    we have the older generation 225xe plug-in hybrid. It's a really practical car for us, for daily school runs and around the city where we mostly use just electricity. We are also happy with the car for long trips. We went last year for 3 3-week car trip around Europe and all our luggage fit in with room to spare in 3. On one of the trips we were 4 people and the luggage compartment was full. Adjusting the backrest was useful once when I had to take some relatives to the airport and they had a lot of luggage divided into big suitcases.

    Love this car, looking to buy the 225e M sport in a few months. They don't even advertise the ambient lighting for this car on their website like they do with other models, yet it seems to have some of the best lighting in their (affordable) range. Even the BMW I4 doesn't change colours with driving modes which seems odd when this does.
    Just the cheap Hud that lets it down.

      Is the ambient lighting standard on all versions of the 225e?

    The head up display is on the plastic piece because of the angle of the front window. It’s not possible to project it on the window because of the angle of the window. If they would do it on the window it wouldn’t be visible

      Yea, first I thought it’s cost saving, but then noticed that X1 has it on the front window. So I believe them.

      @Lanoumik you are right, the cost was the reason, since they use the one from Mini Countryman instead of investing in adapting it to the angle of this windshield.

    From July 2023, BMW is cutting costs for the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer and X1. For example, they remove the glove box light and replace it with a hole 🤣.

    • @HuSerrVVVF
      @HuSerrVVVF 2 месяца назад

      Yeah, it's kinda nasty, but I mean, not a dealbreaker, what else have been removing?

    • @mihaicostinpetcu
      @mihaicostinpetcu 2 месяца назад

      @@HuSerrVVVF I guess they removed also some sound and heat insulation materials. After using it for several months, my biggest issues are that it squeaks and rattles quite a bit. The engine/gearbox (I have a 220i mild hybrid) is jerky and vibrates at low speeds or in heavy traffic conditions. However, the fuel consumption is quite good, averaging 7 liters per 100 km.

    • @HuSerrVVVF
      @HuSerrVVVF 2 месяца назад

      @@mihaicostinpetcu I guess I'll be looking for the 225e, also, does it still have ambient lighting? I read that they removed part of it from the door pockets. Are the light strips underneath the vents and door handle still present? Also, does yours have the interior camera?

    • @mihaicostinpetcu
      @mihaicostinpetcu 2 месяца назад

      @@HuSerrVVVF The lights and the interior camera depend on the options you choose. I have the lights but not the camera. What they changed on the cars after 07/2023 is that they removed the glovebox light, the door sills, some of the door stitching, the right plastic box storage in the trunk, and the door lock pins. They also replaced the synthetic leather provider, and all the plastics and insulations have a new composition with more recycled materials (this new composition is more rigid and produces more squeak noises). I suggest you try one for a week before you plan to buy it. I found a lot of small issues and personally, I regret buying it.

    I found your review quite boring. You should balance and give an unbiased opinion. You sound like the die man designers mom, saying that everything is for nice, well done, luxury, modern, and nice. Did I mention nice again?
    I think the vehicle is overpriced. Looks normal.

    The front grill is too large, the car looks like a big rodent from the front.
