      Hey, I have the same laptop but mine completely shut down when doing a Windows update. Now the laptops power button blinks but does not power on. I've tried everything including reseating the ram and everything the video has to say but there's no life in it. Maybe it overheated as it was always thermal throttling but I can not check that. In a few days I'm going to be sending it back to be repaired but thanks for the video. Additionally, I tried the cmos trick and that did not help. Its always the msi laptops that have these problems.

    @PC_Monkey Unplugged the battery... nothing. Removed the memory then unplugged/replugged battery again and playing with those two things got it turned on. I was going to use sleep/hibernate for a power switch, but after entering hibernate mode, I was unable to get out of it with the power switch basically leaving me with nothing. I'll open it again, and try unplugging the battery to get it back on track, and If anyone can think of a way to turn the hibernate/sleep off, or come up with another way to fake an off/on switch, please let me know. I tried the mouse and every key on the keyboard to wake it but nothing.
    Very helpful video and a whole lot easier than loading this thing up and trying to find an honest repair person.

      @@PC_Monkey I could be wrong, but my last post seems to indicate my power button is bad. I think that because not only will it not start the laptop, but it will not turn it off, nor will it bring the PC out of hibernate or sleep and the power button is set up to wake it.
      Not asking for any guaranteed correct answers. 1) Do the symptoms tend to lead you to believe the power button is bad? 2) I'm needing to know if my MSI GL66 ‎Pulse 11UGK-001 has a way of assigning another key for power in the bios? 3) Since it's very tricky to get this started I need to know the exact key if possible to tap up the bios. Best I can gather is it's the delete key, is that correct? 4) For any other work around you can think of, I would be greatful.
      Thanks and again, just want your best guess, as it will be a lot better than mine...right or wrong, no harm no foul.

    Hey so I have a MSI Raider GE76 and the power button doesn't work because I accidentally somehow disconnected my keyboard which for some reason is also connected to the power button. I know the laptop itself works but is there another way I could power it on?

    • @PC_Monkey

      Did you reconnect the keyboard after? If so, simply unplugging and replugging in a keyboard should not damage anything connected to it. Is there another reason why you feel the power button is damaged? Are you able to try the steps seen here in this video?

    Hey J, so initially found out my msi gf63 v12 laptop's fan extension that you can see without opening the cover is bended. I can't boot up my laptop sadly but idk if that may cause the issue. I can't really specify the piece more than that. Here in search for your help. Please lighten me up 😢

    • @PC_Monkey
      @PC_Monkey  7 месяцев назад

      Yes, if the fan is damaged, that may stop many computers from turning on as its a very important part to the heat assembly and the computer may not want to risk the damage that comes from not having a working fan. I would open the computer up and make sure the fan is ok and does not need to be replaced.

      If after trying the steps seen here in this video multiple times without anything changing, your most likely looking at a faulty component preventing the motherboard from working or a motherboard issue. I would start troubleshooting each component, starting with the charger and power jack. You can see those two videos here; ruclips.net/video/YBhsVHideGE/видео.html & ruclips.net/video/HpabvrNaodU/видео.html. You can also try replacing other components like your Power Button to see if that is the route cause. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.

      2. Just so you know, liquid spill situations can be hard to troubleshoot just one issue as multiple different components and boards including the motherboard itself, could all be faulty.
      After a liquid spill, you want to first make sure the computer is 100% dry. You would turn your computer off immediately by pressing and holding the power button until the computer turns off. Then you would disassemble the computer as much as your comfortable with, at least trying to remove the bottom case. Then you would turn it on its side and let dry for a couple days.

      @@aquacandela3705 Just so you know, over heating situations can be hard to troubleshoot just one issue as multiple different components and boards including the motherboard itself, could all be faulty.
      An overheating computer can be damaging multiple different components if not resolved. First, make sure that the fan and vents are clean and clear. If you need help accessing the fan, let me know what brand and model computer you have and I can help you get inside it. If that does not fix the overheating issue, then try replacing the thermal paste on the CPU and if needed, the GPU as seen here; ruclips.net/video/K_j4GPjpawk/видео.html. If that fails too, replace the CPU

    HELP! I have msi prestige 14 and i already take out and insert the battery back in, I've done mostly everything all videos said and it's still dead!
    Led light charging wont turn on too, i swear the charger is fine because i tried charging my phone and it works, so i just seems like my laptop CAN'T receive the charge?? ((All i did was leave the laptop to rest untouched for a week))

    • @PC_Monkey

      1. I would try the power drain procedure a few times before giving up on it. Have you managed to perform the BIOS reset?
      2. Also, did anything happen before this issue appeared other then leaving it off for a long time? Overheating, liquid spill, Windows update, etc?

    • @mitsukahimeee
      @mitsukahimeee 8 месяцев назад

      @PC_Monkey so it does have a Windows update before i let it rest for a week, it was a sudden update and i didnt bring the charger with me so i let it update until it ran out of battery, then i leave it to rest for a week, today i charge it and realize the led light didnt turn on (i thought it was no big deal) hours later thinking that it finally charged full and ready to be use, i turn it on and it shows the windows update screen, reaching 97% (everything seems fine still) i leave it for a moment, went back, only to find it's totally dead till now
      No overheating, but the opposite, its freezing here, and i left it on a cold table for a week, i heard it could also cause sudden error to laptops(?
      I havent tried the CMOS/BIOS restart, i will soon tho
      Edit : i did the cmos restart, still dead

      @@mitsukahimeee If the computer lost power during an update, it could have messed up the operating system. You would usually have to reinstall it. However, if your computer is not even getting power, something else is the issue here. If none of those are the issue, you would then be left with a motherboard replacement.

    spray 3M adhesive remover on a small microfiber cloth and kep it on the sticker for a minute. Then it will just slide off so nothing is broken. offcourse this info is only for educational purposes and I dont recommend anyone doing it !!!
