Simply the best all-around female vocalist ever . . . plus opera!

Somehow, I “missed” Jennifer in her prime-in fact, I only discovered her 1 year ago. I am a big fan of Celine and only discovered Jennifer because I came across Celine’s cover of Power of Love including Jennifer.
    I couldn’t believe my ears.
I’m 86 and have heard them all, from Ginger Rogers to Edith Piaf to Vera Lynn. Then Diana Ross, Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Barbara Streisand, Dusty Springfield, Tammy Wynette, and Bonnie Tyler. Add Gloria Gaynor, Roberta Flack, Connie Francis, Laura Branigan, Linda Ronstadt, Rita Coolidge, Celine, Mariah, and Whitney and you have the lineup of the greats right up to Adele and Susan Boyle.
But Jennifer Rush has the all-around best female voice I have ever heard. Her operatic training adds an unmatched vibrato containing depth and texture. I
t seems a lot of listeners don’t like vibrato, despite the following fact: “A crucial element in Elvis' sonic signature was his use of vibrato.”
Jennifer sings everything: opera, pop, rock, and ballads in English, Spanish, German, and Hungarian.
She also studied piano and violin at Juilliard. She has written or co-written the lyrics and music for many of her songs, done duets with Placido Domingo and Jose Carreras, Elton John, and Brian May-sorry-Sir Brian May, Michael Bolton, and performed live all over the world-but not in America, except in March and April 1986 on the Carson show and the Dick Clark Show; that’s it.
Why is she the best? Effortless high range: (look at Celine’s cover with Jennifer singing “Power of Love” to see the ease with which Jennifer handles the highest notes.) Listen to “Who Wants to Live Forever” (with or without Brian-Sir Brian-May) as well as “Stronghold”, “Another Way”, “Hero of a Fool”, “I come Undone”, “Now That It’s Over”, and many more.
With her operatic training (her father, Maurice Stern (Mauro Lampi) and step-mother Rita Loving), she developed a superior vibrato, appropriate body language, and perfect interpretation, and because she wrote or co-wrote most of her songs, she injects them with a personal load of musical endorphins that hit your ears and your heart at the same time.
Yes. If Jennifer had decided to live her life in the US, she would still be in Las Vegas or on tour.

I think, that Saraya is the best

It's okay. Nowhere as good as the original. Too much vibrato in her voice and the vibrato is really too tight for a ballad like this. She has a stronger voice than Sandi Saraya. But the struggle in the higher registers that Sandi had added an emotion to the song this one lacks. This sounds more like an American Idol audition than a woman singing her heart out about a lover.

@ChowYunFatty: From my point of view, the version of Saraya is very good. But nobody can sing as emotional and touching as Jennifer Rush. There certainly can't be different opinions about the superior quality of Jenifer's voice.

@@aquila_oculus520 As I said, she's a better singer but like Whitney and Mariah, a higher level of talent doesn't mean it's better.. Harry Nillsons version of Without You is a million times better than Mariahs, even though Mariah is a far more talented singer. It lacks emotional punch, just like this version does.

@@ChowYunFattty I understand your point of view. But here we both obviously feel quite differently.
