Good tips. Here are a few more that have helped me: 1) Your job is to be a man. That means stepping up to do things that are hard (not being lazy, don’t assume your wife will do it). That means laying down your life like Jesus; making different kinds of sacrifices for the greater good of your marriage. 2) When you feel angry/resentful toward your wife, remember that she is a beloved child of God, and she has been placed in your life for you to minister to her. Not to “save” her but to “serve” her. 3) Become aware of your habits that trigger her anger. We all have them. Avoid those land mines by being more disciplined. 4) Marriage is not about sharing 50% of the work and arguing about who is doing 51% and who is doing 49%. As a man, you are responsible for your household. As a servant leader, you are responsible for 100% not 50%. Assume that it’s all on you and be grateful that you have a wife who can help you. 5) When you aren’t acting like a man (“you’re acting like a teenage boy”) you are killing any sexual desire that she has for you. She doesn’t desire to have sex with a child. So don’t get lazy. Keep acting like a man.

Please pray for me that God, if it's his will and that he lets me know; that he blesses me with the opportunity to meet a gentleman Catholic who would be my future husband, who's attracted to me, and wants to court me.

What do you mean ,"For them" do not do things for them ,do it WITH them. Learn the meaning of true friendship ,a rare thing these days.no offence ,but you scare me. ,you sound like you walk on egg shells.,we're just people ,like men ! Yes being aware and appreciated and acknowledged for the 😂mundane things she does. Love is an action, it helps us grow . A good argument ,clears the air, always works!honesty and trust . Good Chat guys. Ditto for men ,treat each other with care ,don't make it a chore.

Please pray for my marriage. I am discouraged and leave it in God's hands. Pre-Cana is a joke and a waste of time.

Amen, it is. Don't waste your time with Marriage Encounter either - it was just a weekend of writing workshops and "how do you feeeeeeeeeeeel about that" I'll be praying for you too but we have been on our own / I have been on my own to figure it all out. Neither set of (grand)parents are helpful.

A lot practical advice, but I also think some woman are just not cut out for staying and home raising kids for 16,17 years, a woman goes to college for 4 to 6 years, gets advanced degree in biotech and is now stuck at home with snotty noses and poopy diapers, and puke, on top of that you still have to pay back that loan? while her husband pursues a theology degree ,at which will only pay around In ( 2022, theology jobs paid an average salary of $46,000) .

A lot of modern males will look down on the role of it lasts that long. They try their best to appreciate femininity, but it usually only goes so far. There are so many other influences out there outside the family now.....

@@Kitiwake I don't think it pays much not a lot of liberal arts degrees pays much. Theology degree starting pay about 30k and topping out at 50k to 60k ..( not for the all commitment, and schooling needed )

The Real Problem is the Breakdown in Marriage: Have you seen the rise in Annulments from 1968 compared to today within the Catholic Church? The rise in Annulments was a tsunami of Annulments: In 1968, the American church granted fewer than 600 annulments; today in 2020 it hands out more than 60,000 a year - From less than 600 to more 60,000 in 40 Years!

35:00 asking your spouse what behaviors you exhibit most annoys them is of incredible utility. Then, make a commitment to fixing those behaviors.
I have asked my wife from the beginning of our relationship to point out my faults and weaknesses. She pushes me daily to be the best man I can be and I am incalculablly grateful to have her in my life.

Exactly 💯 when my house messy it makes my thoughts more disordered... When my husband helps me clean that is a huge act of love & I find him so much more attractive ❤️

I didn't catch the last part where you said that you and your wife pray multiple times a day I mean I can understand if you're in the industry (church) you got time to do that, but what about some guy that's working 12 or 14 hours a day in the construction industry, or where you just can't drop your tools and go pray?

One person I know who has a very busy schedule would "offer it up" as she worked. This can be done quickly with one's thoughts. Just a quick prayful thought.

@@lizlovsdagmara5525 Well , the work I did could've caused problems if I for one took my mind off of what I was doing. I don't think I would have felt comfortable praying during the context of work. - In those days I had no real life other than work and my goal was to keep a roof over my family's heads. - there wasn't much time for church or church activities.

Here's the problem with getting help. Psychologists are crazy themselves, marriage therapists get kickbacks for referring people to divorce lawyers, and priests just say "we're not marriage counselors."
