Just want to say this was very helpful. Replaced both the purge solenoid and vent hose and had to drive the car for over 60 miles before the check engine light reset itself. I removed the hose and went to the Ford dealer and they ordered the part from their Detroit plant for about $60. I ordered the valve/solenoid from amazon for $20 and it took 10 min to replace. Also right after replacing the parts my remote start would not work but after driving 60+ miles it started working again. I was on the verge of taking it to a mechanic and until the engine light finally turned off though driving for that length on a check engine light is risky. This is was all on a 2015 V6 3.7L Mustang FYI. Thanks for the info!

I had a same problem with my ‘15 Mustang. I believed there was a vacuum leak in the intake so did the smoke test which led to nothing. Glad came across your video. This explains why the motor stalls after refueling. The Air Fuel Ratio was running rich around 9:2 because the valve was open and drawing more fuel vapors into intake. Thanks Buddy! Saved my time and money.
Really appreciate this video. Got the part and a code reader and was able to fix this in 20 mins. CEL with P1450 came on for me after I had the dealership do a throttle body cleaning in which they tell me that nothing they did would have caused this but they would fix it for me for the low price of $380 😒
This video helped me thanks. On my 2015 Eco pony, had the Rough start and rough idling after fueling. However engine light came on 2 months later with code P0456 Evap leak. After many hours of research, didn't find anything on 0456 but this part was related to the rough starts after fueling. Took a leap of faith, bought it anyway and it worked. No more rough starts and rough idling. Manually erased engine light and never came back on.
How did you manually erase the check engine light ? Im about to buy this part cause the problem is happening in my car right now and I have seen that many users said the light is still on !

For anyone watching this. It does fix the p144c code. It took me 30 minutes to install. The green connector was the hardest part to take off but get a very thin flat head and gently pry it open. Also the part has changed. As of September 14. The new part number is FR3Z-9G297-H. Hope it helps anyone.

So I’m having the same problem with my 2016 ecoboost. And now that I know what the problem is after I saw this video, I called the 2 closest Ford dealerships to me and none of the people there had a clue of the part I was talking about. I literally had to search on the comments below for the part number while I had the guy on the phone and they were able to find it and they kept saying it’s just a hose. So make sure you write down that number or they won’t have a clue of what you’re talking about. Thank you for the lifesaver video.
Thanks that did the trick. On the 2016 Mustang GT, the engine cover is removed by popping loose 4 plastic points. Just lift up on the sides. No screws to bolt. Also, autozone etc has the valve. It'll be different than the ecoboost on this video. Also, the valve comes off with 2xbolts. After removing the bolts, be careful with the plastic fastener removing the valve from the line. The valve is located right below the 5.0 badge on the engine cover. Check engine light came on at 24k miles. After replacing valve, gas mileage immediately improved. I cleared the code with the reader and took for a test drive.

Like you encountered a lot of wrong information, sold wrong part, very little accurate info on line. Even Ford Parts guy could not identify the part # you provided saying it was a hose. Thank you! It was very easy to remove and replace, just like you said. Probably a total of 10 minutes, including removing the engine cover. Easy fix of a major headache! Also, you were right on the money about trying to locate it. Went to the dealership and even when they looked it up by my car's VIN, they tried to give me the wrong part. I had already pulled it up on their parts website so they found it (ends with H now, as many have pointed out below), but not before debating with me and telling me that what I was asking for was not the right part.

I just tested mine and the suction turned off when I removed the power. However, was the suction a constant flow or was the suction "throttling" drum beat like because my suction was a constant flow
I wonder if this code is also the causer for heavy white smoke coming from the exhaust? I have the same code, I remote start stopped working and i've been getting heavy white smoke while in idle, after i drive for a while the exhaust goes away.

Somebody below got it for about $35. I think I paid over $50, but that was also because the only place that I could find it was the local dealership. I did not yet have the required part number.

Did you test purge valve for being stuck open (as in the video). If so then you replaced a bad part. So either the code just needs to be reset or possibly you have some other vacuum problem in the system.
Normal caveats that I'm not responsible if your car has other issues, but if the evap cannister issue is all that is wrong with your car, it won't harm the engine to drive the car until you can fix it. This is an environmental issue and your car won't pass inspection. But it is not a problem that will mess up your car's systems. Still, I would advise fixing it as soon as practical.
Justin Ball thanks ! Did you had the same problem ? I tested to see if it was stuck open and got suction only when I removed the first hose , I only felt little to none suction when I removed the power source .
Lalo Cina ours had suction with the valve solenoid connected or disconnected. Ordered the part off amazon so I can’t attest as to whether or not it 100% fixes it but based on testimonials here I’m optimistic.

For placement you can probably find a 3.7 video showing it, Or it looks a lot like this one. Part number for mine on 2015 3.7 was AU5Z-9C915-B

How do you remove the electrical connector?
Shown in video. Pull out the tab holding it in and it should slip off. Don't jerk or force anything. But once you loosen the tab pulll off.
