  • After repairing & re-aligning this unusual set from around 1989 (not as good as the Quasar MCB400 marine CB with three marine RX channels),it was time for Mr Chippie to test it.
As usual, Mr Chippie drove along our 6-mile 'difficult terrain for radio' test route. He stopped sat the 5-mile point to do a static test. Normally we do a low power (400mW) test at this point on CB27/81 sets, but this radio doesn't have the low power facility. The test ends approaching the 6 mile point as usual.
Right from the start, Mr Chippie complained that the transmitted audio was thin & quiet. Now, we all so Jesan is a bit of an 'also ran' brand so we are not excpecting BBC audio quality. However, the next day I looked back at the radio with a standard replacement microphone rather than the factory original unit we had used during the 'on the air' test here. The factory original mike is indeed quiet & thin sounding. At the end of the video, I go over to our base station with first the factory original microphone, then our standard replacement unit. You'll here the difference & we call all hear what Mr Chippie was complaining about.

Our continued thanks to Thunderpole for kindly supplying the T3000 radio used in the test vehicle at no cost to us. This is the sole reason for the 'paid promotion' flag on this video.
