Geometry on Khan Academy: We are surrounded by space. And that space contains lots of things. And these things have shapes. In geometry we are concerned with the nature of these shapes, how we define them, and what they teach us about the world at large--from math to architecture to biology to astronomy (and everything in between). Learning geometry is about more than just taking your medicine ("It's good for you!"), it's at the core of everything that exists--including you. Having said all that, some of the specific topics we'll cover include angles, intersecting lines, right triangles, perimeter, area, volume, circles, triangles, quadrilaterals, analytic geometry, and geometric constructions. Wow. That's a lot. To summarize: it's difficult to imagine any area of math that is more widely used than geometry.
About Khan Academy: Khan Academy offers practice exercises, instructional videos, and a personalized learning dashboard that empower learners to study at their own pace in and outside of the classroom. We tackle math, science, computer programming, history, art history, economics, and more. Our math missions guide learners from kindergarten to calculus using state-of-the-art, adaptive technology that identifies strengths and learning gaps. We've also partnered with institutions like NASA, The Museum of Modern Art, The California Academy of Sciences, and MIT to offer specialized content.
For free. For everyone. Forever. #YouCanLearnAnything

Wow I used the distance formula, took 3/4 of that, then did the distance formula for an arbitrary x,y, then solved for f(x) using the points given and then substituted for the y in the old equation and solved it to get (-3,2). Thanks, Sal.

I don’t get where he found 1:4, because his says 3:1. And on my hw it says 5:2, so should I use 1:4 as a formula??

Angel Velazques no he said 1/4 because 3 +1 is 4 so there are 4 equal parts

for simplicity's sake, multiply the change in Y and X between the two points both by the required fraction and thats your point.

Can we do this without graphing? Or do we need to graph to figure it out?

Is there a formula for this?
    1. Start at point A (1,1)
    2. Move to a different location B(3,3)
    3. Then in point B, turn 90 degrees to the right and move in straight line.
    4. Get the first integer values (x,y) of the points C.
Exist a formula to get third point based in two points?
