Quite refreshing to hear a YT reviewer actually share their opinions on brands. Not everyone likes everything, but it sure seems like every YT reviewer likes everything!
Yes, this is a big pro. He also has a very keen eye for detail and doesn't miss a spot! :)
Dude, it's ALL about his wife's opinion! 😂
@@DonaldJoeKennedy It's also about his opinion of his wifes opinion.
CITIZEN RULES 💪 love my AW1828-80X!
I used to agree with you about Citizen, but their new Tsuyosa, Small Seconds and the Forza Titanium releases recently have really caught my attention. I think they're ace.
The finishing is spectacular. Not for the price, just spectacular in general.
@@anandmorris Agreed.
I picked up a used Forza Titanium Eco drive in pristine condition and it's one stunning watch!
The new BM8180-62E is a delight
No one but watch people notice watches. Some people might "clock" a well known high end brand name like Omega or Rolex but even then they won't care. Just like me and trainers, you could have £1,000 shoes on and I'd not know or care!
Thankfully the only difference between a bad haircut and a good one is a few weeks.
😂Ouch! Admittedly, I agree though. Sorry, Russell. You're solid within a couple weeks though. 👍🏼
I can see a jealous bald dude comment a mile away. Gotta love yourself my friend! Thats the goal in life . Those are the people we gravitate to ! Those that don’t love themselves give out negativity . You take care of yourself
@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR
Russel. Push back all you want, but it isn't the best. My wife isn't keen either, and she's not bald.
Keep up the good work
Ah Russell, aren't you giving out negativity as well in your comment.
@@paddypower5965 not if you read it Paddy
This is the best and most fun watch channel ever. Period!
Way too kind my friend! Thanks for your continued support!!!
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR Yes well, the last few days I was wondering where you were... and was glad to see a brand new video from you again today, made me happy. :) I really felt like: Click it!!!! I wonder how that came to be... :)
@@Smartzenegger it took a couple of days to get the haircut done!! Hahahaaa
Tissot, citizen, omega are three of my favorite watch brands. But luckily there is no wrong or right in taste.
I agree. But a strong case can be made against Invicta...
Me too!!
Russ my friend....put some AC in your studio mate! I thought you were gonna sweat yourself away!! 🙂
I collected and built a lot of watches over the past two years. I am back to wearing my G-SHOCK again. It is perfect!
I too have a new appreciation for my G-Shock, ever since getting a factory job where it really shines - and is my ONLY watch that could take the abuse!
@@crybabychrononaut Yes, it is so nice to wear a watch that you don’t have to worry about.
I agree with you about Citizen except for their Promaster automatic dive watches of which I own two (a Pepsi and a Coke); I think they're awesome watches 👍
Then I wonder, your thoughts on the Citizen AS4050-51E please.
Seriously??? Citizen is KILLING it lately!!! C’mon MWC, get with the program! 😅
That's right...Citizen isn't playing around these days.
Forza titanium
Hating on Citizen in 2024 is incredibly corny
Gunning for Seiko's spot and succeeding
New citizen releases are great and all... But the watches are still too big for a 6 1/2 wrist
I used to feel that way about Citizen until I got a BN0151 Promaster Diver for an ocean adventure last year. It's a damn good watch and a bargain on the grey market. I recommend you try one. Cheers!
Yeah, I'm about to pull the trigger on the BN0150 (classic all-black with rubber-plastic band) as we speak.
"It's you that keeps me going" Happy to be enablers for your addiction, MWC. It's mutual!
Thank you my friend!!!
I don’t understand how you can say the Seamaster 300 doesn’t have history.
When the question of a 3 watch holiday collection came up and preferably Casio, my mind jumped to my 3 Casios; GA2100, GBX-100, and Oceanus T-200.
Nica haircut, mate 👌
As the wife would say, “Don’t like it!!!” 😁
More importantly what does the wife think 😂
Stunnah!
I don't know... Now he looks less like a Mad Watch Collector and more Sensible Watch Collector 😂
I gotta give a shout out to the Omega Railmaster! Classic simple and beautiful.
I agree on Citizen. .
There was a JDM Tsyosa I sort of had my eye on, but I just couldn’t do it.
The Certina DS PH200M reissue is a banger of a watch, Russ. Give it a look.
Appreciate your takes on watch brands, I kinda think your own journey influences this. My first watch was a tissot wind up watch in 1979, when the world was turning digital( still got it) I got a Longines for my 21st( dress watch) which I still own. A citizen ecodeive saw me through 20 years of raising kids and is indestructible. And then my sub 14060m from the birth year of my fist son. My dads Omega speedmaster which he has passed down will always be special. The personal story can be as important as the brand story, and create soft spots for brands. I have nothing original in the line up, just personal.
Citizen and Casio are my favorite two watch brands. Tissot I like, but I have to send my Couturier back in for a sticky date wheel… Same quartz movement as in the PRX Quartz. I love what Citizen is doing, got the Unite the Blue Promaster with a Jubilee braclet from Long Island Watch. I wish the bezel was a little better aligned and I wish the second hand hit the markers perfect. Casio Edifice is seriously really really good, polishing, steel, sapphire glass, accurate quartz movements, and the markers hit perfectly on both of mine. Definitely getting the Citizen 365 as soon as I graduate a truck driving school and get a paycheck under my belt. 👌🏼
You made me buy a G Shock..... and I LOVE IT!!
Legend!!
So which one is it? Is it a G-Shock GW-3000M-4AER?
Looking down at my Tissot PRX, the only watch I own haha. I do agree with the criticisms people make about the brand though. I've got the mother of pearl dial, something you don't see everyday. It's a versatile piece, easy to dress up or down and can tick quite a few boxes. You could say Tissot function as a gateway brand into watch enthusiasm, worked for me. Would I buy another Tissot? Probably not, but I'm not sure I'd be watching this video now if I hadn't bought one. 9 months on the wrist I'm happy with my purchase, great place to start, no reason to stick with the brand though haha.
I got the Tiffany blue dial prx 80 last year as well. I love it and just as much as my other watches .
That Doxa you own is an absolute Gem. Beautiful watch. I love dress watches, specifically vintage Omega, Cartier, but, I do love a “colourful” dive watch. In my opinion Doxa and Squale make the nicest dive watches. Thank you for the content.
Love this! Gotta be a G-Shock for when Mad Max world actually happens eh 😅
Still love my Citizen C022 Promaster Aqualand. Bought it in Singapore about 30 years ago. Still looks great imho.
Loooove the “click it” part
He has such personality and is so witty. i'm glad that his channel is doing so well.
Yes, that's why I never click it... besides, I've seen all the previous video's anyway.
Yep, I keep waiting for it lol

Aye Matey!
THANK YOU for bashing Citizen, as I honestly do not "get it" about them anymore, because my actual Citizens BOTH failed after no more than 5 years of use, and of my quartz watches with Miyota calibres HALF of them failed as well! Meanwhile, ALL my Seiko/TMI calibres still run, some as old as 35 years!
You also got it right about Timex. Thanks to Snoopy on the dial, I have 2 Indiglo watches now, plus a Waterbury GMT, but got them on sale for 60 dollars a pop, and they are NOT worth a penny more! At the low sale price, they have a certain charm, and I am keeping them, but they are absolutely not worth the up to 200, that Timex wants for them, whether it is the 60 click bezel on the white dial GMT model TW2U99100, that makes lining up the GMT hand impossible for any time zone not on a 2 hour increment, or the cheep and cheesy look of the Snoopy face watches!
I've got a 7.5" wrist and I've owned a Breitling Super Avenger from new since 2007. It is a big watch at 48mm but doesn't look too massive on my wrist TBF...Although it's also very thick as well and does weigh about 250g...
I wear an avenger seawolf on an eight inch wrist. V thick but I love it for the yellow dial.
The "Breitling Invicta". Oof, sorry. But, well, you know... 🤷🏽♂️
@@DonaldJoeKennedyIt's hardly a bloody Invicta just a bloody big Breitling..In my defence I did buy it new back when oversize watches where the dogs danglies😂😂
Maybe you should check out the Citizen Tsuyosa Small Seconds
That Longines Big Eye is my grail watch. Love it
It's a great watch and a strap monster.
Love you too, MadMan! Thanks for remembering the 8 inch wrist enthusiasts!
Damned some hairs are missing :D It was a quite shocking 😁
Damn' good one again Mate ! Thank you 😉
I enjoyed this Russ. I think the seamaster history that people I grew up with relate to in a big way is always the Brosnan Bond era ... But yeah as we know, in the Fleming book the Omega was never present, just product placement 😅...keep up the great content 🙌
As for Certina, take a look at DS Cascadeur. It's very authentic and self-valuable. First and second generation of course.
Thanks for your thoughts. Wait! Did you say digital MWC Watch?! Can’t wait!
@2:05 excuse me
What about Certina DS PH200M Ceramic 2020 version ? What do you think about that watch ?Kinda looks awsome with vintage charm and nice mesh milanese bracelet...
haircut Russell isn't real
haircut Russell can't hurt us
No Tissot, Omega, or Citizen?!.... well.... I love you too I guess....
great Q&A love hearing your thoughts, can't understand why anyone buys a watch for someone else's opinion or attention. love the fact you are true to your own likes and dislikes. I'm sure I have a couple of watches that I have bought that I no longer like, so why would I be unkind to someone else wearing something that doesn't float my boat. I love talking to people about watches, particularly when its a brand or a model I don't fancy, I then at least understand what others see in that thing.
Keep up the good work chap.
I would be very interested in a MWC digital watch! Can’t wait to hear more! Another great Q&A show MWC!
Thanks so much for answering my question, Russ! Fantastic to hear your thoughts. 🙏
If you ever want to sell that Fortis cosmonaut drop me a line, been after a good example for a while.
Great episode!
My apocalypse watch arrived today! A G-5600UE.
Hey you used my question! Yayyyz. Good choices for money being no object. That Ghostbusters watch is cRaZy!
I have to admit, i was not a particular fan of citizen, but i recently got a eco-drive "modern" chrono, and i am massively impressed with th finishing and specs (inc sapphire crystal). Its great as i don't need to set it after a weekend. Will be getting a tsuyosa small seconds soon too.
Omega... i just find them boring and a bit fake. I mean, James Bond is cool, but its a fictional character!! Leave it be, stop milking it. The basic seamaster is soo expensive too. And that stupid helium valve. Ugh.
Tissot were one of my faves, still have a square ana-digi i was gifted for my 21st back in 2003. Love that. But totally put off by them using plastic parts in their powermatic movements, and their tendency to use non screw down casebacks.
I only own 1 citizen - Tsuyosa small seconds with gold guilloche dial. Its great.
best two watch collection... f91w and rolex explorer
I feel ya on Omega. I own 2 and will hopefully get a third one day, but man, I really don't like a lot of their more recent releases.
I think the new Citizen Eco Drive 365 watches are really nice. I like mine! Some of the Series 8 are really good as well, expensive but nice. I guess it just depends on what you are into. The grand irony for me is that I've never been a Casio fan, but I really like that Casiotron. That's on my watch and maybe buy list.
I'm only upset that the Willard is no longer your favourite Seiko 😥
Seamaster > Submariner
What you feel for Tissot I feel for Seiko. Citizen love is growing in my heart, they are really trying hard to give value for money, Seiko used todo that. Seamaster is kinda dull, but Omega in general has beautiful dress watches for good value, oh wait! You wear t-shirt’s and Nike dunks, so there goes that. As always, thank you for sharing.
I'm the same with Seiko. Dull as with increasing prices but decreasing quality.
Another great, insightful, and hilarious vid from MWC! I couldn't agree more on Citizen watches, too. They're just boring and I wouldn't even buy them at 90% off retail. I have 2 Citizens that are vintage (one goes back to 1993!), but I never wear them. They're just way too, well, boring! It's like seeing someone wear an Apple Watch at a black tie event. AND, YES, I HAVE SEEN THAT HAPPEN!!
Looking good my dude
Who is wearing a Vostok after all these days. Wouldn't want to be seen with anything that reminds of russia. Would you drive a Lada for example?
I still wear mine on occasion. All 3 bought and paid for long before the current war. They were all second hand buys from sellers outside of Russia anyway.
Is it just me or do others also not want to bring a GMT on holiday? when I go on holiday I want to forget about everything at home including what time it is there
Great point!!
Couldn't agree more! No newspapers or watching the news either. The watches I wear on holiday are just functional jewellery.
That SLA seiko looks awesome.
I have a 8.5 in wrist and love my Bulova Lunar pilot. Be great to see more large watches reviewed!
I completely agree about Omega.
Ah, that’s shame on the Timex… but fair enough by you; I really love what they’ve been doing over the past few years with their reissues and homages. Funny enough with Citizen, I have one, the first version of the Nighthawk and that’s so far the only Citizen I’ve genuinely been excited by - and it’s the only pilot’s watch in my set.
Ive got a Marlin Chrono and a MK1 and they're both great value and lovely to look at. The straps were hideous though. The MK1 got scratched early on but a tiny dab of aquafresh sorted it
Oooh the Omega bit hurt - ngl. LOL Certina and Tissot - would agree definitely. Bremont (I have no idea why anyone buys a Bremont). Another cracking video Russ. You're smashing it. Plus you've invented a new word "Brick sh'ouse".
So utterly love your videos😂
As long as Casio and Certina are around, I will be a happy boy.
Thanks for the thoughts mate! - Great suggestions and sharing ideas, i pretty much don't like the Citizen that much either.. i kinda started to like Forza Super Titanium from them.. what do you think? do a review probably?
hey, look at you! finally got a haircut, very nice 😊
With you on Citizens, just sold mine, nothing wrong with it but just didn't bond I suppose.. However I do like The Citizen. Spotted a guy in the bookshop wearing a Mondaine and mentioned it, think he was happy I recognised it!
Good day my dear friend Russell !!!! Great video. And yesssss I love that 1983 Voice note M516-4009. (never came in a M561 jajaja) Its is quite a classic.
And totally agree with you Longines ALL the way. I love my old conquest VHP. Keep the videos coming and remember ""CLiiickkkkkkkkkk iiiiittttttttt !!!!!
Maybe it's a market thing, but here in the USA there's quite a price gap between Longines and Certina, with Certina being competitive with Tissot while Longines is nearly halfway to Omega.
There is here my friend. But where should Certina sit in the Swatch group pyramid! They have far more iconic watches from there back catalogue than Tissot but are hidden behind their shadow. The build quality , the proportions everything needs to be rethought . Strip away 50% of the catalogue they sell and make them a step up from Tissot to Longines or just sell the brand and let someone else look after the legacy!
Got to the end... respect..
Love my 5 Citizen watches, cant fault them ❤
We missed u my boy🙏🏼
Good stuff! Yeah! We’re still friends!
Hey Russ. I like the haircut. Looks good. But I disagree with you over Grand Seiko's power reserve indicator. It ruins the symmetry more than a date complication. It's not needed. I have more than a few watches, so I'm always winding them anyway. Lol. Great video as usual. Always look forward to them.
Thank you my friend. I did a review of the Baby snowflake a few months ago. It was quartz so had no indicator . I felt like the dial was naked!!!!!!! The snowflake needs it!;)
@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR you could be right. I guess it's like a calling card. You see it and recognize the watch immediately. Sort of like the helium escape valve on a Seamaster Diver 300m. I like the watch, but hate that helium escape valve. But I guess it wouldn't be a Seamaster Diver 300m without it.
You should REALLY look at the citizen NB1050-59E !
ITs everything and more the SARB used to be! I am a seiko aficionado! I have 3 grand seikos and a bunch of presages and proxpex! This citizen and the blue variant the -12L are what i loved about seiko decades ago! Its so well done! Thank me later!
Btw the pictures give it zero justice! Trust me! The case is just insane in hand.
I bought a Citizen 660 watch 5 months ago. It has a perpetual calender , chronograph, alarm, eco drive, sapphire crystal, radio control, and 200m of waterresistant rating. Still i only use it for setting my other automatic ( Seiko) watches...😂. Should i sell it? 🤔 Than again i still have my Citizen titanium chronograph that i bought in 1993 ( titanium was a bit special back than).
I’ll be selling off my BB58, among other Swiss brands. I’m sticking with Seiko and Citizen.
Looks like you just came off the court mate!🤣
100% I did and it was 28 degrees inside the studio! The hair usually covers up the sweat! Have to remember that from now on!
Really think you would like the citizen ny0120 the orange or the yellow one.
If you like the Seiko Willard, I'd try the Certina DS 2 Turning Bezel. Maybe the dial doesn't pop as much, but it feels much higher quality in hand for the same price as the Willard.
I must admit I didn’t feel the difference in quality my friend. Their modern reinterpretations just lack a character or personality for me. Take the logo off the dial and apart from the cool turtle shell on the caseback , there’s no signature there that reminds me why I bought into the brand . For me , Certina need to be sold to someone that can take them out from the shadow of Tissot! In my opinion the brand should be a step up from Tissot with far more iconic looking watches from the past .
@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR I can certainly agree that they are not utilizing so many of their iconic models from the 60s-70s, and I’d love to see them bought out of the Swatch group. Thank you for your reply!
Great video my friend as always, but I’ve got to disagree the Vostok has great brand heritage and history and a unique case design!
6-inch-wrister here, looking forward to that show!
Nice!!!
Buy Vintage watches - Longines, Omegas, Hamiltons, Benrus they are all smaller than todays watches. Even as late as the 1990s watches were much smaller
5.5 - 6 inch wrist. Also looking forward to that show
You know, I put a lot of thought in the “what watch would I pick in a case of an apocalypse”..
And yes, at first I made the choice of a solar powered piece- it makes sense. No?
Ahh, I think there’s a catch! In some ‘realistic’ apocalyptic scenarios (not zombies and such), in most likelihood-
we will be blocked from the sun🤷🏼♂️.
So, if I don’t want to be dependent on an outside source, any source, I will choose a mega robust automatic ☝🏻.
My argument with watches is, as long as I like how they look and it brings me joy, I'd get it and I'll just forge my own memories with it.
Will we ever see Casio Corner returning ?
✌️
My takeaway from this video which I’m sure took a lot of time….Russel has had a haircut hahah 0:55
Out of all the watches I bought during a couple months of retail therapy while my mother was in hospice, the only one I regret is the Tissot PRX. I’ve only worn that thing twice and can’t sell it to anyone
You need to take your own advice when people criticise Seiko! 😂
Hey I heard Mr. Pagani copied your haircut!🖨️

@@THEMADWATCHCOLLECTOR 😂🤟👋
- Omega Seamaster just looks so 80’s especially with that braclet.
Surely Citizen's Jp2000-08E gotta be an exception? Love the retro vibe that gives.
AQUALAND?!?! Yeah probably!;)
❤this is so good .and i only own 2 watches and they r both casio.
How about a top 5 watches by the missus?
With written commentary obviously. 😉
On est d'accord sur les montres en cas d'apocalypse.. la casio dw5600 ou la Seiko snj025.. j'ai les deux .. une sur chaque poignet ça fera le job 😂
Wearing the Tudor Pepsi GMT the men’s department of Rolex, 7.5 inch wrist.
Great show as usual
Lol: one thing that I have noticed over the years is that I rarely like other peoples watch collections as much as my own- I think it boils down to memories, family history of the watch, tastes or preferences ( why I choose that watch in the first place). I have many vintage or family heirloom watches THAT I LOVE OWNING and almost never ware.( I have watches from 4 generations of both my and my wife's families!). I also have some very nice dress watches that I LOVE, but almost never ware. So, I disagree that if you haven't warn a watch in several month you should get rid of it. My grandfather's Hamilton Ventura gets wrist time once or twice a year for mother's day brunch kind of events.
And, angular momentum is what makes the world go round. 😂
The citizen ProMaster black dial made in 1997 is a Seiko killer
Love my doxas , got a couple , a seiko and an oris diver too . But can’t agree on Certina being boring , but maybe because I’ve just bought a watch you’d hate , namely the titanium Certina 38 mm ds action , love mine , don’t you turn your nose up Russell nether lol
