@Phyllis Patterson All condolences to you & your family for your lamented loss. And 2) modesty forbids I should relate the torrent of invective that issued from These Lips on reading what vile insensitivity to which you were subjected by an individual that should have been kicked to the curb for it, a bad burn mark to the soul that you have ever recalled since. Be assured that person brought Karmageddon down on itself behind that, when/where completely untraceable but inevitable, disrespecting people so badly during this most life-changing of circumstances demands karmic justice. The eddies & currents of life's flow make it a lottery-style chance it would be a carbon-copy rerun of what you were so outrageously made to suffer, but as such it could be even worse; but whatever it is, whether or not awareness comes, it will comprise cosmic payback for that gross inhumanity. @ C. Daniels "Au contraire, mam'selle," we should hope that cow literally AIN'T proud of herself for that dismal performance. She don't deserve to have swung for it, but to change them ways, "most definitely" - this wasn't some run-of-the-mill scenario of finding a big glass window busted out. My heart pained for that poor caller - I once happened onto a triple-murder scene [in an appropriately crappy old Chrysler minivan] at home in Washington & the immediate horror of the driver, strapped in & still clutching the steering wheel, his front passenger slumped over in the other direction with her bloody head on that window & - oh god - the last victim lying beside the open side door in a failed escape attempt, stayed vivid for years. Recalling it even now after a long time, ooh that memory still ripples. And I just came across that nightmare, not been in the middle of what happened, but I was still "OMG!!!!!" city on the phone, scared also that WHATever did it might still be around while I was a standing duck relaying the information & get picked off myself. [Cue cold shudders] That operator was 180 from the one in this case, sure she was briskly professional but her way of talking - I would call it the SDS approach, for "slow down some [& tell me what's happened]" - actually helped calm my shocked crying & fear of what might lurk in the darkness [a little side-street intersection with lots of trees but precious little direct lighting; no movie could be as spooky as that reality]. They should be [re]trained to say that instead of CALM DOWN which conveys no such concern for someone in terrible distress. So no, instead this sow should have been *ashamed* of herself. And I'd have raked her over the coals for it; she'd have been lucky to keep her job. "Bad operator!"

Their job isn't to be your friend. They are there to get information to get you help to save your life. In a stressful situation like witnessing a couple murders you're going to be hysterical. They don't have time to baby you. They need to shock you into LISTENING and HEARING their questions. Would you rather they 'oh you poor dear do you need a hug' when someone is trying to murder you? Or do you want them to scream at you and shock you out of your hysteria so they can find out what help you need? By your reasoning they should just sit with you and sing kumbaya while you are being hacked to death.

The doc doesn't mention some things that made it so gruesome. Tim was also shot in the head from about 15 feet away with the .44 so one can only imagine. That lady on the phone is hysterical for very good reason. They pulled many bone fragments from each of their skulls out of the ceiling of the Diner and blood and brain matter were splattered throughout the restaurant, or a good part of it. It was so horrific of a scene that while most customers fled leaving all their belongings there was still many diners who were catatonic and unable to move. On the way out White also said, "Merry Christmas, mother fuckers." Another gery sad part that isnt mentioned is that Cara's Father was a Asst. State Attorney here in Des Moines at rhe State Attorney General's office who heard about the shooting on his radio and rushed to the scene. Though the police tried their best to keep him from seeing his daughter he pushed past them into the crime scene. Very sad. Its also thought that because of his pull the Feds had him put in the Florence Supermax. The new Drake University stadium was named after Cara McGrane to honor memory. Oh, another thing they don't mention, and get wrong, actually, is that when he approached Cara at the register she didn't say, "What are you doing," but apparently thought he was pranking her and she started laughing and being dismissive which, it's speculated, may well have been what set him off.

Because they are supposed to get as much information about what's happening in the fastest amount of time to help the police do their jobs. It is hard to do this when people are (naturally) freaking out and while you'd like for them to be Mother Theresa during a tragedy, they have to be very direct and to the point.

They almost surely needed it. The doc doesn't mention that Tim was also shot in the head from about 15 feet away with the .44 so one can only imagine. That lady on the phone is hysterical for very good reason. They pulled many bone fragments from each of their skulls out of the ceiling and blood and brain matter were splattered throughout the restaurant, or a good part of it. It was so horrific of a scene that while most customers fled leaving all their belongings there was still many diners who were catatonic and unable to move. On the way out White said, "Merry Christmas, mother fuckers."

Incompetent 911 operator.Just ask location and send immediately police there as it is v clear smth bad is happening and it is an emergency.
"Calm down" "What's going on" .....bla bla bla.
    Outraging.
After having sent the police to the address one can go on asking if it doesn't put the caller in danger or at least remain connected. But action comes first.
P.S. who would invite such individuals to a party ? And then ,having guns in the home and risking them been stolen but any dumbo that enters the place.
Unbelievable. There's a saying: " tell me who you are mingling with and I tell you who you are ".
The owners of the stolen gun have also some part of responsibility.

They simply don't care about people, they care about keeping the job and that's it. Should meet iowa state patrol if you think the dispatcher is bad. They are some of the meanest people I've ever met for simply going 5 over. Crazy how much power goes to your head, seems like it's mainly in Iowa with how shocked people act.
