It is so wonderful to see the crowd still going so nuts for Billy and his music, after so many years - but heck, why wouldn't they? You can see that, by the end, he has given absolutely everything he has to give, to that show. What a night! You don't get a crowd into that kind of state without having given them one hell of a good ride - and had one yourself in return. God bless him and his band.
I don't know many performers who can literally just stop playing and have the crowd carry it! He's one of my first concerts, at Nassau Coliseum in the 80s. I'm fortunate enough to have seen him many times at MSG as well. Thanks for the video.
Almost all artists voices mature and lower as they age so instead of fighting to hit a higher key that you now have trouble reaching they lower it a half step or full step even. It still sounds great and if it helps extend their career and voice to be able to perform live then so be it. James Taylor and Elton John have done it with a lot of their songs and both still sound amazing as well.
Only one word needed.
And that word is unbelievable. Made me cry actually.

He's the best composer, singer/songwriter, and lyricist of the 20th century. Billy Joel will never be forgotten

Billy Joel deserves all the applause in the world! A timeless music phenomenon!
How very, very awesome. Genius at the top! How I love it.
I went all the way there from Japan only for this song and I was there on this day. It was absolutely the best moment in my life.
Came all the way from Berlin, he did not disappoint although I missed Miami 2017… last time I saw him in MSG was in 1993!
I was there. What an amazing show. Still going strong at 73. Wow

It’s not in C major like in the CD, he’s singing in a different major
I wonder why the artists don’t always sing in the same majors as the cds
@@slapshot68 Voices change with age. He wrote the song in his early 20's. He may not be able to hit the original high notes anymore.
