Important note: He’s not using real lemon oil (that would be waaayyyy too acidic for your guitar) he’s using a mineral based oil with maybe 0.5-1% of lemon oil. I use Dunlop 65, but you can use any fretboard oil, just make sure not to buy pure lemon oil. So I’d recommend sticking to guitar companies like D‘Addario or Dunlop so you know that you don’t harm your fretboard

If you use pure lemon oil the wood would probably dry out completely and cracks would start forming. Also the frets might start to come out of the fretboard.

this is great advice especially the lemon oil it works great on a fingerboard and keeps the wood hydrated i usually only do this after playing for quite a while like every few months or even longer sometimes not everytime you change strings it can get quite annoying especially if you need to change strings fast

Also, lube up your bridge pins, saddle, nut and the edge of the string holes on the tuners. Try to run some steel wool on the frets too to shine them up and make them smoother.
Never take all the strings off at once, it will ruin the tension of the wood (I don't know if I explained this right, since English isn't my first language)

I change strings almost every week.. Just one tip, do not change all the strings together if cleaning it's not required. It help the neck to not move and it stay in tune way better.
Just a reminder that taking all the strings off at once can actually damage the truss rod. It’s much better for your guitar to replace a string or two at a time.
Another thing one can do is polish the frets. I use the Lizard Spit kit. It works really well. Steel wool (the other method) leaves little fragments that can get stuck to the pickups. You can also add some lubricant to the nut to prevent friction that can cause tuning instability. I use Big Bends Nut Sauce. Another thing you can do if you're feeling ambitious (and confident) is taking EVERYTHING apart and clean grime off of hard to reach spaces, and clean and/or polish the metal surfaces. I've only done this on electrics because almost everything on an acoustic is glued together 😳 After this thorough of a clean, the guitar literally looks brand new apart from the scratches and dings. A good setup makes every guitar play better. It's easily a night and day difference. Investing in a few setup tools and learning what to do is a great way to save money on shop bills and have a guitar that always plays well. It's easier than you think, just be 110% sure you know how to adjust the truss rod correctly. Triple checking doesn't hurt.
If you don't use a microfiber cloth or can actually scratch up your finish real bad. I used an ordinary cloth on an old guitar of mine and while it's not immediately noticable, you can see hundreds of tiny marks on the surface when you look up close. Think dragging a needle across the surface like a million times, that's about what it looked like.
Ya don’t need to take the strings off unless there old but still this is how you do it. Yet no one but you and me and maybe our grandpas care about TLC.
where do you get your tool for adjusting a truss rod. my truss rod has like a hexagonal, pentagonal, octagonal or whatever kinda shape in it where you insert the tool. i tried using my dad’s anal wrench but my truss rod didn’t budge. i have no idea what model my guitar is cuz my parents bought it for me and didn’t keep the receipt, but it’s a fender acoustic guitar i got around 4-5 yrs ago.
