I know you probably won't see this; but I watched an interview with Steve Harley and he said that he had recorded most of the songs from Phantom before he was ultimately replaced with Michael Crawford; and he said that he still has those recordings. Would there be any chance that those recordings could be released? I know that there are fans who would enjoy to hear those recordings.
I certainly hope that there’s a possibility of hearing those full recordings. I did hear a couple samples of Steve’s recording of “The Music of the Night,” but I would certainly be interested in hearing the full version.
That’s unlikely. He was never considered for the musical itself because it changed from this rock opera style and went in a different direction. Harley simply wouldn’t be appropriate for that music.
She’s so lovely 🥰 an angel’s voice! I was honored to hear her perform in Cleveland, Ohio years ago-she became even lovlier with some age.

I had an official video collection of Andrew Lloyd Webber musical highlights when I was a kid, and this was on it. I watched the videos so many times, and this brought back a lot of memories, I wish I could remember the other songs that were on it🥲 It was a lot of the original actors (mostly Sarah Brightman, lol) basically doing music videos of the songs

Once Charles Hart joined the team, he altered the lyrics to the final version. Only this one verse was left completely intact:
“Those who have seen your face draw back in fear.
I am the mask you wear. (It’s me they hear).
My (your) spirit and your (my) voice, in one combined.
The Phantom of the Opera is there inside your (my) mind.”

@@Nina-lp7kt Gerard is a legendary phantom! The Phantom was a broken, lonely, unhappy person, so Gerard sounded like a tormented man, and his emotions were best felt. It's amazing how he portrayed his character.

Steve Harley was the lead singer of the 1970s band Cockney Rebel. He decided to pursue a solo career in the 1980s, which caught the attention of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber.
