The original plan was to upload my first playthrough, but given that I played terribly (understandable, being my first playthrough) and that the stream highlights are crap quality and I didn't have a better recording, I decided to just go ahead and play through the game a second time. I didn't edit anything out, so this is a completely uncut run. For the most part I didn't play that horribly, there are a couple parts where I got distracted for a second or didn't react quickly enough and got killed but thankfully that didn't happen too often.
Anyway yeah, enjoy! I'll prolly get to doing a few more speedruns of this game before Lost World comes out. Speaking of which I'll probably upload playthroughs of both versions of Lost World as well a week or two after it comes out.

Yeah, they didn't even bother to make really new levels like in the console versions of Sonic Generations.

I mean some bosses are actually pretty good. Look at biolizard and big arms for example.
Also it was developed only in 8 months but it has all new zones (except green hill, which the classic version is literally act 1 from sonic 1)

I have to give props to Sega for making the best '3DS version' game ever made. Like, they really just went and made completely new stages AND bosses? I wanna know who tf is complaining.
Props to Dimps. They were forced under severe crunch time by SEGA when making this, and it still managed to come out good. This was their first experience with developing for the 3DS, and they were tasked to make it in only 6 months. SEGA doesn't deserve props for this one, crunch is bad and shouldn't be celebrated.

Why isn't the finalhazard fight in this game like perfect chaos? In guessing it's because that battle was already very violent the only innacurate thing about the violence level was the lack of blood. Yes there was pus (isn't pus worse than blood?) and if they remade it with better graphics it would probably have to be a lot gorier or so censored that it would be ruined...
Zachary Kenniston I was thinking the reason finalhazard isn't in the game was because Sonic would have to be Super Sonic to fight him but he'd only have a few by the time he reached the stage. Perfect Chaos makes sense because he needed to be Super Sonic to be fast enough to move on water climb up to attack his brain, with boost that whole part is unnecessary.

3DS version's Time Eater fight is miles better than the console version.
Shame that's about all that it beats the console version in.
At least this one has a charm. And didn't end up abandoned and forgotten.

Except for green hill and the rival battles, the only thing I can give them points on is that they did different levels and stages than the console versions.
I mean seriously, only NINE stages? C'mon sega, you could've released more as dlc or something.
It also beats it in a better boost for modern and classic get a homing attack without skills, shame we can't go super whenever though

TCG Drawing Most of the console was 2D,and the physics for both suck in the console.Dimps also had only 8 months to develop this,yet the dialogue and bosses are better

There’s just something that felt so half assed about the 3DS version even though I had some fun with it.
It's that it was so short
I still have great memories with it but I'd end up wanting more

This may not have been as great as the console version ( except the Time Eater fight) this was still a pretty good game.

I actually liked the 3ds versions gameplay more then the 360s now the 360 did do something's better then the 3ds obviously but I just preferred to play on the 3ds

This version of the game is extremely underrated imo. I really like the selection of stages they included, it has decent variety. I'd even dare to say Classic Sonic's gameplay is way more faithful in this version.

I honestly really like this version! Isnt as great as the other three, but darn theres some amazing stages here! The classic stages have really good music! Emerald Coast classic, Radical Highway Classic... And the Modern stages look really fast and fun! Underrated if I do say so myself.

After looking at mushroom hill act 1 and the big arm boss fight I wonder why SEGA hasn't done a Sonic 3 & Knuckles remake yet!! I can tell a lot of fans are asking for it.

In my opinion, the Complete (sonic 3 complete) versions are way better.
All of the sonic 3 & knuckles music that you can listen to in sonic generations are remixes that sound almost like the original, but it just sounds *too* clean

One of the 3DS' best games! This is just as awesome as the console versions. The haters are either non-believers or expected way too much from the 3DS.

The level design at least flows I think. The levels are done rather quickly like Sonic games should be.

Sonic Generations on 3DS wasn't bad, most of the Modern Stages are VERY mediocre. You also have to remember this was Dimps first time with the 3DS hardware.
Also some of the levels are better than the console version. *Tropical Resort* also the final boss is way more chill and you don't here the repetitive "Be careful Sonic!".

to be fair there's also time attack, online multiplayer, and loads of missions - the missions seem to generally suck though so i'm not really bothering with them
It's pretty cool how sonic referenced Sonic and the secret rings and Sonic Colors
This game looked awesome, i like how they kept the original models from these stages, especially Casino Night!

I hear a lot of people complaining about this version, and after watching this playthrough, I don't understand why. Sure, there's less stages, and Sonic's friends don't appear, but we got awesome zones that aren't in the console version, like Mushroom Hill, Emerald Coast and Radical Highway. The music is still fantastic, the Special Stages were a nice surprise, the Time Eater fight is MUCH less painful and this is probably the best version of 2D boost I've seen.
I just realized that Sonic's boost first appeared in Sonic Heroes' special stage.
Oh God, seeing the Sonic Heroes special stages return made me have immediate flashbacks to the shitty controls. It looks like they've been tweaked, but this'll give any Sonic Heroes player flashbacks to when they had to go through the shitload of fuck that was the Sonic Heroes special stages.

heh. The main thing that pisses me off about Silver is how he attacks you right at the end of the race so if you get hit by it, you lose, regardless of how well you did in the rest of the race.
I love Modern Sonic's song of Mushroom Hill.
Even though the 3DS version looks good, I'll take the console/PC versions over the 3DS version any day

3DS version isn’t that bad, just feels like a lesser, watered down version of the console/PC. Kind of feels like another Sonic Rush game.

No it's not.
Sonic Generations on the 3DS is a lot better. Lost World 3DS was so frustrating I was just waiting for it to end.
The first zone is good, but the rest of the game is pure torture thanks to the awful level design.

Both are good and I’m also deciding for myself but I do like 3D sonic games more so I’m gonna get lost world, the levels are easy in that if you know what to do, only issue with lost world 3ds some levels are like super Mario 64 in a way but with little to no direction, I don’t mind those levels but generations will always be the best side scroller sonic game to me on the 3ds

I️ think that boss and stage selection is a lot better here than in the console version in the console for bosses we got another fight against the death egg robot a fight against perfect chaos and a fight against the egg dragoon in this we got a fight between the big arm a boss that Sega didn’t even acknowledge after sonic 3 until this game the biolizard a boss we haven’t fought since adventure 2 and the egg emperor and literally EVERY STAGE other than green Hill is different than in the console version, it just makes you wish we got more that HECKING PIN BALL for DLC in console generations

Took 6-8 months to make and one of the first few 3ds games made, SEGA doesn’t understand the amount of time and effort a video game needs. Dimps still did a good job for what it is

Why does Modern Sonic have to be in 2D?!?!? Can't they have some 3D elements like the console versions? If they could manage SM64DS on the DS being full 3D and LOZ OOT 3D being full 3D then why couldn't they make Modern Sonic stages 3D? They must be that lazy...

The game was made in the early days of the 3DS so they probably screwed it up but they made Lost World stages fully 3D and 2D

I don't know but I personally LOVED this game, it's the first Sonic game I ever played and it's what sparked my love for Sonic.

I love how sonic says "Well I guess we have to run like theres no tomorrow or else there wont be a tomorrow" but in the other ports of the game Dr.Eggman asks "Whats the time?" To Dr.Robotnik and he responds with "There is no time here" so that means there is no tomorrow already.

Casino Night: Act 1- 00:56, Act 2- 00:49 (S Rank)
Mushroom Hill: Act 1- 1:00, Act 2- 1:27 (S Rank)
