As a side note, you have my eternal gratitude for introducing me to the mmsys.cpl shortcut.
I have a sound card in my desktop PC, and because of some driver incompatibility, I have to disable and re-enable speaker playback every time I turn it on. I navigate to the Sound panel at least a dozen times a day and getting there directly is going to save me that little bit of frustration every day. Thank you!
WOW! Thank you SO so much! I've been dealing with this for weeks if not months. I thought that I did something to mess my speakers up. As careful as I try to be with food and water, I thought somehow I got a tiny bit of water in my speaker and damaged it, therefore the crackling. I followed your instructions and NO MORE CRACKLING!! I'm so happy! I thought I was gonna have to replace my speakers! Thank you!

@@Tricknology so there is a small problem with the way in your video. So after about a day or more of your pc being on sometimes it brings back that crackling sound but if that happens I found out I can just either shut down or restart my pic and that works.

The driver update made my laptop have no sound at all, however after searching for a driver online instead of selecting one on my pc, it worked again. And i fixed the crackling by just disabling enhancements. You made my problem even worse! However, you fixed it afterward, so you're ok my friend.

Update! The crackling is back. However it only starts after my pc has been on for a while. If i restart, it goes away, but eventually will start crackling again. I'm stumped...

Hi, when I click "let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer" the only option that shows up is realtek audio, so no high definition audio drive. What should I do?

i fixed my audio by going to the update troubleshoot and you get there by going to setting and pressing system then you scroll down for trouble shoot and then you press run update trouble shoot and my audio was fixed instantly

Sound driver issues can be tricky and stuff like that happens. The same thing happened to me. Here's how I fixed it. Go back to device manager, expand the sound, video, and game controllers, right click on the realtek(R) audio, and choose update driver again. Choose search automatically for drivers instead of the browsing option. Might work for you, might not. There are other fixes you can try, just type the issue into google and see what pops up. You got this!

The simple way to solve it just troubleshoot, if that's not working probably that's not a crackling problem or your speaker has damaged
