first aired. I had a huge crush on Angela Cartwright aka Penny Robinson. A boy in my third grade class received a Lost In Space Robot for his birthday. After hearing how wonderful it was, I wanted one for Christmas. He told us the Robot can help us with our homework. I believed him. I never received a Lost In Space Robot for Christmas.
I still want a lost in space robot too and I'm 61 years old.
I hope that didn't destroy your faith in Santa Claus!

@Tom C Angela was a much older woman, but I don't blame Billy, as she was a beauty.
@@craigellsworth3952 - She's only older by about a year and a half. And it apparently wasn't until the 1970s that their relationship got serious to the point where they were engaged. It was Angela who reportedly called it off. Yet they apparently remain great friends to this day.

Robot was hands down was my favorite character on Lost in Space I still love him. 👍🏼
Love this show and the cast.! Great shows growing up in the 60s & 70s😌🌹
We're glad to know that you love the show and the cast! Which Lost in Space episode is your favorite?
Lost in space one of my all-time favorite shows back in the 60s in the 70s in fact I bought the Jupiter too I bought the robot I bought lost in space gun I collect a lot of awesome space memorabilia. My next goals go out to the comicon in Los Angeles I can check out the real Jupiter to love the show the first two seasons black and white were the best🪐⚡️🛸🚀
@@FactsVerse June played the wife not the husband.
Yep I heard it too
A fond reminder of one of my favourite shows when growing up, however you forgot to mention the Robot, the actor who brought it to life and the one whose voice was used to provide the personality.
I loved this show as a kid growing up in the 1960s! To this day, I could swear it was on for about five or six years, not just three! I thought it was as popular as Star Trek!
All the characters were well drawn and brilliantly acted so much so it still had re-runs in the UK
I was a great fan when I was younger and still remember the suspense of waiting for the next show a week later . One small thing you forgot to mention the actor who played the robot who was always a major plot character !
Well said, we agree! Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We're happy to know that you love Lost in Space! Which cast member is your favorite?
@@FactsVerse Angela Cartwright, my first love. I was 10
I’m amazed that I had always remembered that the actor who provided the voice of the robot was Bob May. The name went into my brain all those years ago when my brother and I watched the series as kids and watched the credits at the end, and I’m now 63(!)

Glad to know that you watched Lost in Space! Which episode brought the fondest memory to you?
All of them because they were all great together on the show and it was very very sad to see it end after three years♥️

Great show back in the sixties from Danger Danger will Robinson the B-9 Robot to Dr zachary smith the family Robinson was Iconic. In other videos the focus came on will and the robot but the cast all had a time in front of the camera the toys made say it all. The B9 Robot alone made the most$$$. The actor in the ROBOT in the early 80's that was playing the robot was unvailed .. Loved them all. The robots color silver wasnt allowed on the first robot toy it was sold blue because of the copy rights. Then After the 90's the color was turned to the original silver. Bobby the other robot that was in the Later series was sold as a set. These toys are making tons of money today .Many collectors are to this day are getting 1000 times thier value. On them .

I loved Johnathan Harris. "Oh the pain, Will. The pain!" He was comical about it all. Very high camp. "Indeed!"
Billy Mumy has had an illustrious career as a musician. He is an accomplished guitarist, pianist, singer /songwriter. You could do a whole show on his musical career. He has released several albums and has played alongside Brian Wilson, Ringo Starr, John Sebastian and many others.
I love this show! It was a big hit in Brasil! It was so real! Great memories!
My two favorites were the Robot and Dr. Smith. I loved their sparring throughout the seasons.

The one with the Scottish castle and the ghoul named Angus, but there are several runners-up, such as the one where Dr. Smith turns into a celery stalk and there is a giant talking carrot.
June Lockhart’s father played the part of the judge in the original version of Miracle on 34th Street.
June appeared in the1938 version of A Christmas Carol, along with her father, Gene, and her mother, Kathleen. Gene Lockhart played Bob Cratchit and Kathleen Lockhart was Mrs. Cratchit. June, in an uncredited appearance, played one of the Cratchit children.

Technically, Dr. Smith sabotaged the voyage to Alpha Centauri by messing the ship's guidance system and making them "lost in space." Fun fact: Angela is the sister of Veronica Carwright (Alien). Great show, classic.
And as opposed to the narrator says, Dr. Smith never became a ¨good¨ guy though eventually almost convincing everyone, except Don.
@Joe Blow. Veronica Cartwright also played the daughter of Ward Cleaver's boss in "Leave It To Beaver."
@@lynettepalecek3141 - Veronica Cartwright, Angela Cartwright's sister, also appeared in an episode of the Twilight Zone titled "I Sing the Body Electric", about a robotic or android nanny. Billy Mumy [Will Robinson on Lost In Space] appeared in 3 episodes of the Twilight Zone.
Below, from the New York Post, Dec 28, 2018...
Mumy was in three “Twilight Zone” episodes - most memorably in 1961’s “It’s a Good Life” as the thought-reading demon seed Anthony Fremont.
He also co-starred in “Long Distance Call” (1961) - as a 5-year-old talking to his dead grandmother over a toy telephone - and with Jack Klugman in 1963’s “In Praise of Pip.”
@@tomc8617 I remember an episode of "The Twilight Zone" where Billy Mumy played a young boy who was able to make any of his thoughts come true. The whole town of adults were scared to death of him. A dog was barking excessively and Billy got tired of it so he got rid of the dog without getting near him or her. A man stood up to Billy and then Billy put him permanently in a jack-in-the-box. I think that Billy Mumy was about 7 years old in that episode. He was such a gifted actor!!!! He was born in 1954 and Angela Cartwright was born in 1952.
@@lynettepalecek3141 - Yes, that was the TZ episode titled “It’s a Good Life”. As I mentioned he was in 2 others besides that one.
It could have been Star Trek but it went so silly
It didn't start out that way, however when Star Trek came on the producers realized LIS couldn't compete as sci fi series. So they decided to make a Gilligan's Island in space.
Loved them all, but Penny and Don were my crushes.

Bill Mumy played in that absolute classic (season 3, episode 8) "Twilight Zone," "It's a Good Life."
Bill mumy was on another Twilight zone episode called, long-distance call where a little boy was talking to his dead grandmother on a toy phone. From Ms. Harper Stacey.
I was surprised to see bill mumy in bless the beasts and the children after lost in space. His character was the antithesis of will robinson. He jad a lot of range. I still find the violence and abuse of animals difficult to stomach. The scenes appeared all too real. Good actor, though.

my favourite character was the Robot, he was always teasing Dr Smith. it was favourite tv show I would rush home to watch it as it would start at 4-45pm.
Actually, John Robinson was my favorite character on the show. And that's because after my father and Capt. Kirk, John Robinson was my 3rd childhood hero. And as for Penny, well she had to be my very first childhood crush. I was only 5 when it came on and she was 8 yrs older than I was. But there was something about Penny that even a 5 yr old could love. But lets be honest, Dr. Smith, Will and The Robot owned that show. And I loved them all.
I am in full agreement with you about penny.
We all wanted a Father like John Robinson the hero most of the time! He was always risking his life even for Smith! Guy was excellent in the role but never given the credit he deserved!
My favorite character was the robot. Danger, danger, warning warning.
SHE was the HUSBAND? I don’t think so.
Perhaps she had more balls than John Robinson ...
@Louis Landi. I agree. That was a big slip-up.
My favorite Billy Mumy . Older then I was , but as a kid was my hero.
I was twelve years old when Lost In Space came out and I had a big crush for Angela Cartwright .
June Lockhart's screen debut was in The Christmas Carol (1938) her parents Gene and Kathleen Lockhart played the Cratchet's
I'm guessing I was about 6 yrs old when first watching Lost in Space. This would have been the late 1960's. I never got to see the show in color since we didn't get our first color tv until much later. One of my favorite shows at that time even over Star Trek at that time because of my age. I picked up the DVD set of all 3 season's when it was first released many years ago. I tried watching it once but I wasn't as into it as I thought I would be. I started watching the entire series again (all 3 seasons) and so far, I really enjoy it because I of the nostalgia and the memories it brings back. I had a crush on Penny just like all the other fellas did at that time.
If you can justify the expense get the blu ray version. Absolutely amazing video quality.
Guy Williams as Professor John Robinson was my fav - classic father figure who reminded me of my dad
He was always such a good male role model! His only flaw was letting Will hang out with Smith too much! After the “Invaders From the 5th Dimension”, I would never let him near my kid again! THAT was the moment they could have gotten rid of Smith! The Invaders could have said, “We can’t use Will, so we will just have to use Smith instead”!
Let’s be honest though, the show would not have been as good without Smith, since he was the ultimate interesting antagonist! I loved the Robinson’s, but it would have been a rather bland show without Smith’s hijinks and shenanigans!! It created a great balance to the show, (although I agree, it took over the show at times, and allowed no development for the rest of the cast)!!
My favorite is will
Um dos maiores seriados de todos tempos!

Both John and his wife Maureen were doctors on Lost In Space? I never heard that before. I knew June Lockhart was a doctor on _Petticoat Junction._ I really loved _Lost In Space_ as a kid in the 60s. I made my own Jupiter 2 by gluing paper plates together. I would run around the house like an annoying little kid making my own flying saucer sound effects. "Be-beep-bop-bop-bee-boo Look OUT! Here comes Jupiter 2 crash landing into another freaky planet!"
Did you ever notice how the Jupiter 2 was so much bigger inside than it looked from the outside? They never showed the whole flying saucer on the ground. Just that one area by the front hatch. If you looked at the curve of the saucer it was obvious that the ship was not very big.
I have the first season of "Lost In Space" on dvds. In the first episode of the first season, they introduced her as Dr Maureen Robinson. It sounds like you had a lot of fun with your Jupiter 2 flying saucer that you built when you were a kid in the 1960s. Lol.
There was a full sized mock-up on its landing gear which they barely used - ‘’The Derelict’’ and ‘’Visit To a Hostile Planet”. There were a couple stock shots of what was supposed to be the whole ship embedded in the ground, but none of these mock-ups was very convincing; just way too small, but it was tv, and the sets and interiors were very expensive as it was.
@@robertdoherty2001 I remember that landing part you described. I don't know the episode titles, but I watched the _Lost In Space_ reruns many times on cable when I had it in the 80s and 90s.
Being eight years old when the show originally aired, I was throughly convinced when the Jupiter 2 was flying through space with those cool revolving lights on the bottom. I don't know what happened to the storyline, but by the third season it was getting kooky with Penny go-go dancing and space hippies. lol
That show went downhill fast after they got away from the space travel part of it and made Dr. Smith the dominant character.
