Fantastic vidio, great van, keep the good work going and enjoy every minute
🙋🏻♂️new subscriber here! Really enjoying your content! It’s very relaxing and I like the little history lessons. Watching this has made me realise I need to get out with nature some more!! great work guys ❤
@@Liamf986 welcome to our channel. Thanks for watching and subscribing 🙂👍
Love you Ken and Carol 🫶 been watching your videos for years, I was brought up by my grandparents and always feel the safest with them even now as an adult, you two remind me of them and give me the same feeling watching you. I even watch you at night to fall asleep too as I find your videos so relaxing 🥰 take care and safe travels ❤
Well if we remind you of them then that is great with us. 👍❤️
They are such a chilled couple…
I watch you a lot so I’d notice if RUclips unsubscribed me. I enjoy your videos. I’ve been trying to figure out why I love some videos more than others. It’s possible some people make you feel included in the adventure. It’s a generous spirit that some people have.
We watch lots of youtube. We like people who are themselves, no false excitement, keep the story rolling, have reasonable sound, take care with the filming and are likeable 😁👍
The bike is always there and has been there many years, it acts as an advert for 'The Rusty Bike' cafe which is just downhill from the car park you were in, in Swainby village. It's worth a visit if you're in the area and want a good cafe with lovely views.
Thanks for that information. I was worried someone might have come to harm and I had not raised the alarm. 👍
Love your videos, so relaxing and calm, you are such a lovely couple.
Well said yes they are so relaxing to watch
Thank you so much!
I must say, you two are looking so much happier and rested in your new van. It looks like you are having a wonderful time of it!
It could be the novelty factor but time will tell 😁👍
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks so much. Have a wonderful evening.
Thank you! You too!
Snoopy is a champion. 💪 I love that your stops are luxurious in Snoopy too 🌄
Ahhhhhhh, to see you two in comfort and coziness. I’m sure you are getting used to it by now. But each week it is brand new to me all over again. Safe and happy travels 👍
Thanks 🙂
I am an American who has never visited Britain, but I had a mental image of what Britain is like. The reality is stunningly different! I had no idea that there is so much open space.
If you can find the open spaces away from the crowds and traffic it is a beautiful place 🙂
Lovely to see you settled into life with snoopy ❤ great common sense driving hints thank you & great ideas for places to visit
Safe travels ❤
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching 🙂
You two are like good friends to me. I have been a subscriber for a long time now. Nice to see you are getting on well with Snoopy. All relationships take time to establish. Much love and thanks for all you share so generously. Jo x
That is a lovely comment. ❤️❤️
Great video. Loved the Castle. I always try to imagine when I visit these kind of places how people used to live. Were they content or was there life very hard. History is fascinating. Thank you for taking us along and stay safe and cosy😊
I’m sure their life was hard but they probably didn’t know any different. Thanks for watching 🙂
50+ years ago my parents used to pull there big heavy caravan up Sutton bank used to freak me out I was convinced we would end up rolling backwards never happened lol.
We only discovered your channel yesterday and are having a lovely time catching up with your new van and travels. A bit out of order but that's fine with us. Very calming content suitable for us (80 and 77 and caravanners). Best wishes from Australia.
Welcome aboard!
Loving watching your adventures in the new van.
Thanks for taking us around on your prowl through Yorkshire. Y'all make it look so easy in your new campervan.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I am watching this on Thursday 28 March at 18:05 on the south side of Milton Keynes and i have my headphones on and outside there is a storm going full on.
😁👍
Enjoyed watching this video. My husband asked “have they got their new van yet?” I showed him. Happy travels.
Thanks for showing him 🤗
I used to come down Sutton Bank nearly every week when I was at catering college in Scarborough. My friends mum owned The Black Bull in Reeth and we worked there weekends and holidays, lovely memories, thankyou 😊
I bet you got used to the steep descent! Thanks for watching 🙂
I didn’t realize you had named the van until this video. Snoopy is the perfect name. Looking forward to your upcoming journeys. Safe travels. Cheers
Thanks Beth 🙂
So glad for you two, this camper van fits your personalities to a T. If you know what I mean, I suppose that is American definition for you look good in the new van
WE are so spoiled in northeastern Alberta Canada..
All the same open spaces on our own property..
And a 30 minute drive puts us in absolutely remote space..
But alas we have no castles.
Hahaha
I think I would opt for the wide open spaces. The UK has too many people 😁👍
I think it's more amazing -if- the windows survived. Could be the heritage setting example though. Try Sandsend, over the bridge on Easington side, turn immediately left. A couple miles in and there's an Elizabethan castle on game land (Saturdays only I presume, definitely open set days). One of the most romantic castles apparently, 1400's if I remember right. Musgrave castle :) parking available, lots of land to walk
Thanks for the tips 👍
Love your videos. Watching from Texas. 💖
Thanks for watching 👍
REALLY Fresh milk from the feral cows delivered to your door. Offer them Polo Mints. ( it works on my friends herd… I use them to entice the boss cow when I bring them to be milked. ( they also love apple and weetabix!)
Don’t think we’d know how to milk one 😂
The walled garden at Helmsley is well worth a visit next time. Agree that scones ( or pastries) should never be microwaved
Proud of you both eating well, it's hard but so worth it for the energy.❤
Ken, would love to see you do a training video on driving a small camper - always love your driving pointers!
I will give it some thought 👍
Lovely park up that one. Hadn't realised just how wild it was. Not the usual type of reservoir car park. Beautiful. Thanks for taking us along with you 😊🐕🚙
Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, a great little park up. We had a very peaceful night there. Thanks for watching 🙂
I enjoy seeing these places and your adventures. Thank you
Ken & Carol love watching all your videos,, may you both are bless in health❤
Thank you, you too 🙂
Nice to see you on your travels again. Snoopy seems quite comfy and you've got a room with a view, perfect.❤👌👋☺️
Birk brow is easy for locals, though my Scottish ex always screamed to slow drastically down it while she went 50mph :s always a big backseat driver haha. Watch out for Charltons junctions :) avoid the stove place by waterfall kennels because of who owns it, be wary of dodgy secret traffic monitors on yearly hill :) good place to park is Danby beacon, foundation of the original flying dales base during the war :)
Thanks for letting us know. Good to have the local info 🙂👍
The howling wind, through that castle was quite eerie!
Thank you Carol and Ken for your wonderful videos. As I travel with you along those roads I am reminded of my travels with my husband John as we visited England and Wales for 7 months in 2018 in a camper Van purchased for that purpose. Our big ‘Overseas Experience’ in our Retirement Years. Wonderful memories!
Good to have you riding along with us Valerie. 7 months ! What a trip that was ❤️
Just caught up with u after a long time..nice van..it looks better u can stand up in it,
Thanks for watching. We are loving the extra space in the new van 🙂
Cozy van, fine scenery, lovely (and healthy!) food and a fab sunset. Doesn’t get much better. Glad you sorted out your electrics. You can wild camp without worry now. Take care x
Fingers crossed 😁👍
Hi Carol and Ken Great video never so many smiles must be Snoopy. In the previous video, Ken, when you were pacing in the van it appeared that you were "back on the beat"!. Once done done never forgotten. Kind Regards Crawford from a very rainy seaside.
Yes whenever I am waiting for Carol outside a shop it always brings back memories of patrolling the high street and watching the world go by. We had time to do that back then. Mobile phones were not even a glint in someones eye 😁👍
Thanks for another terrific tour! I live in California, on the West Coast of the USA so it's always a delight to watch your videos. 🙂
Thanks Chris. Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Snoopy the new van is marvelous, so roomy looking and comfortable. BTW Carol, I thought the dill sauce looked delicious!
Thanks Jay. I thought it tasted delicious (Carol) 😁
You mentioned a better reel for your EHU cable but not what it was! I am looking for one.
I’m still subscribed! No problem there. Snoopy came through with flying colors! A lovely time with lovely people. Mary
Cheers Mary ❤️
Just being able to stand is so wonderful.
Really enjoyed watching, hope you enjoyed visiting. All the places you visited are mostly just over an hours drive from us. Feel so lucky living in this part of the country 😊
There were so many places we wanted to visit but didn’t have time. We will definitely be coming back to Yorkshire ❤️
It was wonderful to eat my dinner while watching your video. Am enjoying watching you get settled into Snoopy.
It would be even better if I was eating your dinner whilst you watched it 😁👍
Nice to see you both so happy and enjoying Snoopy. Great park up you found.
Brilliant. More adventures to be had.
Thank you for taking me for another drive.
You’re welcome 🙂
Very interesting and calming. Love it!
Excellent video as always … thank you x
I love that you have expanded cheers
Much love, Carol & Ken 🤍🤍
Fully agree. A relaxing experience watching your videos ❤
Ken,im very surprised a nice big RV like that doesn't have an on-board generator as mostvRvs here in the U.S.do along with a roof top air-conditioner to stay cool in the Summer.......
Our van is tiny in comparison to US rigs. We can fit aircon if we want it and I do own a petrol generator but I wouldn’t take it with me. We did use it in Iceland when we took our caravan there 👍
Another great video. Look forward to watching your travels ❤❤❤
Great to see you both enjoying the new van, great video thanks for sharing 😊
Thank you for your very enjoyable video. You both have a wonderfully calming and positive vibe and your videos are full of practical advice and interesting anecdotes. We were relieved when Snoopy conquered the incline up Sutton's Bank. Helmsley Castle was very impressive indeed.
Cheers!
Thanks for the feedback ❤️
Lovely relaxing video. Snoopy is doing so well, you all look really cosy. Can't wait to explore Yorkshire. No way to microwaving a cheese scone, should have been gently warmed in the oven. Glad you sorted out the loss of charge, every day is a learning opportunity, no harm done. Have a great weekend, nearly Easter 🐰 xx
Morning to you both.
Thanks again for a beautiful video,They are always so relaxing and enjoyable.
Take care lots of love you both
Good morning!
Shrinkflation Ken, re Carol’s doughnut! Lovely Ozzie pic too, made me remember those hilarious nets, but you wouldn’t want to be without one. Great video. X
Yes those nets were a blessing. Shrinkflation hits the nail on the head 👍
Looking good guys, love the new van, seems to be treating you well! Hope you have many great adventures in it.
Carol is so organised ! Easy done to leave the heaters on. Still seems strange seeing out out of little Red. Lovely vid guys. Thank you. 🙏 🧙♂️🚐
I was so embarrassed when I realised what it was. The light is out of sight from the rear lounge but it should have been the first thing I checked. 🙄😁👍
This tour brought back so many happy memories for me we spent many holidays near Helmsley in a log cabin with super walks around Sutton bank your commentating makes me chuckle. So pleased you are both enjoying the van it’s looks lovely.Happy travels xx
Glad you enjoyed it 😀
Loving your new adventures in your new van. I tried to keep a log of our travels but when everything is left to one person, the driver, it gets forgotten about in the arrival / departure process. You two work well together with the same goals to produce a quality vlog for the channel.
Carol is fantastic at keeping a log and also running the admin of the channel whilst I do the editing 👍
Some lovely vistas and surroundings, always look forward to the new video. Thank you for taking us along!!
Our pleasure! Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Really surprised. Normally water tank frost preventing heaters have thermostats so that only turn on below a certain - temperature. Also heat applied depends of amount of liquid in tank. So I am puzzled. Was it that cold they switched on. The main switch you switched on by accident is surely just isolation. So if you forget to switch it on in winter tanks freeze. Surely not. George
I don’t know George. I will ask I thought it was a simple on and off.
@@LifeistooshortCK Surely it's common sense it works that way. If it doesn't what's the point of a manual system. You wouldn't expect your house central heating to not have a thermostat. George
Lovely video guys ,thank you for sharing ...that sure was a step climb.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Braver than me driving up Sutton Bank in a manual van! Well done Snoopy!
We made it, no trouble 👍🙂
Wow that castle is surely crumbling inside. Glad to see the van made its maiden big hill.
Cheers Larry 🙂
Hari OM
Well done Snoopy (and Ken, for the steering bit...) that was quite a climb. Worth it though - that castle is lovely. I think you are all settling into together just fine... YAM xx
Thanks YAM 🙂
Really enjoyed this tour thank you for taking us
Thanks for watching 🙂
Great video and a lovely looking van, health to enjoy 👍
Another great show of you adventures, thank you.
Thanks for watching 🙂
Another great video ,thank you both
Thanks for watching 🙂
I love the music, it suits your adventures.
The way my life is carol and ken l need to keep a log of every minute of every day 😂 great video .
Ha. Sounds like us 😀👍
Lovely video Ken and Carol. Also great to see old places i used to viisit.
Sutton Bank is a bit scary at first to go up, been up and down it many a time.
They even close it when the snow comes or bad weather so it was nice to see it open.
Loving having you back, especially in Snoopy.😊
Wouldn’t want to try it in snow unless there was no other traffic 😁👍
Watch all all the time but mainly on the TV from my hubby Leon's mobile but just wanted to say I have checked and happy to say I haven't been unsubscribed. Thank you for taking us with you today. I loved looking around the area with you; the castle is lovely. We will certainly go there on our next journey out in our little Vauxhall Vivaro campervan. You two are great to watch. Thank you lovelies.
Thanks for watching and checking your subscription, much appreciated. Enjoy your travels in your campervan 🙂
Enjoyed viewing thanks, hope you are both doing well, Paul.
We are good Paul. Hope you are too👍
We found Helmsley last year on a day out, its our new place to go to. Only an hour from where we live in Bradford.
Hope you have had a nice time in the area I live (Whitby)
We loved it 🙂👍
@LifeistooshortCK yes followed you both for a while now, enjoy your trips near & far,
We also own a ford based motorhome.
@@stevenflight2662 thanks for watching and enjoy your travels 🙂
I enjoyed it very much 😊
First time I have seen you in the new van. I loved the little Red, but was too much of a chore especially given your time-of-life. The new van seems to offer you all the 'comforts' you can expect in a van. I look forward to following your travels - thank you both😊
Thanks for watching. We are finding the new van to be very comfortable and look forward to doing some longer trips 🙂
HI Ken & Carol been up sutton bank when on the lorry 8 wheel tipper Volvo in it 450 hp like you say got know what are doing anyway nice video as alway's.
Right on 👍
Great job
Love watching your videos.
Nice to see you in gods own county Yorkshire my home turf and absolutley beautiful hope you found a huge welcome and come back soon ❤
We had a great time 👍
So enjoy your videos - each one is a special treat! The salmon dinner looked amazing.
Thank you 🙂
Another great video 😊
I am quite a new subscriber but have been going through your videos and really enjoying them, thank you for all the time and effort you put into them. My partner and I have been looking into a motorhome and keep coming back to Consort, so I will be really interested in watching your adventures in Snoopy. You were in my neck of the woods in this video too, it was lovely to see that sunset over the moors. Enjoy your travels! 😀
Well we will be using our Consort a lot so we will all see how it performs 👍
These things happen but at least the batteries were still alive, just about. A very lovely park up and you both look so comfortable in your new van. We get up a 25 gradient but I certainly wouldn't get up one in my little Talbot! Helmsley was so busy when we went but it was August a couple of years ago, and that's when you could overnight. Such a shame you can't anymore.
Yes just imagine if I had killed them on the first trip 🫣. It’s amazing how watching all the vanlife channels teaches us about the country. We remember your video and many other places you have been. 👍
Remember to always check your batteries Ken and remember not to leave the heater on for too long I recommend getting a vertical wind turbine to help if you don’t have enough sun a vertical wind turbine is not that expensive and it is easier to use and it doesn’t matter what the wind is like it is better than a horizontal blade turbine less noisy but it most certainly recharges the batteries to keep you going
Interesting about the wind turbine. I think we will have plenty of power if I don’t make silly mistakes. 👍
Another enjoyable video. Looking forward to seeing the 'better' cable holder
Well anyone who wants one can see what I went for in the link to our Amazon shop. It will take quite a while to appear on film 😁👍
For the power switch with the high load, they sell waterproof silicone covers for switches that are self adhesive. The silicone is quite firm so as an added bonus, prevents some accidental switching.
Good tip. I do need better protection for it 👍
As always a very entertaining vlog.
Hi, I've just double checked and yes I'm still subscribed..
Keep up all the good work ,I enjoy watching you 2...
Thanks for subbing!
I would say that the worst bank in the NE of England is Rosedale chimney. When the kellogs tour of Britain cycle race went up it many years ago, about 1/3 rd of them had to get off and walk. In those days cycle gear ratios didn't include the massive rear wheel dinner plates that they have now.
Listening to you talk about Dill, it reminded me of Dill the dog on the Herbs children's channel i used to watch from about 1968, produced by Michael Bond
.🎼
" I'm Dill the dog,
I'm a dog called Dill,
Though my tail I'd love to catch,
I haven't caught it yet "
Don’t think we have been to that hill. We used to go to Ditchling Beacon and watch the London to Brighton cycle race. Plenty pushing bikes on that one 😁👍
I laughed when you said the hill lulls you and then smacks you in the gob. I've experienced conditions like that(so have we all)and it certainly resets the attention span!!
As for hill starts I learnt to drive in Nottinghamshire (taught by an ex-policeman) and on one of my lessons I did a hill start that felt like I was at a 45 degree angle and was told if I could do one there I could do it anywhere(goodness I'm quoting the song New York, New York).
Enjoyed this video see you on the next.Safe travels.
My police driving instructor made us by cakes for the whole car (4) if we rolled backwards 😁👍
Another ace video guys 👍
