For some reason I really like the videos where you do a voice over (like your old ones and your last one) instead of talking while you're cooking. Maybe if you want to switch up your channel a bit you could try a few different series' like kitchen tips/hacks, food photography, kitchen organization, your favorite gadgets, etc. I still love your channel!
Anu Sreedhara Really? Wow. I didn’t know, smartass. Setting as in, it looks different. Setting also referring to the change in how he filmed compared to his old videos. Nice try though.
People are difficult at times. If he doesn't change it up then you would hear "oh he needs to change it up a lil" and when it does happen"oh why did you change things, I love the old way better". Learn to appreciate people's change and admire and test the recipes more. Wonderful recipe and content, as always.
I really really like this style of you talking while cooking, opposed to to voice overs ( even tho those are great too) I’ve been a fan of your videos for YEARS and you’ve never once gotten boring or repetitive with your content! You and Rachel have such inspiring channels!! Thank you for amazing content!
I enjoy both the old and this new style of shooting. I don't mind some of the instability and focusing issues with the footage...it's imperfect in a good way. There are a few parts where a gimbal might have been handy, but overall pretty sweet. Nice job man.
Please go back to the old editing way. :( I feel like it was more organize than this, (tho this way it's cool too) but it was hard for me to understand what you were doing, I'm just here for the guava froyo cause I have some in my fridge right now haha. But I love that you're doing recipes with tropical fruits! I did the passion fruit cheesecake I few days ago and it was delicious! We even use your recipe for a culinary project so thanks!
Love. Love. Love. Kinda disappointed that you didn't show the piping & the texture of the froyo when it came out of the freezer, but I STILL loved the video all in all.
*gets excited because they're using guayabas and guayabas are so colombian * *sees the guayabas being used while still green and compared to passionfruits * *gets out*
María Camila Serrano Melo como, guayabas coronillas? Dios, y con lo ricas que quedan todas las recetas dulces con guayabas comunes, y el colorido normal rosa de la guayaba, haría el plato mil veces más atractivo.
I was looking at Guava's today, but didn't know how to pick them out. What would I be looking for? Love this idea, looks delicious, and will have to try it out!
JinxedKaetzchen basically the same as any ripe fruit for the most part. If it’s mildly soft and lightly dents when pressed, it’s ready to go. The hard ones are apparently good when sliced up and mixed with lime, salt, and spicy red pepper!
I think this is a much better balance between your previous video style and the newer one you've recently been using. The same issue still has been the audio. You often trail off when speaking and it comes across very poorly because at times you have music also playing that overlaps when you're speaking. Great video/recipe, thanks for sharing!
Ice cream machines are expensive. You can set your froyo in a freezer/piping bag by smooshing/mixing it in the bag every 10 or so minutes while it comes down to 0 in the freezer. Consistency isn't perfect unless you're really thorough, but it beats spending hundreds on an ice cream machine you'll use maybe a dozen times if you're lucky.
I actually used your advice! Though the piping bag didn't really work for me, so I ended up doing in a bowl. Didn't turned out that smooth but still good
I love that you use guayabas for your desserts, its not something you see everyday at every cooking channel.I think guayabas are delicious but they’re not that common Also can you make a dessert with involving papaya? Great video
Curious if Rachel was filming. You’re usually so business, but your little smirks and kitchen banter were a fun addition to the video 😉 awesome recipe!
Byron, nice job on this! I feel like this is a live stream the way you talk, very cool. Feels like we are right there with you. Really enjoying the new style of videos. ~Chef Chris!
i like this way of video editing, it’s more relaxed, more how home cooking really is :) must also be more fun and natural to film this way ! keep up the good work youre awesome
This style feels more personal in my opinion but I like both the old and new! I appreciate you trying new ways of making content. Love it and love the recipe!
Hey Byron :). I've been following your channel for years now! So thanks for everything! I like your new style! You get more of a "cooking experience" that way. However I also really like your old style. And the commentary makes it a bit easier to follow. If you found a mix it would be perfect.
Camera tip, have whoever's filming film on a lower aperture (f/5.6-f.8) that way you won't be drifting out of focus all the time. The higher the aperture (f/2.8-f/5.6) the smaller the focus window, the more likely you'll be going in and out of focus, even if you move just an inch or so within the frame. That might address all the focus-drifting complaints you're getting
He is trying different things each video, just give it time, let him try new things. He has a ton of subscribers but viewership has been pretty low so its only natural that something needs to change.
You guys! I dont think the camera work is bad at all, looks nice. I think the problem is the editing, the mixing of all the scenes that are not still may be what throws you off. Specially if you're a visual learner (like I myself got lost) but if these vids aren't for learning they are definitely beautiful to just watch.
Hi,this is lovely recipe thank you for sharing... My son is 3 years ago old and am looking for some healthy oatbar option for him.i did try few from RUclips but he didn't like, could you please share few recipe video kids friendly? We are vegetarian and don't eat egg aswell... So please please share some easy on go kids vegetarian recipe option... Thank you.... 😍
Hey! I was just wondering if you could plzzzz use the more calmed music you used to use before .plz I would reallu appreciate it thank you! God Bless You! :)
Those weren't pink either. I'm pretty sure those guavas are the kind that we have here in México. They are yellow on the outside and kinda white yellow-y on the inside
Hi Byron, This dessert looks amazing! Two questions: 1) what is the brown sauce that you added to the guava slices used for topping. It looked liked vanilla but I could not hear clearly what you said it was. 2) What is the rack that you put the cones in to hold while filling with the frozen yogurt? Can you provide a link? Thanks. I'm not decided how well I like the new format because I can't hear clearly everything that you're saying. A little frustrating when you're trying to learn how to make a recipe.
Painting the cones with that much melted butter has now made me wonder about butter-flavoured icecream.... and I think it'd probably actually be pretty good.
Both styles look good maybe in the more relaxed one try to have the camera guy show things from a more optimal standpoint. Less shake ups so the footage doesnt get as blurry .
Byron, I love you and I tried to copy this recipe. I ended up burning the butter and then spilled the yeast, I think I should be YouTubing “how to pour” and “how to not burn butter” 😂
you cannot tell the difference between the smell of guava and passion fruit? Dude they are both quite distinct. Maybe you're not used to one of them or it's not as common in your area?? Anyway. I thought this video was awesome. great, simple recipe
I live in Colombia and the guava we have here is also green on the outside a d pink on the inside, howevee there is a less frecuent variete that looks like the one he is using, we call it "guayaba agria" or sour guava...
i think i like the new video format instead of the voiceovers, but the filming definitely needs some work. either way, the increase in the number of uploads is great :)
Better than the previous video. Coz last time you sound like you were talking to yourself. At least here, you are more engaged with the viewers/camera.
It's way too watery. You could puree them (just a bit) and then drain the guavas so you won't get the seed. That's what I did because I felt I needed more flavor. I also used the already drained yoghurt and drain them again with the puree so I would get all the flavor out. It was pretty delicious!
I love how passionate you are for your craft and I can tell that by actually looking at you. The way you cook the way your focused on preparing the food to perfection but this video has one major flaw... there is no connection! You need to look and smile at the camera and keep the audience engaged people are not going to like this new style cause it feels dead sad somber even when you looked at the camera you didn't crack even crack a smile once while you were cooking. You need to take less shots of cooking the food and more shots of yourself, tell a story why did you want to make this dish did you have a memory while you were cooking this dish or is it simply a food experiment we need to know and understand these things! The key to making videos like these is engaging the audience I have to connect with you while I salivate at the food you make and I didn't feel any connection and I am pretty certain that there were people who watched this video who felt the same way. I can honestly see you on food network oneday having your own cooking show but, in order for that to happen you need to show a bit of personality otherwise like I stated previously people will change the channel or in this case watch a different video. In terms of food and teaching people how to cook you did outstanding in terms of connecting with your audience you did horrible there is nothing that is telling me that I should keep on watching this video. I am not trying to bash you in anyway, shape, or form I just like to give a constructive amount of criticism that I feel as if will help you in the long run. COOK WELL BE GREAT!!!

I really like the setting.

Looks delicious! Great video, calm and delicious 😊
This video was uploaded 4 minutes ago. It lasts 12 minutes. Already people are commenting about how great the video is. How? 😂
great video
Elza van Delft did you see the first 15 secs? 🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦🍦
ByronTalbott I did, fair point!! :D
Different time zone possibly?
Elza van Delft Q
Lpplpppppph
Really enjoying this more relaxed and chill version of Byron...
So beautiful this new laidback style of yours!!!
i liked the way you did your old videos better but thank you for this tutorial!!
Oh, my word. 🤤🍦
Please go back to the old editing way. :( I feel like it was more organize than this, (tho this way it's cool too) but it was hard for me to understand what you were doing, I'm just here for the guava froyo cause I have some in my fridge right now haha.

Loving the new video style!!! Very detailed and interesting to watch, well done 👍🏻
I adore your videos! They're so soothing, and this froyo is amazing!!! Keep up the awesome work! Love from Mexico! ❤
everything is amazing .. the person who is filming you cook is amazing I JUST LOVE EVERY THING in the video .. keep going ..
Guavas are my childhood, this looks so amazing! 😍
I’d like to try to do this but...I’m too lazy.Btw it looks beautiful I wish I could taste it.
This looks so good!! I also like the new style. Keep up the good work!!!
Absolutely love all the new thing!! 🤟🏼😊🤤..very chic the new videos!!
Looks so good, can’t wait to try it
You make the most delicious gourmet recipes I've ever seen! :)
so excited!!! Guava is super popular in the Hispanic/Latino community, especially where I am from (Puerto Rico)
Wila Broccoli yeah! Loving that he's doing tropical recipes 'cause it's what I have at hand, haha
whaaattt.. looks so beautiful and tasty too. I would try this recipe but with avocado or mango cream maybe because I don't really like guava
Love. Love. Love. Kinda disappointed that you didn't show the piping & the texture of the froyo when it came out of the freezer, but I STILL loved the video all in all.
*gets excited because they're using guayabas and guayabas are so colombian * *sees the guayabas being used while still green and compared to passionfruits * *gets out*

you?
BellRain Chan someone who can’t focus for sheet
Jack!

Timelady yeah you need to leave a bit of air in it so there's space for displacement. have done a similar thing at a Cafe I worked at :)
Really great recipe, I just wish your camera man could pick one focus and stick to it.
This shouldn't be like Shane Carruth cult film.
Oh, if I could only buy these! Looks delish!
Most accredited chef on RUclips. You can tell you went to culinary school knowing your cuts
I love that you use guayabas for your desserts, its not something you see everyday at every cooking channel.I think guayabas are delicious but they’re not that common
Also can you make a dessert with involving papaya? Great video
Mmm... Looks like ice-cream!! Taste so delicious and yummy!! Perfect dish!!! Enjoy your meal and see u anytime!!
I grew up eating Guava and I know I would love this! Tfs.
Delish!!!! I feel yeast is hard to master because you have two be precise but I really want to try this!!!!
I loved this! The video was so mesmerizing and great!
More desserts, please!
Byron talbott that is so cool on how u made the dough into cones, theyre like little christmas trees.
I'm amazed at how simple the froyo recipe is! Have you tried the same method with other fruits or flavors?
Whatever his filming style is, all I know is that what he cooks always looks delicious ! 👏🏼 ... when are you taking the viewers back to The Shack ?
Amazing cooking.you are such a creative person
i like this way of video editing, it’s more relaxed, more how home cooking really is :) must also be more fun and natural to film this way ! keep up the good work youre awesome
This style feels more personal in my opinion but I like both the old and new! I appreciate you trying new ways of making content. Love it and love the recipe!
And I love all your videos. I have tried several recipes and they are divine!
A B so awesome to hear that! Thank you!!
Clare Bear
I like this new style of videography, although I also liked the other one. Very good!!
You are too handsome 😍
Love the simplistic style of editing btw ...its so much more realistic
Hey Byron :). I've been following your channel for years now! So thanks for everything!
I like your new style! You get more of a "cooking experience" that way.
However I also really like your old style. And the commentary makes it a bit easier to follow.
If you found a mix it would be perfect.
Wow. My mom would love this!
Those look delicious. My family and I are vegan because of some sensitivities. Do you have any out of the ordinary recipes to share?
Camera tip, have whoever's filming film on a lower aperture (f/5.6-f.8) that way you won't be drifting out of focus all the time. You're uploading more than once a month. Finally!
I liked the old way of editing the video more. This is just a load of "stabilization" in edit, the camera shakes are terible. Pls use your tripod
He is trying different things each video, just give it time, let him try new things. He has a ton of subscribers but viewership has been pretty low so its only natural that something needs to change.
I really like it. It kind of puts me in a trance the whole time.
Mabey the low view count has something to do with the recipes he makes. The camera work was fine as was.
lol mind your business and enjoy the authenticity goodness 😂
no
How did it go in the freezer thicker than it came out of the freezer?
Omg - these look amazing
This was awesome! Can't wait to do this for my girlfriend on our anniversary!
You guys! I dont think the camera work is bad at all, looks nice. I think the problem is the editing, the mixing of all the scenes that are not still may be what throws you off. This video is amazing with headphones.
When you put in the frozen youghurt 😛this is everything 🙌🏼
Hey! I was just wondering if you could plzzzz use the more calmed music you used to use before .plz I would reallu appreciate it thank you! God Bless You! :)
I've never seen pink guava in real life. I've only eaten the green and white ones and seen the pink ones in pictures and in this video.
Those weren't pink either. I'm pretty sure those guavas are the kind that we have here in México. They are yellow on the outside and kinda white yellow-y on the inside
For the pink ones you'll need to travel to Brazil! ;)
I would love to learn how to make a Black Forest Cake.
I LOVE this new style! This is hands down my favourite! Also the Chimney Cakes look insanely delicious!
This looks spectacular.
Dwayne Wladyka thank you!
Hi Byron,
This dessert looks amazing! Two questions: 1) what is the brown sauce that you added to the guava slices used for topping. Cat Colbert it’s vanilla paste and any ol’ cone rack will do. Here’s mine: Wilton 2105-4820 Cupcake Cone Baking Rack www.amazon.com/dp/B00QT6WTIA/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_Jf9HAbV54QPGN
Thanks. :)
Painting the cones with that much melted butter has now made me wonder about butter-flavoured icecream.... and I think it'd probably actually be pretty good.
Wow me encantan las guavas
Can you do some original cupcakes next?
It looks amazing!
Oliver has gotten great at camera work!
;)
Both styles look good maybe in the more relaxed one try to have the camera guy show things from a more optimal standpoint. Less shake ups so the footage doesnt get as blurry .
WHAT is the name of music that in background??
in ENGLAND we call these Cream/French Horns! :D
Byron, I love you and I tried to copy this recipe. I ended up burning the butter and then spilled the yeast, I think I should be YouTubing “how to pour” and “how to not burn butter” 😂
N p 😂😂
Thank you for sharing ly 😊
I'm definitely going to try this! ☺☺☺
Mouth watering.
Happy to see recipe :))
Wow looks good!
I LIKE THIS FILMING STYLE BETTER
Yum! Loooove when you post a new video!
you cannot tell the difference between the smell of guava and passion fruit?
Dude they are both quite distinct. Maybe you're not used to one of them or it's not as common in your area??
Anyway. I thought this video was awesome. great, simple recipe
Byron, why dont you try making an Indian Dessert. Maybe Gulab Jamuns or Rasmalai.
That isn’t the guava we have in Thailand. Our have green outside and the size is bigger
In my area they are pink on the inside and don’t really taste like lilikoi in my opinion.
I live in Colombia and the guava we have here is also green on the outside a d pink on the inside, howevee there is a less frecuent variete that looks like the one he is using, we call it "guayaba agria" or sour guava...
María Camila Serrano Melo yeah in thai land we also have pink guava but normally we eat white. The pink is used to make juice
I wonder if we could use the SEA guavas. Might have an intetedting taste.
Loved the new video style. It feels a lot more organic this way, to have you narrate what you do as you do it.
guova
i think i like the new video format instead of the voiceovers, but the filming definitely needs some work. either way, the increase in the number of uploads is great :)
Wow!
For a real culinary experience you guys should visit Hungary. We have ice cream filled chimney cakes too 😏
Milk mixture should be about 110°f for best results with yeast
David Robinson ? I'm sorry I dont speak moron
Better than the previous video. Coz last time you sound like you were talking to yourself. At least here, you are more engaged with the viewers/camera.
The camera shakes defenitely throw off a lot of people but i like the style of the commentary how you talk about your thinking process
Do you think guava juice could be used?
It's way too watery. You could puree them (just a bit) and then drain the guavas so you won't get the seed. That's what I did because I felt I needed more flavor. I also used the already drained yoghurt and drain them again with the puree so I would get all the flavor out. It was pretty delicious!

Besides being handsome i can see why your wife loves you what a cook....It really looks amazing great job..
chandra reed oh stop
I think i would have eaten all four!!!
Can't get over how delicious the chimney cakes look, this is a cool take on them! 😊
