When NTE had the slow-mo moment at 15:44, I totally had a flashback to Blitz 2. Was expecting there to be a broken ankle or a shattered tibia animation.
I love that the stadium noise causes miscommunications on hot routes, you have to call the hot route again if the player does the "i can't hear you animation" or they will run the original route

Yesssss, if Nebraska can beat ol' Drewski then I can't wait to see what my Longhorns are gonna do to him! Limas Sweed, Vince Young, Jamal Charles, Quan Cosby, Selvin Young, Cedric and Michael Griffin, and Michael Huff. We were absolutely STACKED that year on both sides of the ball.
Sad part is that I felt pretty ballin when I played this game since I was driving a 2000 Grand Prix back in those days. Like every sensible 19 year old, my speakers cost the same as the car.
The reason why NCCA football 06 is better than 14 to me is based purely on the soundtrack. I loved sitting in the college dorm room listening to great songs from The Clash, Pixies, Ned's Atomic Dustbin, Lush, and Jawbreaker. The game legitimately had one of the most obscure yet eclectic soundtracks of any sports game of all time.
I may be delusional but I feel like this game runs and feels so much better than the newer maddens. I know this is NCAA but specifically the sideline work, down to the angle dives towards the pylons make this feel much better. I miss this game so much.
Fun fact: Nebraska won the alamo bowl this year 04-05 season Cory Ross is the RB and in 04 he ran for 1000+ yrds 05 season had 800+ #6 in rushin yrd in 04’

I find it so weird that the ncaa games weren’t the true priority like the nfl but they always had such better and fluid animations. Like even simple things like the qb actually looking at who their throwing at in the ps2 era was a problem for madden. Yet ncaa football had a closer animation style to the nfl 2k games. The kicker is they were always using the same engine between ncaa and madden idk just something that’s bothered me for a while
