1- that will defo break a string if ur just tuning up, or make a string lose tension if ur also tuning down 2 - this method has the added benefit of chord shapes staying the same above the capo, so you don't have to relearn chprds just for one song (can also help if it's too hard to play a say, an open G chord in drop D)
