In fact, this is not a correct comparison, if a person has ever heard an active and a passive pickup, he will never confuse their sound. True. I didn't have a guitar with EMG's at the time so I just chose the hottest pickups I had for comparison. But I liked the HB so much I ended up recently buying a PRS with EMG'S. It'd be interesting to try the comparison again between those two
