    You can't believe how important this video is for me, I couldn't find any of this new Optoma GT2100HDR review, and was already planning to buy it anyway for the specs (4 of them for an installation). But now it's clear that it's not worth it at all, Epson is clearly a winner. Thank you a ton for your review and amazing comparison!!!

    Thanks for doing this comparison. I believe one big difference is the max width of an image. The Epson from what I see only goes roughly 10 feet wide. The Optoma goes roughly 35 feet wide. That's a big difference if you have a very wide home. Thanks again.

    • @fxprojections9769

      Thank you! So each projector was aligned and warped separate from one another within the software so it wasn't really an HDMI splitter but rather just turning them all on at once through madmapper at the end. Is that what you were asking?

      Sorry for the late response. Maybe i should have went into more detail. but each projector did cover the whole house.. but using the Madmapper software i was able to cut/mask off certain areas. So even though one might have showed only half a side and the other showing the other half, they were still fit to the whole house but just blocking off a portion. So each example (i did many that night) i would cut off a side to show the other next to it for comparison. So in one example the Epson might have been projecting on one side but in another it would be on the other side. Hopefully that makes sense the way i worded this.

      @@dodgeman577 interesting.. I'm assuming you've used the focus knob on top of the projector. They're does hit a point where if you are far enough back, certain projectors at certain distance can't focus that far out.. but that projector should be good at 60 feet. Are the projections blurry or just pixelated? It's expected being that far back for pixels to be almost the size of a finger nail.

    I read all the comments and didn't find the answer.
    First of all, I want to thank you for this wonderful video comparison.
    It looks like Epson leaves no chance to Optoma, and the choice is obvious, but for people who plan to map not only at house, but also various objects in a dark room, not only color reproduction is important, but also black levels. (So that there is no ugly black square around your object, like in this video: ruclips.net/video/vXl7mOs1-vA/видео.htmlsi=v9tNAIyZ4oqjl3Ty )
    Have you compared projectors on this parameter, because I have no doubt about the color reproduction with technology 3LCD, but black levels and contrast make me worry.
    Thanks in advance for your answer!

    • @fxprojections9769
      @fxprojections9769  Месяц назад

      @@thelasttrip5094 Solid question! I haven't had any issues with this since most of the time it isn't a pitch dark environment I'm doing projection mapping in. Any slight ambient lighting around what you are projecting on shouldn't make the "black square" noticable. I've never noticed it on a house or building but I'm sure in a pitch dark room it would be.

    Any concerns about the Epson in cold weather? I'm located in Utah. Also, it seems that nearly all recommendations for projection mapping seem to lean towards the Optoma brand. After reviewing the specs, I thought the Epsons were clearly a good option. Any thought on that reasoning?? Thanks for your content and help.

      Luckily living in Florida I don't have this issue lol but as long as when it kicks on at dusk and it's in it's 30s.. it should be ok. Once on it'll heat up enough (if in box/enclosure) and be ok if it drops more. But if it's below that, you might need to put a reptile heating pad in there. (I've heard many that do this).
      Optoma is more popular because up until recently Epson didn't have any Full HD short throw projectors at a reasonable price until this L210sf. The only ones they had weren't as high resolution or were pro projectors which are much more expensive.

For every 1.32 feet back in the yard it goes from the house, the projections will be 1 foot wide on the house. Example, for a 50 foot long house, that would need to be placed back 66 feet to cover it.
