They are releasing a single and you already know that there's an album coming out this year and it is great. I hate when bands release a single and then disappear for a year or two
I think this is the way bands in this genre play things now. Something in the middle, you get a mixture single of screams and cleans, then you get a all screams, then you get an all cleans. The Plot In You did this sort of thing with their last few singles. I honestly like the bands showing each side of their talents and what they can bring to the table for a full album
This song drew me to this band. It reminds me of a Japanese artist, Utsu-p, who makes rock/ metal songs mixed with EDMs and techno flairs. To me this is a modern rock/metal piece.
Yea, I immediately thought of MiW's Masterpiece where you said the breakdown kinda felt out of place, and I still disagree, but I think this is more true for this song.
Manic was pretty great imo, but Pressure is one of my all time favorite albums along with Beartooth's Disease album. Those two albums got me through some rough times. Songs like Alive, Desperate, Southbound, and Gravity will always be amazing though.
Love Wage War and personally I really like this song as well as their other softer songs, they just have a nice sound whether its a harder or softer song.
Favorite Wage War track gotta be Gravity. I dont particularly like this new song, but thats fine. Still looking to see what they cooked up. I also think Manic is fire as hell cause i love simple catchy riffs with hooky chourus. This sound here feels it lacks a bit on the riff side of things.
I agree with the message and emotion lacking in the music and lyrics. My favorite songs from Wage War are Godspeed, Slow Burn, and Indestructible. All of which are a bit softer in presentation. But have a ton of emotion behind the delivery and the lyrics. Magnetic just kind of comes and goes and doesn’t leave you with anything to think about. Even thought it’s just as generic as Godspeed and slow burn are. But those two tracks still have a ton of emotion behind them.
Assuming people just don't like it because it's not the heaviest. I'm never gonna get mad at a band for writing an objectively good radio pop rock song. It's not bad by any means, just not directly comparable to their previous releases. Personally, wish they didn't include a breakdown and they went all in with a generic bridge; they really fit the sound they're trying to emulate, but the breakdown really subtracts from song as a whole.
For those of us who felt this song to their core, I just want to say that it's a BALLAD. Although I tend to prefer other Wage War, they just out-balladed all the dad butt rock octane hits and made me feel something. They have incredible range as artists so we can def give them that

This song definitely feels like it's Pressure era. Which is fine with me. I do agree that it's very standard. It's very A to B. As a huge Wage War fan, the song is fine. There's not many peaks and valleys. Feels pretty steady throughout the whole song. I think it'll grow on me with lyrics, etc like everything else. It just didn't give me an "Oh shit" moment. And a breakdown doesn't necessarily need to happen to get that. I just enjoy good song writing. A solid song, it just doesn't stand out for me.

My favourite Wage War songs are Youngblood, Desperate, and Johnny Cash (both original and stripped). My opinion is if a band is going to embrace the butt rock, they should go full send and have a bridge hook instead of a phoned in breakdown.
My favorite song is either low or my grave is mine to dig. I personally love this song though, yeah it doesn't sound like typical wage war but these boys are too good of clean vocalists to not take advantage of it every once in a while.
When I started listening to this song I immediately thought of MiW's "Masterpiece", and thought in my head "surely they're not gonna do the breakdown thing." Even though I really like that song there seems to be this weird trend of making more catchy/emotional songs but then adding a massive, uncalled for breakdown in the bridge and it's starting to become almost predictable at this point
The classic butt rock for exposure with an added breakdown meant to appease fans. Then they’ll hit the good ol’ “we don’t mind the hate, we’re writing the music WE want to hear” excuse
This is a very heartfelt song that isn’t getting the recognition it deserves. This isn’t supposed to be a knock your socks off type of song. Why does everyone think every song wage war puts out needs to be heavy? It gets pretty boring after awhile. This song changes things up so you feel every emotion on each song of the album but the breakdowns in heartfelt songs just isn’t necessary which I can agree on. Real wage war fans would understand this change
I loved the last album, this song is alright but doesn’t really make me feel much either. This band is at its best with mainly heavier stuff with a mix of the lighter side imo
It's good, but what happened to the guys who wrote the river, stitch, low, etc? It's like they are trying to appeal to the radio audience and think that throwing in a breakdown will fully satisfy their old fans...
They're still wage war, dude this has always been how they've been since the beginning, they've had softer toned songs in nearly every single album they've had.
As someone who loves new Parkway, at least they still have some good heavy parts even if it's not as 'heavy' as their old stuff. New Wage War doesn't really even sound like the same band. I mean they'll grow from the newer sound for sure, but I am pretty indifferent towards this sound.
This is an example of bands not wanting to write metal or heavy music anymore, but feel like they have to because of their root fan base. So many bands that transition their sound are adding these pointless breakdowns to make their old fans happy and it ends up being pointless because it probably doesn’t do anything for the old fans, instead it makes the song feel very unauthentic and forced. If Wage War doesn’t want to write heavy music anymore they should just do exactly that. It would be better for them and the new fans they’re trying to acquire.
I literally never understood the hate with bands. Like, the song here is fine. And they were good live. I enjoy it. People act like there's only 1 band on the planet or something lmfao.

The classic butt rock for exposure with an added breakdown meant to appease fans. Then they’ll hit the good ol’ “we don’t mind the hate, we’re writing the music WE want to hear” excuse
Couldn’t have been more spot on with this lol.
Twenty One is a banger, Stitch, Manic and High Horse are also GREAT songs
Is this song their best? No, not that close in my opinion. Is it deserving of the reception it’s getting? No, it’s completely fine
@@alexweddle8219 No its not lol. Every single song on Blueprints and Deadweight is pissed, nothing like this garbage.
@@AB21 go back and listen to them then and keep telling yourself that.
@@alexweddle8219 I listen to those albums weekly. Maybe you should go back and listen cause youre wrong.
@@AB21 you're right about blueprints for the most part, but not deadweight
Youngblood by Wage War just hits differently for me.
Yup. People pleasing is a curse.
I literally never understood the hate with bands. Like, the song here is fine. And they were good live. I enjoy it. People act like there's only 1 band on the planet or something lmfao.
