Before Firewhistle this wasn't possible (without the Mephisto bug which I think is retarded) because of DP constraints and dps limits. You couldn't kill Mephisto in time, and you needed to spend a lot of DP to field stuff to beat the early rush (especially the defense crusher who requires arts because 2000 DEF).
Now that Firewhistle's out I decided to try a bit. Her DPS is surprisingly high, though it doesn't really come across much in this clear. It may be possible to do much less ops but that involves investigating slowly tanking and killing Mephisto + some management to kill the wave 2 mobs in an AOE. From tests it didn't seem too promising and I didn't want to spend hours malding over one of my least favorite AK bosses so I went for a quick and funny Shalem burst setup with some blocking to refuel him for maximum DPS.
Personally hate Mephisto because
1. No teleport timer bar
2. Takes forever to move, really boring (similar to LE-EX-8)
3. Rewards bursting or low ops a little too much. It feels unsatisfying to win by the power of high quality operators instead of high quality strategy. You can ignore this part ish with the bug but the bug is retarded.

Having played with her a bit I'll say I'm extremely impressed at Firewhistle's DPS, it's much higher than I thought and she's very usable as a pure melee
Unfortunately this made me aim for some really hard clears that I didn't finish in time before event EX opens lol

In comparison when Aurora released (no module) she was so underwhelming I basically put out any clear where she was useful and not just really hard ones

@tumsYT given how Firewhistle made this clear possible, what kind of kit would you like to see next addition to the Defender class overall? What's missing that would make Defenderknights even stronger? And if nothing, what you would you consider 'great' modules for Mud and Penance (and Lisk)
Firewhistle is really bridging between horn and ashlock 👌🏼very fun to use and her artwork is wholesome🥰
Firewhistle is an amazing unit. She's pretty versatile, good in both offence and defence thanks to her passive, and her 2nd skill is just satisfying as hell on top of dealing respectable damage

Why did you deploy and retreat Hung? I forgot if he has any passives
Increasing his DP cost gives me more DP cost when retreating him later
Lets me be less strict about timing the Mephisto P1 kill to maximize DP for deploying the Shalem slaughter system which costs a lot

Firewhistle is pretty reliable. I've got her to max pot in the banner and have been using her for my Rim Billiton clear in the current event.

Is she good? I've got her from event free roll and I don't know should I level her up or not.
She is really good. Essentially she's a 3 block defender with a long range AOE similar to Horn. The things that make her stand out however is her S2 which makes her attacks leave a massive AOE arts flame field on the ground which can burn through enemies quickly. She also has a talent that alters her stats slight based on if she's firing long range or doing cqc while blocking
All in all a very reliable defender with solid DPS and arts damage. Can't go wrong

Is Shalem really better than Asbestos in this scenario?
Asbestos is like AoE caster

She's part of an archetype called the Fortress Defenders, which all have the same range. She's the third one to be released, with the others being the 5* Ashlock (seen in this video) and the 6* Horn.
