"The Violation of Negankerdak" is an original song we wrote taking place in an original fantasy world. The song centers on a pure and unbreakable material, "black diamond" and a sword naturally formed of this material. This is the 3rd part of 4 in our "Legend of Negankerdak" series. We hope you enjoy it:)
Song Description:
The Legend of Negankerdak continues.
The great Earth Guardian Rilfar greatly desired to return the Sword Negankerdak to the Dwarven people, with a gentle reprimand for their conceit and avarice. He had found a worthy heart in the good dwarf Mordaar, and entrusted this message to him, along with the Sword itself.
But a twist came to his plan, as one of the Vordans, the arch-enemies of the Guardians, became aware of the Unforged Sword’s awakening…
And beyond all these events are the portentous words of the Sword itself to Mordaar: “To the dwarves I was commended, but not for dwarf my use intended. Another there is I must employ, the world to save or to destroy…”
We wrote the lyrics, composed, and arranged the piece. My family sang it.

Lyrics:
The Violation of Negankerdak
(Tara)
The living fire warms, and unto ash it burns!
(Dinach)
Water gives life, and the drowning depths it churns!
(Nergalin)
The wild wind whispers, and howls in great gales!
(Rilfar)
The earth supports all, and over all prevails.
(Turarel)
This paradox does the Lightcatcher know.
Its history marked by weal and woe.
(Orla)
By it the Yrewven were cast from the land -
(Aerial)
The five kingdoms riven by an errant hand.
(Guardians)
The Earthwrought Sword is a weapon of death -
It was formed to sever souls from their breath.
(Treal)
Yet the light must enter the darkest lair,
So to banish the lurking shadows there.
At Negankerdak's waking, inflamed with hate,
A Vordan crept up through a black Shalda Gate.
An enslaving shroud cast through the Golm Mountains dim,
It fell upon Arnen, a Golm Watcher grim.
His spirit was old, his ancient heart cold,
Prone to receive what the fell Vordan told.
A sentinel Seye’Lahn, of the cursed first race,
Awakened, he silently strode to the place,
Where Mordaar encamped, the Unforged in his hand,
Which Arnen beheld, his eyes like a brand.
Negankerdak burned a deep crimson fire,
And gripped them both in its baleful ire.
Yet naught could the fire of black Vorda stay -
Arnen on Mordaar, a hunter on prey,
Descended in malice, and the two fires flamed,
Unforged and Seye’Lahn in a contest untamed.
The Seye’Lahn employed maligned steel,
The shadow-bound, and Mordaar did feel
The dread of doom as desperate harried
The ruthless blade he hopeless parried.
The Earthwrought’s glow became as frozen,
In the hand of one unchosen.
Harrowed beneath the Seye’Lahn skill,
Mordaar fought withal until…
Strange Dinach's green moon beheld what it cost,
When the dwarf to the fiend in the fierce battle lost -
Rilfar's design, to protect the great Sword,
Undone by the wiles of a dark Vordan lord.
Now the ancient foe does Negankerdak wield.
To Vorda's darkness will its destiny yield.
And from the heart of the earth into its hand,
Mordaar was seen no more in that land.
(Treal's prophecy)
Now forsaken, the Sword is taken,
But Light shall come very soon...
Powers shaken, the Stone awaken,
And so shall rise the Secret moon...
Forever I will be searching for you...
Forever I will be seeking you...

Enjoy does not even begin to describe how this made me feel. This is one of your finest works to date. From the incredible artwork, the deep world building, and I don’t know the technical terms for it, but the fact you guys used the same tune or rhythm or whatever it’s called from the first part is so cool! It fits so well and really adds to the storytelling.
Of course the vocals and instrumentals are immaculate as always but that’s a given with all of your work
I love the song, but the story is a bit anticlimactic in pacing if you go straight from part 2 to part 3.
I could feel the battle. It was/is awesome :D
"But light shall come very soon..." --> Will part 4/4 released very very veeeeeryyyyy soon, please^^
This is going to sound weird... But I feel oddly inspired, as part of how this prophecy is layed out seems to fit one of my primary characters. I don't really want to go into detail in public, in case I ever write the story someday, but the whole "Secret Moon" thing fits in perfectly with his trials and story... As he'd fled his house and home, the land of the Moon, simply because they didn't accept him for who he really is.
I can see it evolving to this hero wielding a Moonwrought blade.
Mordaar : *finds epic sword of legends*
Also Mordaar : I can't wait to tell that story to my kids ! Homeward we go !
Also Mordaar, a few hours later : Guess I'll die instead.
0:25 whoever put those notes together deserves a round of applause for interpreting “violation” so well.
This took a dark turn I did not expect, RIP Mordaar, you were humble and true.
But it parallels the lay of nimrodel a lot. Especially the longer version
HE LIVES! Mordaar survived!
@@3rdtimesthecharm376 Uh, I'm pretty sure Mordaar died. "From the heart of the Earth into its hand," is a pretty clear reference to Mordaar dying and going to his grave. "Mordaar no more was seen in that land," is an even clearer reference. If you're referencing the Reclamation of Negankerdak, then the Lost One is not Mordaar. He's not even a dwarf as Negankerdak tells Mordaar that it (the sword) was not meant for Dwarves.
@@Zilla1954 listen to the claiming again
@@kaelanstormwell7709 Okay. I kinda thought that "The good dwarf though wounded lives now afar" referred to the Dwarven race in general, but listening to it again, it is clearly in the context of Mordaar specifically. My apologies, I just thought the words of the Violation just sounded so definitive.
After dozens of listen, I am still barely grasping at the musical genius behind this piece.
I've been waiting for so long for the next part of Negankerdak! One of my absolute favorite things you've done!
The man, the first, stepped toward Clamavi De Profundis, and kneeled down :
"My watch time is yours."
The elf, second, kneeled down and expressed himself :
"And my comment is yours."
Now the dwarf bursted, jumping on his feet :
"And my like !"
Amazing! The Negankerdak songs are some of my favorites.
Really hope the final part will come soon as well!
Likewise, it just hits all the best parts of fantasy while being an intriguing original
I agree, that this is a great tale as a whole and is worth sticking to to hear the ending, but soon is probably not the best word. It has been a long time since the Secret entry.
Now what surprised, is that they stated that they conceived the Negankerdak piece to go along a rpg they were playing.
So I thought the songs were fully written as preparatory work before starting playing, and we'd see one per month. Yet, it took around a year to get the third one.
Is it the price to pay to get such great result ? I feared that somehow the production of the songs had been impaired, and that we'd never hear the sequels.
@@oneoranota Wait, you're saying they made this up based on an rpg they were playing? That is so cool! Do you know which one they were playing?
I'm starting to think that someone other that Rilfar should be in charge of protecting Negankerdak...
But he's the coolest guardian!
I am so invested in the lore of all this, it's beyond amazing
Not Mordaar!! You knocked it out the park once again guys, I can't wait to see how it finishes!
Bro I know right I'm so sad about him. Maybe there's still hope lol
@@kalebscott282 True, they didn't say he died, just that he was not seen again.
Well, I saw the dark shadow lurking in the background at the very end of "The Secret of Negankerdak" and I knew there'd be a harsh twist...
...but oh, that twist is still painful! 😞
I’m not sure how I feel about the more contemporary instrumentation with this one but seeing as it is apparently used to denote disorder I can get on board with it.
WHAT THE HECK! AHHHHGHGHGGH THIS IS AMAZING AND I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE LAST PART!!!!
I wait so long for next history about negankerdak. THANK YOU❤
I was literally just listening to The Loss of Negankerdak the other day and wondering to myself when the new song would be coming out! Thanks so much, amazing song
WOO! More Negankerdak! It's the epic story that's sung so well I want to see a Dwarf Fortress game play out according to its lore, hahaha.
My favorite out of all the three parts of Negankerdak so far, I gotta say. Here's hoping part 4 is an even mightier finale to the saga!
I have been waiting for the continuation of this tale! Plus your artworks are always so good too!
Finally ! The song i was waiting for, thank you
Slowly but surely we learn the different guardians domains. Tara is fire, Dinach is water, Nergalin is wind, Rilfar is earth and Irna is their creator goddess of nature. Maybe Treal is prophecy/time/oracle. All of the guardians are propably associated with a color and a moon considering the first songs background picture. Only three more to pin down. So what are Turarel, Orla and Aerial? And if the first Negankerdak song is anything to go by, in how far do they overlap? That female voice is a good question, too. Is she the hidden moon, since moons are symbols/synonyms of the guardians, as so far has been implied? Man, this series of songs is like an old bardic epos. Great job, very well done!
I think Erna is more of a concept than a god and Turarel is their leader
These songs make me so curious about the lore and fictional history of this world. It sounds so epic!
I love that the Guardians sing about consistent themes like Nergalin singing about the winds both in this and the first video.
This series must be a genre of its own. Such a unique style!
Did my boy mordaar dirty, he ain’t even get 15 minutes with that sword before some dude cut his head off
This was absolutely awesome. Thank you for sharing it with us. I’m looking forward to hearing the next part of the story. Your music grabs the imagination and pulls all of us along with you into a world of legend and enchantment. You have never failed to delight.
This just came out today and i already cant wait for the last part!
I have been waiting for this….and I’m not disappointed!
Love what you did with the melody!
I love it and you absolutely must listen to it with headphones to hear all the instruments in the background
On a purely technical level, I think it's quite cool how you mirror the original Legend Of Negankerdak song with the same progression and musical rhythm as it says at "Negankerdak! That thief in the night!" as when you say "The Seye'Lahn employed maligned steel". Very clever.
Not aesthetically my favourite song of yours, but very cleverly made nonetheless.
I had chills listening to this
I sincerely hope/wish that one day that Legend of Negankerdak is made into a, or several, book for I would buy it.
I really like these songs and am looking forward to what comes next.
Thank you once again for making such great songs with such a high quality.
Wow, bravo! This was amazing!!
It is an absolute gem.
Yes!!
Finally a 3rd oneeee!!!!
Forever I will be seeking you
Can't wait when this series is finished and you release a complete version that's like 3 hours long.
I heard ten seconds and liked already ;) the epic you have managed to create is fit for a book or a mythology
Yeah baby! Thats what i've been waiting for, thats what its all about!
A thousand times yes! This is such an amazing surprise!
This might be one of your best works yet. Amazing
Beautiful songs! Can’t wait for the next :)
Finally! That was amazing! Can't wait for the next part to come out!
NINE MINUTES LESGO!
Edit: I think this is the first time I've been this early on a CPD video
new Negankerdak dropped bois
lore time
An epic tale that couldn't have been delivered in a more beautiful way. Great work!
I wasn't sure what to expect with this song, but I never expected it to be such an epic banger. That's on me; I should have seen it coming. Like, duh, it's Clamavi De Profundis. Of course, it's going to be epic. You guys did a fantastic job on this song and I'd love to learn more about this world you guys created.
LETS GOO BABY
Im literally in class right now
The saga continues! We lost our brave dwarf mMordaar, but he will forever be immortalized in this chronicle, and live on in our hearts.
NEW BLACK DIAMOND SAGA LETS GOOOOOOO
Really like the Negankerdak story!
Also could you please do the hobbit song “Ho ho ho to the bottle I go”?
I love this world you guys have made! I cant wait for the next part!
Amazing work as always :D
Dude oh my word I was tearing up
Perfect! End at lat, after all this time we can hear 3 part, i canot wait for the final one.
You guys get better every time I come back
Another banger in the Negankerdak saga! I have a question though, is the Seye’Lahn a weapon, a person, or other? The Vordan is described as bestowing it like a truth when it turned/possessed Arnen, and then later is described contesting Negankerdak in the duel. It sounds super weird and interesting lol, I was just curious
Another thing to note is the line "Now the ancient foe does Negankerdak wield"
The Seye’Lahn are a race, I think, and Arnen is an individual of that race. The "Golm Watcher" confuses the issue a bit, but as he's also described as a sentinel, I gather that he guarded the Golm Mountains.
They're a people, since in the opening text is attributed to a king of the Seye'Lahn.
@@xenn4985 I think that one simply inverts "the ancient foe does wield Negankerdak"
@@samuelnicholes could be, or it could be more. I mean at the ebd of every song the sword sings that it is searching for someone.
The long wait is over!
I thought then I saw the pinned comment and realized were in for a 4 parter!
Ah well it still sounds awesome and we have more material to listen too!
my week is made
I hope they chose to write a book about this world, I think it could be one of the best fantasy literary works/worlds since Tolkien. Maybe in form of a long epic poem instead, like this but even more expansive in terms of characters and world details.
In a cavern far away, a dwarven woman prepares a meal for her child wondering when her husband Mordaar will return?
Finally! We are graced by the guardian of negankerdak!
been waiting for the next part of the story for hot minute
Je suis Français mais j adore vos musique !!!
Wow! Can't wait for the next one!
Awesome! can't wait for the finale!
I am so hyped for this.
Amazing as always.
Excellent as always
Yessss YESSSSSSSS
Ok just a theory what if the Dimond that was drove into the first born of fire skull
Was the sword
We need a lotr tour id say yall could even pair with cirque di sole
The plot thickens, interesting... type o7 to honor the poor Mordaar fallen in the line of duty
that is good song
Man, i sure do hope my boys the Dwarves find Negankerdak in the next part.
Very well done.
That right there was a violation personally I wouldn't have it
the saga continues!
also, not the Mordaar :( humble and true
Finally! The next part is in~
Nooooo! Little dwarf dude :((
More Negankerdak!
Thank you! 🥰😎🥳😁
What a sword!
Excellent
How did i miss this yesterday! I've been waiting for this! Also, the "forever i will be searching for you" line has previously been looking like it might have been sung by Negankerdak, but in this it was done in Treal's colors, is that forshadowing?
wow I have never heard of the "Legend of Negankerdak" the song got me researching this Legend!
CalmaviDeProFundis continue your craft!! Cant wait for the next song
Hoping its Lord of the Rings/Silmarillion One
Honey, look! New Negankerdak lore just dropped! 👀
I wonder how THIS comes to a head?
Ещё полгодика до конца этой саги, я буду ждать с нетерпением
Хоть один коммент на русском)
Mordaar! Nooooooooooo!
I feel sorry for Mordaar.
The idea of an earth-wrought sword is so... original. Love it!
(Sorry, it was at eleventy-one comments and I think I just ruined it.)
R.I.P Mordaar :'(
a modern day bard :D
May Durin watch over him
After replaying this many times I have realised that the 'stone' in Treal's prophecy most likely refers to the world stone, as this is in the same world as Hammerdeep I believe. Which leaves the question why is the centre of the world awakening?
It's not hammer deep, they said it.
YES! YES! YES! YES!
GOD BLESS!!!!!!
edit: NO! NO! NO! NO!
GOD NO!!!!!!!
What is a Seye'Lahn anyway?
A race who were "cursed" by the vordan, that's literally all we know.
